Enjoy your stay.
Thanks. Actually I've been here for yonks but had cash after missing the pre Brexit rates, as no doubt many of we non-believers did !!!

Many thanks. Negotiated very fair rate with TT yellow kiosk in Jomtien beach road. Couldn't find address for supererich. thanks again
-
advice as to where to exchange quite a lot of pounds ( the rate will make a substantial difference) for a good rate now as at 24th November (44.2 : 1)
Many thanks

the north -western (seaside) area with the turning space has now had plenty of sand strewn over it. Some steel rusty rebars still exposed sadly. Sand taken from eastern side so big hole there now. It will be interesting to see how this whole area develops and who becomes responsible for upkeep. It could turn out to be a very successful relaxing family picnicking area although car parking not plentiful.
Ton Haad settling in nicely with eastern restaurant area being properly developed and plenty of furniture on the beach itself.
No further movement from SY restaurant yet. still just empty sandy area

silly me .......... should have said on the right going east from Suk !
-
The London Pie Shop (Chaiyapruk, about 400m on the left east of Suk) are going to start mince pie production next week. Hopefully as tasty as last years.

Sawasdee krap, I am looking for a condo at Najomtien, any update on this one or do you know any new condo to purchase ? Thank you.
what is your budget ?

i think you will find that common assault injuries are scaled and published by the Court. A black eye is e.g. B500; broken nose B1000; etc etc so it had better be good to get a few months salary (and dangerous too!)

Are they different owners from a year ago do you know? we used to use them but the quality of the job dropped off so we stopped using them. they are the closest to me and would go back if different owners.
i really dont know. She is about mid to late 30's and maybe her father too is involved. The shopfront certainly was improved not so long ago as was the interior with free WIFI and water & nibbles
She also offers a card and the 11th wash is free
For about B200 try it and see as it's your local (as it is mine)

Soi 89 on Sukhumvit is almost opposite & just south of MAKRO on eastern side. Mr Shop/Tesco etc is about 500m on the left after the railway
-
I too have tried many. Currently i use Mr Shop on soi 89 next to small Tesco and opposite market. Absolutely the best clean i have had in Thailand. Wiper blades cleaned( can you believe?), petrol locking cap opened &cleaned inside, and a fragrant air blown inside for a few minutes at the end. Used 4 or 5 times now and same quality service every time. Highly recommended. B200 inside/outside for CRV. Same quality for doing my PCX also. Attention to every nook and cranny.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear ..................
Zuma, Duterte, Trump and now these U-turns have opened.
The dangers are blindingly obvious ............. turning slowly into the speeding traffic fast lanes, getting from the southbound one almost directly across to Makro and then Underwater World departers who want to go south
Drive very very carefully.

I noticed on the southbound carriageway they have a quite large sign post overhanging the road indicating a U-turn
its about 10 meters ( maybe more ) before the still blocked off U-turn, while I very much welcome the fact that there is a prominent sign
( unlike 99% of other U-turns around Pattaya ) there need to be more early warnings of an upcoming U-turn on such a fast road as Sukhumvit.
early warning to give road users a chance to move to the correct lane for the turn and warn those not U-turning that some idiot is about to cross 4 lanes to either get to or exit the U-turn.
see my post ID 190 above Johng. You can play Russian Roluette but beware it can kill.
-
slowly slowly .................... continuous white lines with some hatching now painted on the fast lanes of each u-turn exit. They'll solve the potential Russian roulette problem right enough

So SY restaurant, as was, is now all cleared to expose the beach again. Ton Haad furniture (all movable) is laid out neatly on the beach and eastern side seating being extended. so maybe business as normal for them but this time within the law (well maybe just about)
It will be interesting if and when and by whom the current 'cleared' beach actually is eventually cleared of the remaining exposed rebars, rubble and low concreted areas.
An issue that is of interest to me personally as it is in front of my condo is the beach and the 'village sala'. This is now falling apart, and along with a rotting aquarium & rotting kids playground stuff is quite dangerous and the whole once relatively pristine area has been claimed and sadly despoiled by village locals (not visitors) over the recent past. Wonder if this is categorised as an illegal structure too. Hope so.
-
my perception after eating and chatting down there today is that long-time businesses like SY and Ton Haad have accepted the inevitable but are being realistically businesslike and will almost certainly use their beach fronts for movable furniture (tables, chairs and umbrellas etc) thus staying within the letter of the law, ie no illegal structures & encroachment on the beach. SY are currently removing their erstwhile restaurant concrete floors to no doubt expose a beach again.
The smaller businesses (exclude Sea Falcon maybe) still indicate they are hanging in there until the end.
Drifters on Saturday at about 1830 had 23 customers eating drinking and enjoying the sometime obscured sunset and heavy rains. Certainly will be missed by many. I am told they also plan to move opposite (east) into their shop-houses so who knows we may still be able to sit on the waters edge with a beer and Mon's pizza
-
Signs on both sides and my wife says they say be something like be very careful about these 'dangerous' U-turns.
No advance warning, just a sign directly on the turn .
Don't blame us and don't say we didn't warn you !
Hard to believe really

Is that "real" hardwood or just the nasty red-stained softwood that one sees in a lot of roadside places?
as petermik stated ......... 'yes', real. Go check it out yourself as they may still be there
-
The good beach restaurant know as SY just south of Drifters has now been demolished.
What a difference at the northern end of the soi - cleared and now so open & spacious
-
haven't read all the posts. For what it's worth we bought very satisfactory wood side tables (mortise & tenon drawer joints, good rollers etc) in the roadside furniture shop on left going south directly before Floating Market. About B3k each i recall. Doesn't look much from outside but definitely worth checking out what's inside
-
there are now two large holes either end of this new central reservation section between these new u-turns. Large & deep enough for tall lampposts maybe? And then ............................ ?
-
try the shop on Sukhumvit on the left going north and almost opposite the only U-turn opening between Tai and Klang . Huge range of leatherettess and has real leather too
Where can I buy mince pies in Pattaya?
