  1. 85% of Thais polled want Obama to help solve the Ya Ba problem in Thailand. I wonder how he would do that? What else do they want him to help with? Stopping womens' underwear thieves?

Obama could care less about Thailand's internal problems. He is busy transforming America.

Busy transforming America into a banana republic... It's so broke now and will never be able to clear its debts. Why would Thailand want to align itself with 'friendlies' like USA? As for Barry being more popular than the two politicians here, that's a no brainer, as the two here have no international presence or recognition other than negative or useless press.

Other than trillions spent on Bush's wars and trillions spent to stabilize a banking or mortgage industry thanks to a cavernous abyss of debt created by CMO, REMIC, MERS Corp, AIG credit swaps, CDO and the wonderful idea for Freddie, Fannie and Ginnie to guarantee CMOs so Chinese would buy them (ALA BUSH 2001 to 2008) . . .

US is doing fine. Bush, Chenney, Rove et al. did more economic damage to US banking infrastructure than any other Anericans in history of US. They all got fat and happy though in the process and so did people like Trump, but at the expense of taxpayers bearing the burden of the guarantees by Freddie, Fannie and Ginnie.

You apparently have no clue of the economic strain in US created by just CMO and MERs Corp between 2001 and 2008 when Fed stepped in. I know first hand what happened on banks books during the time and the lead in to TARP.

The CMO problem is an abyss no one can quantify and it is debt which continues to default daily and will do so into the future. QE 1, 2 and 3 had more do do with CMO and stabilization of banks than most people realize.

Until that cavernous abyss of bad debt is filled in with something, like a ton of cash, out banks will not become stable reserve wise for many years. The other option was to let them fail which I once thought prudent between 07 and 09.

Obama and Fed made a conscience effort to save our financial infrastructure, including AIG, Freddie, Fannie and Ginnie in an effort restore stability to our and the worlds economy. This is actually working, but it is a long and expensive process no one likes to discuss (i.e., big 3 banks failing).

These actions will actually pave the way to real recovery as opposed to becoming a "banana state." We are getting close actually.

Market swings are simply response to QEs as they have to park all of that cash somewhere. Corporations PLs are as strong if not stronger than ever right now.

So I hate to break it to you, US is actually doing dang good right now (except for core selfish Republicans hating on idea of having to pay more taxes even though they already have more money than they could ever hope to spend) and Obama and Bernacke have actually almost stablized or financial industry which I once saw as an impossible feat without permitting default on all CMO tranche payments to Chinese and letting AIG and the big three banks go under.

So . . . Your statements reveal a high level of ignorance regarding US banking and economic issues.

  2. PM Yingluck Tells Deep South Of Govt's Plans To Restore Peace In Region

Does anyone know when the kickoff date of this new plan is?

It was kicked off 204 days ago.

Her program achieved this distinction covering from 3,125 days ago

this year had been the worst for vehicular bomb attacks since violence flared in the Deep South in 2004

    .

Your agenda is naked, old boy.

Playing devil's advocate here, but what would you have her do when military round up like Tak Bai leads to coups. Probably afraid to do what really needs to be done due to divided public opinion on use if force and the Yellow shirt spin machine that will go after her if force is used.

  3. Truth is this combined with Syria and Iran's support and supplying of weapons like Fagir-5s being lobbed at Tel Aviv, this all is going down the path to ending bad. Real bad.

Time to move past making excuses for both sides or trying to see one side's rationale. Some things cannot be rationalized as some cultures may view death and turning that whole area into glass a victory.

I am afraid if Israel does not take out all threatening rocket systems and something serious makes it into Tel Aviv, we are going to see more than air strikes and little 500 pound bombs falling on Gaza.

I am a bit surprised that there is very little media attention in US on this right now. The selfish bastard Republicans on Fox continue to whine about taxes and how much money they may lose and other news channels have typical Nancy Grace weekend fare.

  4. That is hard to read. Choked me up a bit, maybe because I have daughters 17, 16, and 1.

My two oldest have been to Thailand with me, but they won't go there on their own as long as I am alive. My oldest is going to Australia and Bali (to surf) on her senior trip.

I see parts of Thailand as one of the most dangerous places on earth for young women and this is primarily due to apathy and dishonesty of Thai police and Thai officials. The Thai mentality also attracts the most undesirable and maladjusted vacationers from around the world who seek their cheap and sick thrills in Thailand with impunity.

