To be fair, it’s common sense that intelligence, same as wealth, cannot be distributed evenly; that there must be smarter and dumber people; and that there are more dumb than smart people. Though thanks to the Dunning–Kruger effect, most people may protest against this thought. Anyway, no surprise that referendums tend to lead to subpar outcome.

Everyone has gone mad, burkes, hijabs, what is happening here is people's rights are being removed under religious freedoms.

I find no issue with a woman wearing full head gear if her religion (law) states that she must wear it in public, and if she is religious, than that is her religious freedom, however if she is entering a place where security needs to see everyone's faces like at an airport or immigration office, license department or stopped by police when driving to identify her, so be it, but if they don't wish to comply with the countries basic (laws), then ship them back to where they came from and they can wear them there day and night, in other words, can't have your cake and eat it too as the country they are in also has the right to provide security to it's citizens under their (laws).

Apart from calling people something that can be “shipped back”, I agree to all of the above.

    Indeed!   Most are far improved.

That all depends on your personal preferences. I guess most Thais would think their country vastly improved as compared to 20 years ago. I even think many expats (those that are here for work) would think so.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that there are things that one thinks could be improved; and, of course, that also doesn’t mean that there aren’t people who think differently.

it seems very strange that a Thai can’t open a fund in Thailand that invests in domestic and international shares for the long term...

It may very well be possible. I guess what I wanted to say is: Western countries offer a much broader range of funds and stocks at a much more competitive price. You’ll find ways to invest in international equities from here, but you’ll be limited in terms of choice, and you’ll pay ridiculous fees. That’s what I think; I may be wrong. Report back.

@welovesundaysatspace The British vaccine developed in Oxford and manufactured all around the world mostly working with AstraZeneca but lets make no mistake, it's as British as any vaccine right back to the very first one which was also British.

    Isn’t it a Swedish vaccine? ????

And while we are it, what do you think about the German-American vaccine developed by Turkish immigrants produced in Belgium? It can get confusing when you’re trying to take pride in someone else’s achievements.
