  1. Another sicko ....... lock him up and throw the keys out, his fellow inmates might take care of him ????
  2. Somchai, the forensic expert, found out, that he "suspects that they are foreigners". Well, I would not argue with that assuming, that coming from the Philippines, a Thai citizen would have chosen another mode of transport ????
  3. Absolutely correct is the statement "just sit back and see what happens in the next few months." And for all those pensioners, the relevant paragraph reads "on money earned in the previous tax year". All pensions received now have been earned 20, 30 or 40 years ago and safe kept to be paid out much later than a year after having "earned" it. Law fodder, I know, but - as said - wait and see!
  4. He might try to understand that his job is not pleasing his underlings but rather getting his tens of thousands of corrupt underlings to do their job they are hired and paid for. Of course there is internal fighting over which highway robbery team may stand along highways and intersections to extort money .........
  5. The (incomplete) picture by Matichon wraps up political democracy devils very nicely indeed - congrats are in order!
  6. On the risk of getting banned; Thais manage to put up any such poles like toothpicks into a jelly. Go across the Mekong to Laos and - later soil erosion excluded - those poles are put up absolutely upright, in a straight line and equal distance. Reason for that is simple (as per a Lao construction supervisor I met); we have to do the job and are paid ONCE, if the job is not done properly, we have to go back and redo the job at your expense. This is where the message lies; so many jobs are being done twice, three times etc. and each and every time Somchai rocks up, the bill is to follow ????
  7. 500 Baht is a booking fee, forfeited if not picked up. By ALL MEANS do not pay in full as you do not know, if and what exactly arrives and - by experience - once it is paid, you are toast as far as dealers/vendors/sales staff is concerned. If they do not go along with the practice they deal with Thais (i.e two tier treatment) then just drop the line, that there are other Honda dealers in the neighbourhood or next town - which usually gets things moving as they do not want to see their sales commission disappear into thin air!
  8. "Thai senators are preparing to lodge a complaint with the Icelandic government following an incident where Doctor Porntip Rojanasunan was thrown out of a Thai restaurant in Iceland by its Thai proprietor." The Icelandic government will have a hell of a fun day with that "complaint" lodged where. Interesting is, that those appointed senators, of which this woman in question is an ample example, have not understood, how this planet works. In most other countries people speak their mind, vote their choice and are not faced with all sorts of bans, prohibitions and some other clowns cooking the election books. Calling Thailand a democracy has never been a bigger joke than what we all could witness over the last ten years. Well, if it fits the Thai electorate without protest and complaint - fine with me. But, if some Thais voice their opinion like that, they've understood democracy to the utter dislike of those eliterian oligarchs creaming off all the goodies as appointed rather than elected. If Thai voters are sick and tired of all this, then it might be an idea to revamp the present situation in such a way, that such governmental set-ups become impossible in the future. And that is exactly, what those goons do not want.
  9. Following his Daddy's populistic path, it seems ......... So do we eventually see renaming Banharnburi into Varawutburi anytime soon?
  10. "hotel’s full name was withheld due to an ongoing fire investigation" Excellent news for a tourist-dependent place. Will most likely jack up visitor numbers by triple digit percentage now ????
  11. Well, there is possibly only a one-digit percentage of Italian restaurants in Thailand serving authentic food - everything has to be adapted to "Thai style". Pasta seriously overcooked, unless it is local pasta which is not pasta; pizze normally could serve as manhole lids and have nothing in common with the Italian original, sugary ketchup instead of a pelati sugo, local salami which tastes as disgusting as it looks, anchovies moved in favour of "pla rah" - the Isan fermented fish of dubious origin and some even roll sausages into the rim of a pizza. I had risotto based on sticky rice, saltimbocca (using veal and sage) got altered to thin pork neck with Thai basil, etc. etc. etc. To recalibrate the tastebuds of Thais after 1 ½ to 2 generations of Italian food which has absolutely nothing to do with Italian food - uphill battle of the finest order!
