Or as they say in the Caribbean, “In the land of sun and fun, we do not flush for number 1.”

if the checks at #8 have been moved northwards on Suk then it will allow north bound traffic to turn right (east) to railway road, then left (north) and then off and away …… wont it?
-
Ah ha ! It seems that English is your second language Susco and if so then all becomes clearer. However try as I can unfortunately your post #24 is really confusing to me.

OK gentlemen, seems TOPT knows that junction and understood the post so why don't you describe what I saw in your own words. Thanks

got it in one.

The southbound U-turn to go north is blocked.
The north bound U-turn to go south is still open.
Today at 10.30a.m. 3 cars pointing south were queueing in the fast lane to go north by using the open south bound U-turn !
Unbloodybelievable

I started a thread Dec 27th 2015 suggesting it was crazily dangerous to open U-turns opposite MAKRO Sukhumvit. 257 posts, 18 pages and thread ran for a year. It is now proclaimed that the southbound U-turn will be closed permanently. Common sense rules at last. Took 4.5 years but thank you.

this happened to my neighbour last week. I drove him to airport
- He was renewing Retirement visa on anniversary date.
- Was told he had overstayed 12 months.
- Transpired that on last entry airport Immigration had stamped him an incorrect date before next renewal
- Three 90 day reports never spotted this during the year
- Many previous consecutive Retirement Visa stamps in same passport
- No admittance of a mistake ("your responsibility to check")
- Was told to leave the country immediately and come back asap
- No typical "alternative" solutions at all
- Flew to KL that afternoon
- Now back with 30 day visa and waiting for paperwork to be re-processed
Our responsibility to check

What a load of bother, why can't you die in peace anymore??????
dying (peaceful or otherwise) is not the problem, it's the possible unholy mess created afterwards for someone else (for whom you may care) to sweep up

have reviewed the site referred to and thanks.
No-one i know has passed yet but at our age it will happen. Better to be prepared than panic at what will be a sad time for all involved.
So hence the post and any info on what the Embassy does will be distributed and stored for reference.
-
unsure where this post should be
What does the Embassy do when a Brit has died here? For example is the NHI number used to eg stop state pensions and/or any benefits, (maybe?) close relevant bank accounts, etc. The question really is what has to be actioned here and then has to happen in the UK to be legal in the UK ? Thanks

Over 350 posts to browse now so apologies if this has been asked/answered before.
How long after expiry date can 5 year car licence be renewed? Mine expires early September but I will be overseas & will not be back until late September
Thanks

the general total lack of any moral compass it would seem - no one to guide others

for what its worth did my 90 day at 1430 today 11th at Jomtien and officer said bad computer problems so my new renewal date written by hand and signed

we should all try to be as responsible at the OP is, irrespective of age. Back home (wherever that is) there are typically processes and procedures established.
My father died at 89 in UK while I was in Thailand. Probate took 18 days - yes 18 days - as we had fully documented everything he and the UK system required. Life was made easier for me as Executor.
We should try to do the same here if at all possible. I have (I think) but I don't expect it will be that simple here regardless.
-
worth a try maybe ................. get your UK (or wherever) bank for some reason to write to you at your friend's address. Send them a letter (from Thailand maybe ) first which will need a reply. Such letters are acceptable to Immigration I believe

arrived 0845 today and took 3 hours. Busy so only clour eye test administered and 2 other tests skipped.
No medical cert. needed (she handed mine back); Immigration letter for proof of residence; original passport of course, copy and signed relevant passport pages, original driving license and signed copy. B405 for 5 year motor cycle renewal
QUESTION - many say that you can renew up to one year after expiry date but maybe should consider what happens if you are stopped by police with an expired license?

I expect we all have our favourite restaurants and no doubt favourite dishes therein and so would know the pre-covid prices.
Just pondering. Will prices rise when they reopen (to recover losses), fall (to attract customers back and stay off competition) or remain the same ?
Me? Not sure but think maybe they will say the same, initially anyway ! What say you?
