There used to be a running thread, like a sticky, with track days listed, similar to bike weeks? I thought I remember that, but then I am getting old.....
I just want to take my bike and slowly and fearfully make my way around a track lined with danger. Seriously, just want to improve my cornering skills.
Are there any tracks with open days/times?

I haven't seen anyone post anything this year for track days? Where? What days? Costs?

I was in your business for years here in Thailand. Outsourced services to GM, Ford, Mazda, and many second and third tier suppliers. If you want detailed info feel free to PM me.

Haha, just a little fun on a Saturday.

As an update, there are alot of detours or scenic options when taking Onnut or Rammkamhaeng. Just take a turn and see where it goes. I found one of the best long twisty roads on my way to Khao Yai that way. Took an extra 30 minutes or so to get to my next waypoint, but that is the point isn't it?

She just needs to include a copy of the document where she changed her name, old and new copies of her ID card, and all is good.

I am glad someone else asked this as I didn't want to come off as a dork. I have been searching for years for good Khao Soi after my gf from Chiang Mai making it for me weekly for a few years and then eating it at several places around CM. It can be found but not very good. I found it once near the big Bangkok Bank building on Sathorn but can't remember where now. Cannot be found in Onnut or Prakanong.

Once again, the bikes in question were legally imported with the necessary permits
One would think that someone has been paid not to sign the registration documents
Someone was, by Harley. There is a new official dealer in Bangkok, who raised heck about all the grey imports and regular imports coming in. Story a couple of months back.

Yeah, we took both ways up Onnut and up Rammkamhaeng to Khao Yai. Both were decent, but Onnut gets pretty rough because alot of 10 wheel trucks hauling stuff and a few months ago there was alot of road construction. So for the first hour or so, it goes a little slow and rough, then you get to so pretty awesome twisty back roads. Easy on a scooter, as I passed many on my way. And if you go these ways you can come up to Khao Yai a different way than most, so more fun.

I guess I should have clarified. 1200 was for the bike only and they charge by weight. They have a fixed price schedule that cannot be negotiated. You then have to pay for your own fare. I paid an additional 1100 per person for a private air con sleeper cabin with 2 big beds.

In January this year, I paid 1200 baht from Nong Khai to Bangkok on the overnight train for a Honda VFR400 which weighs 182kg. The guys wanted a tip after they unloaded it, but that is up to you. They get paid to do their job. No damage, just very very dirty afterwards. It left 7pm ish from Nong Khai and arrived at 7am in Bangkok.

I have 2 VFR400s, which are very similar to the CBR400s, many interchangeable parts. I have had mine for over a year, and can say as long as you do your regular maintenance, they are great little bikes. I live off Sukhumvit near the Onnut BTS and have 2 shops in the area that are very knowledgeable about these bikes and can do all the maintenance and repairs that you are not comfortable doing yourself. I normally do my own work, but sometimes the heavy lifting is too much for one person. If you want to come around I can have a good rip on your bike and let you know if anything falls off! And if anything does, I can point you to the correct shop.

Great! Thank you

Where is that? What road please?

Sorry maybe a dumb question. This is my first time to go. Can someone please tell me where it is being held?

Paid my first fine at a traffic stop in ages, a year maybe? Anyway, on Rama 4 near Bangkok University, got pulled over today by the BIB. I could tell he was a little nervous. I spoke Thai and never removed my balaclava, and gestured for him to quit talking and wait as I slowly removed my helmet and pulled out my headphones. When I asked him why he pulled me over, he said because my motorcycle was so beautiful, laughed, and hugged me! Haha. Cited for riding in the wrong lane (I was all the way right in the 3rd lane!), modified exhaust, and my mirrors were folded in to fit through the tight spaces between cars as always on Rama 4. After just a few seconds, he returned my driver's license to me and asked if I could help. I was feeling generous, so I said "20 baht" and he smiled and said "Ok!"
Haha, most pleasant traffic stop I have ever had. We were both laughing as I sped away.