  12. I sat into cabs just to get out again as the driver must have been seriously scared of Dracula. The stench of garlic was overpowering. The fellow, not having flag-felled his metre nor moved an inch insisted, that I would pay him the anticipated trip fare from Bangkok's Landmark Hotel to Don Muang airport ...... quite a discussion evolved - outside the taxi until a hotel staff just sent him away and suggested him to "brush his teeth" ????

  14. You have to take more responsibility for your own stuff here such as checking each and every stamp an officer leaves in whatever official papers you may have as, more than once, I had issues. During the days of Don Muang being the only airport and the immigration head office was in Soi Suanplu off Sathorn Tai road, I learnt my lesson. Instead of checking my passport immediately on the stamps I did that next day only. Long story short, immigration in Suanplu had a separate, dedicated counter on the ground floor marked "wrong stamp airport" where the official correction was made, without an apology for the inconvenience due to whatever-reason-there-might-have-been. At an another occasion I realized, at the counter upon receiving my passport back, a wrong date stamp. The officer took some liquid paper and corrected the wrong entry. Returning on a business trip to my (European) home country, the bells and whistles went off at the immigration there asking, why I had tampered with my passport. Result was, that I had to get a new passport, some (equivalent to) THB 5'000 and a half day wasted later I was on the road again. Hope, this clarifies your query on who blames who for what; quite obviously Thailand cannot be blamed for the fact, that the OP did not screen each and every action yet more attention to details by the semi-divine would not do any damage either ????
  15. Well, it is the shop's owner to decide if/who he serves and who not. Obviously the hairy senator has had not only friends for decades and Pita's (temporary) eradication off the political stage has been yet another bump on Thailand's road to a 21st century democracy. If, what this "Ari Alexander" did reflect the passive opinion of millions of other Thais (and apparently it does) then they might - likewise - want to resort to "vote with their feet", stand up and push for clarification on many unclear elements in Thailands political system. Is it newsworthy on this platform? Well, I leave that up to the distinguished reader; the Khunying however could, most likely, not care less - been there, done that!
  16. GPS: 12.919869 100.889958 takes you to the world's biggest "convenience" store - the ultimate overpriced monopolistic money pit ????
  17. Look up www.kss.co.th, a professional legal service provider where Mr Anuchai Autchayawat is your man. Contact him, let him go through your paperwork and he'll tell you, if they take the case or not. If not, then don't try elsewhere - they coached many PR applicants, all successfully, at a flat service fee and many others from PR to naturalization. The bureaucratic maze is unbelievable and you want someone to keep an eye on your file; KSS performed ten out of ten - anytime again ????
  18. Still did not quite get the inclusion of the fact, that the culprit works/-ed for a "top airline". Irrespective of all this, the airline most certainly did not hire him for his accused crime ????
  19. While the same country bans women from temple compounds or attract massive negative comments when wearing such a dress in the month of Songkran festivities ......... I do not have a problem but two-tier thinking remains, me thinks ????
  20. Well, maybe streamline the official statements a little; yesterday you've written about all those Chinese who "opted" to stay at home during their golden week this year which would account to not having gotten near any expectations.
  21. Aha, so that is how remorse is displayed? The uncle of Khun Thanathorn (Future Forward) had spent close to USD 100'000 for an auspicious car plate (9999) for his son's vehicle and now it's the tram. Good on him, me thinks ????
  22. "50,000 prisoners exercised this right in the year 2022" Could it be, that the conditions at the Bangkok Hilton are not quite Five Stars; just wondering!
  23. "part of the 24th generation of the force restructuring project (fiscal year 2567) exercising their rights under Article 105 (2), Article 107, and Article 135 of the National Police Act of 2022, along with Office Order No. 430/2566 issued on July 21, 2566. A rather nice write-up of bureaucracy, don't you think so too?