  5. The Tak Bai incident in 2004 was a typical example of why people have little faith in the authorities in Thailand. This was a joint police and military operation to gather over 1000 of the protesters and have them transfered to the local military base and it all went terribly wrong. This is an ongoing problem in this country where both the police and the military lack the most basic skills in the execution of their duties. This resulted in neither side having any realistic belief in the ability of the forces of law and order to act in accordance with any sort of structure or protocol. They simply make it up as they go along.

You say gather protesters. Didn't they go their to gather terrorists who were committing atrocities and then running back to Tak Bai to hide out and hide weapons. Perhaps they should have just brought military in and treated situation as a war. These "innocent farmers" were slaughtering people including fellow soldiers, friends and family of the Thai military.

How does one effectively deal with terrorist that indiscriminately kill and hide out among women and children?

The real atrocities apparently occurred after the coup when army effectively tortured individuals considered to be terrorist suspects, but those of you with a hard on for Thaskin elect to focus on Tak Bai and classify the terrorists rounded up as innocent farmers and mere protesters.

  6. The cause is terrorism, the effect is loss of life ,property damage, fear and a neverending debate and speculation as to whether it is politicaly movited or sectarian. Every effort should be brought to bear to remove /negate such activity regardless of who or why. The Government and local administration are the ones who hold the responsibility for the rule of law and the last time I looked , shooting people and random bomb attacks were illegal.

I agree. Acts are illegal and focus should be on bringing them to justice. Didn't they fry to do that once before at Tak Bai and got nothing but criticized for hassling a bunch of innocent farmers . . . Who were in fact terrorist and gun suppliers.

  7. Political. Yeah right. That's what all the whacked out Muslim terrorist like to say. Just a <Snippin> excuse. Those whack jobs actually enjoy killing and causing terror to innocent civilians trying to live in peace.

Quote from the OP: Yesterday's attack, at around 7.30am, targeted a five-member team of military dog handlers travelling in a pickup truck

And they killed who. A woman. Was she military. Was any if the 33 injured military. How about the shop owners, were they and the shops all military. Making excuses for them puts you close to the same level.

If they wanted to target a military target, then hit it when it leaves the middle if a shopping district where women, children and innocent people are. Truth is, they like the collateral damage as it gets better head lines so just more bs.

Don't be ridiculous. How have I made an excuse for the dead and injured in this attack. I was quoting from the OP news report as to the suspected target

Why else need to say both political, not terrorist or due to Islam and then make issue out of military target? Whateva.

  8. More proof of Islam, the religion of peace.

When are you going to stop your misinformed posts & acknowledge that it's not about religion, but politics

Political. Yeah right. That's what all the whacked out Muslim terrorist like to say. Just a <Snippin> excuse. Those whack jobs actually enjoy killing and causing terror to innocent civilians trying to live in peace.

  9. If they want peace they better get a new suicide watch team. Not much more sickening than for parents to see their children die in prison.

Picking up the bloody pieces after they have been blown apart by a bomb might just top that. Some terrorist dies in prison - sympathy factor approaches zero.

There we go using that word terrorist again - thinking that one word can define this problem - very intelligent - once again.

I was merely pointing out that picking up the pieces of your child killed by a bomb may be a little more disconcerting than the news that your "freedom fighter" offspring (possibly responsible for similar bombings) has died in prison.

I would like to hear your more intelligent description of those who plant bombs to kill anyone unfortunate enough to be in the area, and in particular target schools and teachers, in the name of some obscure and unstated political goal.

They are terrorist scum. No reason to sugar coat it. Anyone that indiscriminantly bombs little children, women and innocents is right their with pedeophiles as the lowest form of human existence.

No , not quite correct , the muslim radicals want a secular state , separate from Malaysia and Thailand, sort of politics.

I want 300 +/- foot Lurssen. Should I blow innocent people to smithereens until someone gives me one I like. You give them a secular state and they will still find something to be pissed about so they can blow something up.

  12. and those that claim size doen't matter are in denial - am I in yet ? she doesn't know and niether do you, I can only imagine whistling.gif

Sharing first hand experiences regarding size and knowledge of penis size obsession is always appreciated to help the rest of us understand why somebody would go to such an extreme wink.png

lol. wow Nisa you do have have a sense of humour after all - give me your email and I'll send you a pic beatdeadhorse.gif

Called sexual frustration. Does tend to take away sense of humor, causes one to age early and leads to early onset of Alzheimers. Dang, diagnosis Nisa.

