  1. LOL-15 minutes.Fly into a REAL airport Stateside and see that 15 minutes is nothing.

That's all not the problem,if I travel to other countries like UAE,Malaysia,Singapore or back to Europe, the passport control takes 1-2minutes per person, sometimes less than that, here in Thailand it takes 3-5 min.i think Thai immigration officers are afraid to make a mistake,or maybe their computer is outdated

Never flown into a major airport in the US, have you? I waited for at least 15 minutes in the US citizens queue at San Francisco recently

  2. You're a genius!

. Sheriff Kevin Walsh said he did not know how the FBI tracked them down in Thailand.

a law enforcement sheriff has no idea how to track a kidnapper who has been identified to the authorities ?

first ,they check his passport number in the central database, then they know the last time he flew and into which city

then ,check his atm .credit cards and see where he has been withdrawing cash ,then you have his neighbourhood /areas he frequents (say sukhumvit rd etc )

then you check how many farangs are in rented homes and guesthouses in this area (you cant rent anything anymore without your passport copy and landlord must sent that to immigration ,even if u only stay a night ) ,talk to locals about seeing a man with a little farang girl etc and show pictures of him to all the thais in that vicinity

and you will probably have him arrested within 24 -48hrs

how can a "sheriff" go in the media and say silly things "well,i dont know how ,but they found him etc "

its like homer simpson policework licklips.gif

  3. I wasn't aware Thai had -200LRs.Very few do in addition to Delta.I'm sure very few here even realize Delta used to fly to BKK.

I believe the problem with using the 777-20LR on this route is it is not ETOPs certified for that distance. If I remember correctly, the 777 must be within 3 hours of a landmass in the event of a loss of one engine. It certainly has the range, but the time over water is the problem. The A340-500. with 4 engines, does not have this restriction.

It used to be 3 hours, but has now been extended to 330 minutes, so that shouldn't be a problem for the 777 anymore

  4. Never happen-it's the national carrier and face of Thailand worldwide.

Mark my words; this airline will go belly-up sooner rather than later.

Product sucks; marketing sucks; advertising is the pits and with so many cross-configurations of equipment (Rolls Royce, GE and Pratt & Whitney) and the alleged corruption on all levels it'll be game-over soon.

And they're still flying those lumbering fuel-sucking 747s which must be more than 18 years old now.

Such a shame as if they'd gotten their act together it would be a power-house in aviation but they lost the plot ages ago.

Maybe the writing is on the wall which is why the Ministry of Finance is considering dumping it.......

  5. Hello, those 2 are already in custody-the 3rd is still "on the run".

Excellent news, hope it happens soon.

Missing in the OP is they will be detained for 30 days during which time they can appeal the extradition, which one of the lawyers said they intend to do.

If they are not extradited within 90 days, they will be released.

    .

what does that mean? does it mean if they turn themselves in 29 days before the extradition date, they get 30 days to appeal, then after the 90 days is up they are free?
