its a public holiday today. see you tomorrow.
forgot to say that quick my drive northwards was on Monday - not today Wednesday
-
drove north from Makro at about 0800 to BPH/Honda and with very few lights or turns to worry about the early morning traffic just flowed eerily easily. What a change and how refreshing ! Normally 20 minutes and this time about 10. Lucky or what?
-
if you are interested then there is a place about 7km from Pattaya going south on Sukhumvit about opposite Ocean Marina before Ban Amphur which now has several (maybe 10) old aircraft and an eclectic mix of other wartime memorabilia
-
go and have an evening beer/pastis at Bistro 89 (soi 89 eastside opposite Makro) and talk to Alain, chef Wanee's husband. Frenchman with perfect English too
-
going west (towards the beach) from Suk down Theppasit about 100m on the left

Think a Guy I know has opened a Skatepark in Pattaya, not sure about BMX's though.
That's a fairly positive & informative post Dave !

ch #676 at 1.30pm today

last year we renewed our TRUE Platinum package(s) for 2 homes. We were assured then that Ch # 354 (BBC Entertainment) was now included in thae package price as True had regularised their offerings now without paying different combinations with different 'extras'
On Feb 1st Ch # 354 is blocked
A phone call to TRUE BKK say that the 'promotion' has now ended and Ch # 354 will now cost B100 a month
A visit to the charming, helpful lady in the small TRUE office in the big Electrical store almost opposite the new INDEX on Suk follows today.
We are told many customers are upset & angry. She explained that she was informed of the new policy on Feb 1st too.
Once complaints started she informed HO in BKK sending an attached 2014 email from BKK HO which clearly stated Ch # 354 was included in Platinum.
It is now felt that the more customers who complain by email to HO and/or Consumer Protection Office about such incidents the greater the chance of a reversal or an avoidance of repeat TRUE shenanigans !!
Up to us

just this minute returned from seeing my excellent orthopedist, a Dr Pratya, who has operated (keyhole) and otherwise attended to my shoulder issues for some time now. Caring, experienced and professional. Certainly does not overcharge (today was 15 minutes and ultrasounds on both shoulders at B880). Am now unfortunately arranging another keyhole jobbee on my other shoulder.
But Mr Prospero please don't waste your time seeing this excellent Dr. because he works at BPH.

Just think how our lives would be so boring without other people. I love people watching.

"get a new digital box for free"
As a True internet user this is a wonderful free offer including daughter's favourite cartoons
"But True never give anything for free, say I"
"No charge and free"
"OK get the box installed"
Arranged, done and tested
A few days pass
"But where are the cartoons we saw initially on this new free box?"
"Oh, they were on a promotion for a few weeks. If you want cartoons then you can buy a package"

Had to laugh today, Tuesday, at about 5.00pm.
Getting ready to leave the Sushi buffet at north end of Tesco Sukhumvit when about 35 loud Cantonese rushed in quickly followed by about 12 robust Russians (?) with a few typically timid quiet Thais close behind at the rear.
The ensuing bun fight at the buffet was hilarious and not sure who was winning when we eventually sidled out.
Noisewise ? Easily the Chinese but for standing their ground I’d say the Eastern Europeans by a shoulder or six.
Happy times

now this thread demonstrated by the lively comments to date accidentally could be exactly what has been missing recently and could keep me and many others interested & following on a regular basis. There's no right or wrong but subjective observations are all valid. Comments and observations from those who have succeeded and/or just missed here will be more than valid and I do hope we don't start getting typical crass comments from those who lean that way. Thanks

In my view there's nothing meaty to latch onto on TV these days. Remember when Mobi had 50,000 views in 5 months (10K:1) before closing and now Raro is closing after 16,000 in 4 months (4K:1) - one of the busiest recent threads (and coincidentally an eating place I was just about to visit for the first time with some friends)
What's missing in TV Pattaya forum? Much just seems insignificant.
Why is there currently nothing of substance to keep we masses amused/informed/intrigued and regularly viewing/following?

no traffic chaos - can you believe?
in Pattaya

pray tell me what do Wednesdays, weekends, public holidays, a drive south for lunch at Bang Saray, and heavy traffic going east-west today have to do with my original specific post about less traffic lights and less turns on Sukhumvit during a normal rush hour drive northwards ?