  13. I wonder how and why this story was made public. I doubt anybody involved would want this publicized and it seems fairly certain the cancer was not related to the procedure and the amputation had to do with cancer and not an infection. I also highly doubt somebody who is obsessed with his junk to the point of repeatedly altering would allow an infection to spread and get so bad that it spread to his testicles and not be alarmed by such a severe infection since he had done this procedure many times.. But who knows this story is written or translated very badly or the folks being quoted are borderline retarded or all three.

Maybe it's not the folks being quoted that are retarded, but the person trying to make sense out of both that and the correlation of whether injection of a foreign body or substance in one's penis could develop into a granuloma formation and calcification with presentation similar to that of a benign tumor. Depending upon size and extent, given location, removal of affected organ may be necessary.

In other words you are suggesting he may not have had cancer while defending those who cut off his penis because they said he has cancer and those reporting he had cancer while at the same time defending their credibility or accuracy in this report.

I believe its possible the word tumour may have got lost in translation. A growth is a growth, but it may not necessarily be cancerous.

But if your todger swells to the size of a melon, it might not be immediately life threatening, but if it won't go back to normal and is untreatable, most doctors would probably recommend to take it off.

Yes, someone with some sense. The tumors on that girls face are just ganuloma formations that calcify. Foreign bodies trigger this response. The damage to the penis could result in an inability urinate and there would not much else that could be done but swacking it off Loraine Bobbit style.

<< Inflammatory comments removed >> No, I am suggesting that injecting foreign bodies into his penis over time resulted in gralumo and calcification. This present as cancer.

Dude, just look at that Korean girl's face. That is very likely granuloma formations that will eventually calcify if bit already. This left large tumors all over her face.

Doctors cannot cut thus stuff out safely. If penis got like this girl's face, no option but to casterate. Will get the point he cannot pee due to tumor like growth.

Remarkable how bad your analytical abilities are.

  15. The US is keeping its ties with the Thai's because everywhere else in Asia, they have been kicked out of the countries they occupied. They need a FOB in case China gets too fiesty and starts trouble. Same with any other country in Asia.

Kicked out of where? Can you name one strategic advantage that this will provide that we don't already have? Presence is political and economic. Strategic in terms of military necessity. I also don't think we are that concerned about China right now. They are more dependent upon US than US is dependent upon them. We can destroy China's entire economy in a matter of weeks without doing anything. We just stop accepting their currency causing it to rapidly appreciate thereby making their exports no longer competitive or affordable price wise.

  17. Many issues here, hard to keep them separated and in their proper place.Imo The BIB did what they had to do and did what they could do.The fact that the alleged rapist has been allowed bail is a thing the courts handle.I do agree rape is a terrible thing and should be dealt with according to the law,but the law in Thailand and in Holland are not the same i would think.I personally know a girl who was raped in Bkk about a year ago and she did not even bother to report it to the police, she just quit her job and went back home.

People here are outraged by what the courts did, letting the rapist out on bail does not mean he is off the hook.

Is justice in Holland any better?Last week a very well known K1 fighter from Holland was also released after he spent some months in jail for attempted manslaughter and lying about it to the police, many Dutch people are up in arms about that case also.

I do not know all of the details but it does show not everybody is agreeing with court decisions but courts are guided by the law and like it or not we have to live with that.

In Thailand, seems that very little is decided by courts, except drug cases, and most everything is resolved by paying victims and officials off. Did those two guys sentenced to death and then released on bail ever return to jail?

Candidly, Thai officials will influence findings to what serve their interests more than the victims. Their posture now reflects having system, evidence and media whirlwind all to find victim brought this on herself so they look less incompetent. Urging such beliefs at this stage is directly contrary to administration of justice and is, in my opinion, reprehensible. So is publishing victim's name and photo in rape case, but this is about par for course based on Thai moral compass.

  18. It really does get incredibly old to have such ignorant people believe an entire group or race of people are corrupt based on news stories of individuals actions. It is like they never read the paper in their own country.

Indeed, although not as old as the Thaier than Thai drivel perpetuated by some that the natives can do no wrong.

If you really were so ignorant to move to a country without knowing even the basics then your not too bright and even less bright if you then remain in the country for years and repeatedly moaning and groaning about things you cannot change and that you complained about thousands of times ... yea the police can be corrupt here. GET OVER IT or GET OUT but just quit your freaking moaning and groaning about the same stuff over and over especially when such things are not even relevant to the the thread.

