  1. Interesting. Those rpms are typical hard disk drive (spinning disk version) rotation rates.
  2. Well done! You have successfully gaslighted yourself. In any case, what you asked was not strictly relevant to what I asked. https://x.com/i/grok/share/46JKiK5fnw2P4VDhuqtHLxWRW - Grok is asked to answer in the style of Long John Silver, since we are talking about a kind of piracy. Also see the post by Johng above this one.
  3. I think the word "safe" is being used here in a context I am not familiar with. If he's referring to safe in all humans, and no human of any age in any condition would never have an adverse reaction at all, then I suppose I agree. Stillwagon points out (perhaps by splitting hairs) that no vaccine prevents infection, since even the vaccine prompts an immune response, and then of course the body is supposed to produce and store memories of antibodies to the vaccine. He also discusses adjuvants, preservatives and inflammation response as he describes how vaccines work. This has nothing to do with "safety" per se. I immediately thought about smallpox. This one has a high kill rate. I'd much prefer to have a primed immune system in case I caught that nasty virus. Perhaps the other chemicals in a vaccine vial need some attention.
  4. In order: I don't and I do. I was kind of poking fun at the comment poster.
  5. Before I moved here, I asked their support via in-app chat and they told me I couldn't. I have been here over a year now and I haven't closed the account yet. I expect they will come after me for some KYC at some point so I don't use the account any more.
  6. My first thought was "I wonder if the outgoing APIC members have any conflicts of interest?" Conflicts of Interest Disclosures of ACIP Members The corrupt revolving door of vaccine bureaucrats is worse than you think - Daniel Horowitz, July 09, 2024
  7. Which versions of COVID-19 vaccine prevented transmission and of which variants? As an aside, which versions immunised against COVID-19 - what was the success rate?
  8. Anti-vaxxers would not want it, by definition.
  9. I haven't done a Revolut THB transfer for a while, so this might no longer be correct... Revolut do not have bank accounts in Thailand. When you send THB from Revolut they simply send from outside Thailand to the target bank. Most if not all Thai banks hit you for a fee for incoming THB. I thought it was THB 300, but that was a long time ago. In any case I will have to close my Revolut account as one is not allowed to have a Revolut account when resident in Thailand.
  10. Strictly speaking, when you use the app you're using The Internet. WWW != The Internet. SCB don't support web-based banking. I have to use the app.
  11. I'd have a headache too if I was rocking that barnet.
  12. Maybe took off his shirt after the last check before boarding?
  13. I'd add their vaccination record to the mix. Edit: Have they given up naming the COVID-19 variants?
  14. "Ketchup is a vegetable!" - Frank Zappa (throwaway remark) For the Big Ag(g)ro lobby, for them the worst case is they just have to wait a few years for the next White House occupant to take the throne. If they do the proper prep they can make it illegal to ban known poisons from the food chain.
  15. It's gone up and down a few times this Millennium: United States federal government credit-rating downgrades. I don't know who was in power at those times.
  16. Is it also planned that, once they get their ducks in a row, this digital wallet scheme will be used as a vehicle for the "Digital Baht" aka CDBC? Apparently the wallet prevents the currency from being spent on certain items and in certain places.
  17. I didn't find this mentioned in the thread, so apologies if this was already covered. As far as "pension income" is concerned, it seems you only need to show a regular transfer from an account in another country to your Thai account. Is that correct? No need to prove it is from a state pension or occupational pension?
  18. Same here. I have never had a problem as far as I am aware. However, these transactions are automatically flagged and US.GOV gets to know about them.
  19. You'll still suffer a painful walletectomy on both the spread and/ or the fees. Use Wise, Revolut, currencyfair, xe.com or a host of other firms which specialise in currency conversion and transfer.
  20. Sending over USD 10K (or equivalent) has been an automatic flag for decades (yep, not inflation-adjusted). Of course, it's for our own good and is definitely not a way to keep tabs on innocent transactions. But I digress. If you were to try to send multiple amounts less than or equal to USD 9999, that is spotted too and is known as "layering", which might attract more attention. It seems the Thai banking system's guidelines make people look criminals on occasion, doesn't it?
