  1. there was a thread a while ago regarding a new border crossing to Burma from Kan and whether there may be a possibility of doing border runs there.

    Anyone got an update?

I was thinking about this crossing only a few days ago. One was supposed to be opening up at Ban Phoo Nam Ron not far from an existing crossing for locals only at Ban Bong Thii.

OP, the three nearest for you are Aranyaphret/Poipet, Mae Sot or Ranong.

  2. A ceiling fan keeps me cool. Desk top type fans never last long before they start clicking, whirring, rattling or making some other type of sleep depravational noise. :D

Top Tip. Don't forget to check the rotational direction of the ceiling fan blades. Don't be a soft tw@t and discover that after 4 years the fan was drawing air upwards instead of downwards.

    :o

  3. when she goes quiet and won't respond to the "what's wrong" questions and won't reveal what she is pissed about. As I get older, that bothers me less and I can almost wait her out now.

Every now and then my wife is the same. Total silence. But I'm mastering the visual signs of her body language. The Cold Shoulder, The Crossed Arms of Isolation, The Frenzied Eyebrow of Incomprehension, The Sneer of Despair. But they all wane in comparision to the Grimace of Doom or The Scowl of Impending Wrath.

I can handle them all to a certain degree except for 'The Flared Nostrils of Total Rejection', because I know I'm not going to be getting my Jollies anytime soon. :o

  4. Its easy to get your post count up, just do what a few choice members do, a :D and a :D and a few of :D and dont forget to drop in a few :D and you will have your count up in no time :D

Just testing the reply button. I err...thought it was sticking a bit. Seems to be in good working order now though. :o

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The above are two examples of post bumping. Daley's method is one often used but lacks any creativeness whilst mine does and is more humorous by far. :D

Another way to increase one's posting tally is to respond to this post using just one of the above smilies, even if your a humorless git who couldn't see humour even if Coco the Clown smacked you in the face with a rubber sledgehammer and poured molten custard down the front of your trousers. :D

  5. Leave the motorbike helmet outside overnight and in the morning the thing is full of 50-100 mozzies. Stand there armes with electric tennis racket and turn over helmet. instand Mozzie genocidde. Its a great feeling and leaves a funky, 'killer' smell in the air for a while.

Try it, you might like it too!!

I do the same with my boots and the kid's shoes.

aaaaah....I love the smell of fried mozzies in the morning. :o

  6. Thank you all for the informed replies all the uninformed replies and comments about my personal well being.

I’m fairly new at this forum posting thing but thought that I had read enough of other postings to feel that the whole thing was supposed to be a light hearted discussion forum with members exchanging information, experiences and general trivia.

Most of the things mentioned about my age, eye tests and general awareness of my surroundings are no doubt true and I believe they were intended to be said in a joking manor.

Unfortunately as there do not seem to be any qualified comedy script writers here the written humor does not come across very well.

I don’t take this personally as I’m sure you are all VERY nice people really just needing something more interesting in your lives than putting others down.

I’m thinking of putting a disclaimer at the end of any future posts, something on the lines of “any comments made by this poster either sober or under the influence of any alcohol have no relation to the real world and any similarity to events or persons in the real word are purely coincidental and under no circumstances should any recommendation or suggestions regarding any situation made by this poster be tried or be taken seriously by anyone living or dead”

Any comments as to the wording of my disclaimer will be welcome.

    :o:D:D

You forgot "no animals were harmed during the typing of this post".

Other than that, it looks ok. :D

  7. I think those little satang coins are cute. I actually collect them.

If anyone doesn't like them then can you please send them to me?

Just save up about 1,000 bahts worth then take the coins to a bank and exchange it for a 1,000 baht note. Then send it to me and I'll change it back into satang coins at my bank.

    Thanks in advance. :o

  8. After my wife dropped our first she spent about a week sleeping outside next to the house on a low table. Next to it was a fire and my wife was covered in a yellowish paste. That alone was enough not think about having sex for awhile. :o

  9. Do people find it easier to use British pounds? I get confused instead when I am in England. :o

It can be confusing when a Cockney friend gives you a Bluey to get some ciggies for him and tells you "get a couple of Squirrels and a Dolphin in the change and keep a Platypus for yourself". :D

  10. Will it rain tomorrow ?

What in Bristol? :o Of course it will :D In Thailand? I dont care i am not in Thailand :D

Yeah sure, you don't care. That's why you are on here every day, keeping in touch. :D

Oh yeah, sunny and hot yesterday. More of the same today ! Probably more of the same tomorrow ! :D

The Patchway boy peers at the sky,

Will it rain? for it's rarely dry,

    Something shiny, eastward bound,

Flies o'er Daley, on the ground.

Folks are waving, from the TG plane,

At downcast Daley, hiding his pain,

Land Of Smiles, they sing the tune,

But the Bristol boy won't grin till June!

Nice ode Bannork but why leave out the final verse?

And when the happy Bristol Bred Boy arrives

"Lock up your daughters" will be the cries

"Fear not residents" will sayeth Daleyboy

"For deep in my heart, I'm really a Khatoey".

    :D

  11. Baked pork chops sounds very interesting. I don't like coke or pepsi, I wonder what I could use instead?

I would also chop up some hot chillies and add those!

You should still try it with the coke or pepsi, or another cola... you can't taste the flavor of cola, it's the sugars, caramel and acids in the cola that help with the taste. My Romanian wife hates cola, but she loves this dish, you'll be surprised... I have to make it for her everytime I return to the states to see my daughter.

A few years back I tried to find a restaurant in Thong Tha Phum, Kanchanaburi that boiled chicken in cocoa cola but I couldn't find it. I thought it was a unique method until a few other girls told me that a few places here and there do it.

I still haven't had the pleasure of sampling it.

  12. since few days ago I can´t log out from TV. Every time I start or re-start my computer and I access to TV i don´t need to log in because i am already logged even though i logged myself out the night before... :D Why is this so?

am I so addicted to this forum that the computer just log me in without me doing it? :o

Welcome to the Hotel ThaiVisa Forum

"You can check out any time you like

    But you can never leave."

    :D

  13. Why is the sea salty?

The blue whale possesses an 11 foot long penis and produces 400 gallons of semen. When the whale mates only 10% enters the female whale. That means 360 gallons of semen is spread around on the water.

Wow! Hate to think of how much whale sperm is produced by the Sperm Whale. :o

A rather confused blue whale inexplicably gets turned on while in the presence of a human and will soon shower him with 400 gallons of semen:

    blue2gs.gif

Looks like he's using protection by standing behind a 2m wall. :D