I wish you would take a dose of your own medicine.

I have never seen a post indicating Thais can do no wrong but have seen a plethora of posts condemning all Thais.

As for taking my own medicine, I would if I had the same ailment, I can effect change by pointing out to people how ignorant they are and how their issues arr within themselves and not with some other group and have had people thank me numerous times to standing up to such ignorance and making them feel it is okay to post non-hateful and sometimes actually positive things about Thais.

That works about as well as those silly Thai face saving video and press releases. Maybe we all are not the ones who is suffering ignorance.

  19. No telling what report says now. Thai cops are somewhere between Keystone cops and Mayberry. And no, money don't get you out of crap in US. Seems like stars, athletes and financial guys actually get it worse now than the little man.

Aren't the Keystone cops and Mayberry based on cops in the US? You are incredibly naive if you think money doesn't buy you a better justice than the poor in the US (or just about anywhere else) and as for the cases that make headlines for famous people, yes they do sometimes get stiffer sentences just like the one here where you cry the only reason they got jail time was because of the publicity. But bottom line it seems you think the US justice system is just as corrupt but instead of favoring the rich and famous they favor the poor .... not sure any rational person would agree with this view but good to see you coming around to the reality things are far from perfect all over and certainly even more messed up in a much poorer and less developed country. But go ahead and keep pointing out the obvious, it is like constantly pointing out and complaining about the rain in a tropical rain forest ...and I believe in your case, one you don't even live within.

Haha, your funny. Brother is Agent/ LE and I am a lawyer. Clerked for Court of Crminal Appeals and Supreme Court of my State. My first boss, judge, out of lawschool was AG from maybe 97 until a few years ago. Forgot date. My large firm handle securities litigation, white collar crime and represents politicians, judges and lawyers when they need counsel. I am somewhat tied in to the system.

But what you don't mention is being part of or living in reality ... or Thailand for that matter... when it comes to the wealthy being able to afford a better brand of justice than the poor but the fact you want to pretend this is not the case in most the world over (including and possibly especially in the US) then not really much sense debating as it is like debating about if the surface of the sun is hot. wink.png

Not to mention there is any hint at all, and actually an indication to dismiss the possibility, the accused is anything but an average Thai. So again, just seems like a subject to bring up to bash for one's own self-esteem.

Huh, haha, completely nonresponsuve. Talking to you in person must really be entertaining . . . and confusing. Somewhat like talking to someone with Alzheimers. "Hey pop, did you have a good lunch this afternoon?" "No, I haven't seen Santa Claus today, was he supposed to come by."

Oh yeah, Keystone Cops and Mayberry were comedy routines not reality in US. Unfortunately, seems to be reality in Thailand. I guess you get what you pay for at 300 whatever for 7 day work weeks.

  21. I am sorry but just an attempt to justify this situation is a discrace, there is no excuse for the the lowlife scum NOT to be in jail from day one. If we still want to be known as a turist paradise in the future then now is a good time to show the world what justice is. The people who thinks this is a attack on the tourist industry are the same causing harm by trying to hide and deny cases like this.

The comments from officials are for many tourists a severe case of CROSSING THE LINE on how NOT to handle a RAPE case.

Are you suggesting a tourist haven is one where people accused of crimes (including tourists) are to be called scum, convicted without trial and denied bail?

No, an arrest, a trial, and a long prison sentence would be appropriate. But will it happen? Depends on how much money the creton has to spread around, who he knows, and he his family is. Case closed.

Did you just wake up today to discover the rich, all around the world, can buy a different kind of justice than the poor? But in this case it would seem the facts are...

Foreign Women and boyfirend out at bar together.

Boyfriend leaves (possibly at girlfriends request according to one report)

Women hangs out drinking and eating with local who she then leaves with.

Women found with facial injuries reportedly from a motorbike accident.

At hospital doctor says she shows signs of being raped.

Women goes to police who pull up security video from the bar and women identifies her attacker.

Women leaves Thailand after making police report.

    Police arrest suspect.

Court grants suspect bail (we don't know how much the bail is) against police wishes

Suspect is currently going to trial.

Am I missing something here or is it the same all song and dance of how police are corrupt and any Thai arrested for a crime (especially against a farang) is guilty while any farang acused of a crime (especially against was probably set up.

No telling what report says now. Thai cops are somewhere between Keystone cops and Mayberry. And no, money don't get you out of crap in US. Seems like stars, athletes and financial guys actually get it worse now than the little man.