Heading to the Motorbike festival on Thanon Phetchaburi (from Suvarnabhumi)
I took this route last year and perhaps once every two months or so but today the section I have highlighted on the map below had one of its lanes blocked off but the outside lane was still open.... There were a few signs (all in Thai) but I couldn't read them, so continued unaware that 3 police officers were about to jump out from the pavement and into my path. I acknowledged them by nodding my head and indicated left but had absolutely no intentions of pulling over, you can guess what happened next, a blip of the throttle while they desperately tried to grab my shoulder saw me on my way and heading towards the bike festival. (my number plate is concealed so they won't be getting anything from me!)
Those 3 police officers must have made a small fortune today from bikers heading towards the show. If they honestly needed to close this short 200m section of road then why didn't they do a proper job of it and put enough barriers across both lanes to stop bikes/cars heading down that way..... It was just a lame attempt to pocket some money out of the non-Bangkokians attending the bike show this weekend.
P.S. the mentioned section of road was open 3 hours later when i headed home.....
Karlos, they block that lane on weekends. Normally no one but buses are allowed thru, no cars, no taxis, no motorbikes, no vans, etc. They want you to take the left there at Chidlom, then the first right. You follow that back around to Phetchburi, about 100 meters down from Chidlom. Many try to run it, but it bottle necks right there, and the cops are good about catching up to you at the light, which you invariably usually get caught at. That is one place that I actually DO follow the signs, whether in my truck or on my motorcycle. I see too many people get stopped.
Funny, I was in a taxi and we came up to it and the driver asked if he should just try it, I said "sure there are no cops, just go go go!" We got stopped, he didn't have his paperwork, so I paid what was on the meter and caught the next taxi.

The police station moved 100 meters up the road next to the fire station.

They seem to be at Sukhumvit 81 just across from Tesco every other day. Same 2 cops each day. I filmed them taking 100 baht off each of 3 motorbike riders. I continued filming after they noticed me but they stopped flagging bikes down so I left. I don't stop for just two cops ever. They are just doing it for money and almost never write a ticket.

Here is the place. They had every tool I have needed for my home tool kit. http://www.veerasiamhardware.com/Default.aspx

angryfarang, you are in Phuket aren't you? just take the spark plug with you to any tool shop and they will sort one out for you. That's what I did here in Bangkok. There is a section of Soi Pridi, Sukhumvit 71 in Bangkok that has good quality imported tools. It is a whole row of hardware shops. One has an online store and ships all over Thailand. I will look for the site for you. I bought my deep well 16mm socket for about 150 baht I think and just use my own ratchet.

Well day 2 and they are out again in front of Phrakhanong police station catching motorbikes. 2 days in a row! Gotta pay those bills piling up for the last 6 months.

As far as i can see it has the calipers from the early ZXR400(H model) and brackets have been made to allow them to work with the larger discs
The forks are off of a ZXR250, but the front discs???
It's most likely the stock VFR400 discs but the holes are drilled further apart than my Swiss cheese NC30 discs...... They are not ZXR400 discs, as their holes are drilled at a sweeping angle.
I checked to make sure they are not NC24 discs and someone's trying to sell you a dressed up NC24, glad to see those discs are not NC24 discs, it's possible that they are the earliest NC30 discs but i don't have enough time to look properly lol
Here's the calipers (ZXR400H calipers)
Here's the front discs on my 92 NC30
and the forks are above in the ZXR250 photo
Your NC30 looks absolutely wonderful!
She's gone now, made way for my 2012 Ninja 650.
I have been talking to the other half and i've got the go ahead for a track bike, i'm seriously considering another NC30 but it's hard to find a good one, i think a much newer ZX6R or CBR600RR without a book would be the best option but i sure do miss that V4 and gear driven cam sound......
If you go the NC30 route one of mine will be for sale shortly, maybe next month. I don't need 3 motorbikes.
Also as promised some better pics of the front end. It says "Min. Th. 4mm" on the discs. I dont know what that means.

FYI the Phrakhanong police are set up right now 14:30 on both sides of Sukhumvit stopping most motorbikes big and small for no visible reason. No cars. They must be making up for lost revenue by stopping everyone they can.
Why no 2014 track days?

Ok so I see Bira has open motorcycle track days 8AM-12PM for 1200 baht. Anyone have any experience on the track? How is the track condition for riding? Any groups head over on certain days to have a runaround?
