Pedro is right. Here's a few good article to read:

Hard for Thailand to argue with tariffs considering what they impose on imports here. Wine, cars, electronics, etc.
EXACTLY!!!

She said the Pheu Thai MPs would understand the outcome of the latest Cabinet reshuffle.
I think it's the rest of the country she needs to be more concerned about . . . she has her head so far up her (or her brothers) ass it's not funny any more.
That was my thought as well. How does YL miraculously know how the country feels about her antics and then casually dismiss them?
In any country you hope for intelligent people to fill political positions, but in this case what a backward, brainless woman!!
I believe she has expended everyone's patience waiting for a glimmer of hope that something of substance will appear!!
No way!!

You can't just assume the cable you have is the correct size for the next larger meter where you may think "it can handle it". Granted most cable that is installed is usually larger than needed but don't ignore it. You need to at least match your cable size to your meter amperage and you need to account for distance as well which means voltage drop. You didn't mention about distance. Some meters are 50 to 75 meters away.

I wonder what his cut was for doing the laundry?

Another " perp walk" or in this case "perp photo" to make a point about protecting Thai jobs, culture, etc. More like a warning announcement to walk the line in Thailand. Yes, the guy was guilty but these over exposed events are a bit over done.

I think it's a lot of "out of sight, out of mind". You aren't in their world anymore and they/you cannot relate anymore. When I came here I was relieved to get away from the complaining and they do nothing about their situation.
Not my problem if I can fix my situation and they are stuck in theirs.

Personally, I take the Stickman news with a grain of salt. He likes to stir the pot to get responses. Responses he wants to hear. He likes a very narrow conversation. So what he is saying may only be a stimuli.
He's ok to read if you have no experience in Thailand, but gets boring after you're here for a while.
Should be Winnie the Poohman.

Yes, in BKK it was on occassion dificult to get into a bar in popular areas where there are not many foreigners, even accompanied by Thai's. Not realy a problem, but allowed to enter wasn't instantly. The bouncers sought permission first.
The staff was happy when we bought "Jack Daniels", guess they don't like cheap drinkers there.
Pretty soon, they'll have special restrooms and drinking fountains for the "not colored folks".
Perfect!!!

And this is why you don't risk overstay.
Is this also a blacklisting offense?
I wonder who reported him to immigration for them to come and find him, and why?
That is my question as well about reporting. He would have been fine until someone dropped a dime on him.
Usually the culprit: jealousy or even he didn't pay wife/gf money he promised.
Going by the OP, immigration knew the passport answer before they asked the question

For those of you that do not speak Thai BS, let me interpret.
It has nothing to do with the coming reshuffle in the army, she said.
It has everything to do with the reshuffle.
The government and the army have fully performed their duties in the past two years, the premier said.
The government and the army have not performed their duties in the past two years.
"He will have a clear picture of the overall commercial and agricultural spectrums," she said.
He has no clue what the f__k is going on.
Teerat Ratansevi, spokesman of the PM's Office, said new cabinet members are enthusiastic at fighting against corruption to "create a new era of ethical government to be recognized internationally."
The new cabinet members could care less about fighting corruption and the new era of ethical government doesn't exist.
The prime minister has asked for public participation in suppressing corruption in the country, he said.
Public participation in suppressing corruption is useless in a society of corruption but it sounds great internationally.

No evidence at all of suicide. In fact the news report seems to be pointing at a medical condion. Have a bit of respect for family & friends.
To me the newsreport seems to be pointing that the police solved the case without moving from behind their desk.
Sherlock Holmes did that too in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's books
Au contraire...Holmes always went to the crime scene...
But who doesn't hear the bells ringing when this happens just as the GF is out of town....?
If the BiB don't investigate the GF then that is a crime in itself.

Move along folks, nothing to see here, just another suicide.

I'm not sure what the medical condition is of blood around the ear. Possibly struck behind the ear? That is where pros strike their victim when they want to knock someone out with one blow. Then the victim would drown in this case.

I have to say this doesn't sound like a typical scam case.
She simply changed her mind after meeting him in person and decided to bail out.
I mean she could have taken him for the full ride - land, house etc.
But another typical story about a stupid older farang & a young Thai woman. I implore Lonely Planet to put warnings in their travel guides!!!
I love his quote. Every time we read about these stories, the farang always complain that he was conned.
But has any of them ever admitted that they were stupid in the first place??
Mr. Michel told our correspondent he sought help from police because he did not want other foreign men to be duped like him.
Actually, I think it is a typical scam. The reason she didn't wait up for the house, land etc. is she can queue up for the next victim much faster. I'm betting she has another in waiting.
And.. you know this guy is totally naive because he thinks he needs to warn other foreigners. If had been paying attention he would know most foreigners already know about the scams. He's living in a vacuum. He making a pretty good income and usually people like that are out of touch.

I assume the survey didn't include foreigners/expats or else those numbers would change.
We should be included as well! I believe with a little effort we can win this competition for Bangkok!!
Apparently you have spent little or no time going beyond BKK. Its a crisis in rural areas.
Actually I have in Buri Ram and many of them are drunk around the clock drinking on rot-gut alcohol.
Bangkok has a concentration of population which could sway the "competition".

This is the first I have heard of it and it hardly sounds legal/fair to discriminate against specific spouses on the basis of nationality. Unless they are going to stop covering all spouses, which would be a huge change and which I also haven't heard.
Suggest you call the SS office and get the info straight from the source. http://www.sso.go.th/wpr/eng/contactus.html
I have learned that using the word "fair" in describing anything for foreigners in Thailand doesn't seem to fit.
And the Thais discriminate where they wish and don't feel they need to explain their actions.
But, I confess, the only place that doesn't apply is in the Ministry of Labor. That's an exception.

I get the feeling that the AEC is going to operate the same way as this particular scenario along with other businesses. Inclusionary countries can do what they want but outsiders will be crucified.
Well, an expansion of the Thai doctrine.

After being given erroneous directions 100% of the time by Thais, I gave up on them a long time ago.
At first, I thought it was a "screw a farang" thing, but I later realized it was it happen to every one.
-
They can't give directions because they cannot orientate themselves...so they just follow landmarks....
...just like women do..
Hmmm...I thought men navigate by landmarks.

Better suspension. Especially on the front.
Bigger engine, rims, and tires.
I like the auditory blinker idea.

No, no mate, Bangkok is in the beginner class compared to us in the North, we've held the championship for years and the prices are lower too! Fancy a drink?I assume the survey didn't include foreigners/expats or else those numbers would change.
We should be included as well! I believe with a little effort we can win this competition for Bangkok!!
Frankly, I take that as a challenge. And I take that as a insult to veteran drinkers in Bangkok so it's time to put up or shut up. We have the numbers and I think we can take your fragile title in a sweep! What are the rules pray you!

Nothing against the Russian but that's hardly semi naked. I see women walking down my street wearing that.
Article states that they gave her a shirt.
Thanks I missed that. Fact still remains.
