  1. What is the average price please. 2 adults and a toddler. Hoping Krabi taxis are better than the Phuket experience. Any personal recommendations would be appreciated. Only proviso is a safe driver and we get to destination alive and no injuries. Thanks.

  2. There is a mid sized Tesco Lotus in Ao Nang at the head of the main road that leads to the beach near the intersection of a road that leads to Krabi Town (as it is referred to). I can send you Google Map/Earth coordinates if you need them. Every tuk tuk, song thaew and taxi driver knows how to find it.

In Krabi Town - there are the large mini mall size Big C and Tesco Lotus on the Route 4 not too far from the Krabi Airport. There is also a Makro - standard size on Route 4 leading to Phuket.

I have Google Earth / Google Map coordinates for these... I posted them on Thaivisa Forums ... I'll go find them and post a link ...

There are other shops - local 'Mom and Pop' shops that have foods and general merchandise for families.

The average distance to the places in Krabi Town - from Ao Nang would be about 22 kilometers - give or take. I ride my rented motorbike there quite often.

The mid size one locally in your first para would be perfect. If you have directions (or a landmark) to that I would be grateful. Many thanks.

Also typical cost of a taxi? How are the taxi's? Are they metered? Well regulated? Thanks.

  3. Will be in Krabi at the end of the month. Looking for toddler friendly restaurants, kind staff, good service, high chair. Budget not an issue provided it is not a touristic Pish taking rip off nonsense, (of which I remember many 8 years ago. Cow Pad 180 baht...lol. I was a novice back then.) My Thai missus will keep any duel pricing attempts in check!

Seriously though happy to pay good money for good product! We eat all types of cuisine other than dog and protein that is better off in burrows or flying around the street lamps. Would love to find a good pizza, a decent beef steak, etc . Thanks for any recommendations.

  4. I am spending some time in Aonang Beach Krabi at the end of the month. I need access to supermarket shopping for our toddler, or at the least a mini Tesco Lotus Express or similar. Need more than the average 7/11 range of goods. Any Lotus Express?

I understand there is a supermarket 13km away. How easy is access to this? Cost of taxi both ways for example. Thanks for any local advice.

  5. Before I met my wife I had 4 long term thai girlfriends spanning 4 years. In the beginning of each relationship sex was always protected. At the point in time where it was clear it was more than casual a discussion about unprotected sex and birth control came naturally resulting in both having a blood test at the same time. Sensible, straight forward and reassuring for both. Simple really.

  6. Divorce at the Amphur does not loose face. It is standard practice. The courts would never get involved unless there was disagreement and/or children custody issues to be considered.

She will loose face if she is not seen to capitalise on your assets. Something not quite right here. Can you be more specific about her objections? Are you legally married? Have you seen the marriage certificate?

  7. I have an ipad 2 and very happy with it except battery is on its way out. Should I upgrade this to iOS 8 ? Will it improve ipad 2 or make it go t1ts up? Has anyone tried please?

  8. This is a dumb question probably. On windows when upgrading the OS you can choose which version to install.

If I buy the iphone 4 (price v cheap now) I am assuming apple will want encourage downloading an OS upgrade at some point. iOS 8 could potentially render the iphone4 useless. Is there any way of choosing the earlier upgrade? Say IOS 6 or 7 ?

  9. That's the point something has to be done. Given Cardinals view, Bangkok is still at gridlock in many places, but, imagine if the sky train was not there! I believe an over road solution could be found mad implemented in a way where pedestrianisation can be capitalised on. For example the whole of the canal road could have a sky train. The Tawan Deng open space could become a multi story car park. A sky train single track could go down Huay jaew and all the way around the moat. The whole of Pra Sing could be pedestrianised. That useless sprawling police station (junk yard) could be substituted for a multi-storey car park. There are many other almost reundent government buildings for similar around the city. etc etc. to do nothing is the absolute last option.
