1. "to bad it doesnt happen in the west more often when rich people are allowed to steal investors money and walk away with a fortune"

My friend, please run for president coz if you promote this idea I will surely vote for you. If enough ppl did as you recommend we would surely have a "new world order" where the crooks would quickly stop such crimes against those whom they rob.

Mate. the shyIT is happening now, but the world is catching on. The ba$tards are trying to pull of the biggest wealth shift in history, STEALING, by way of rock-bottom interest rates.

Yes, they have changed the rules half way through the game and are STEALING the real savings of people who have worked lifetimes in HONEST jobs, for savings that have been taxes SEVERAL times... but

    yet they are not satisfied.

But the tide will turn believe me.

  2. The GOP fear The Donald for one main reason, he has the war chest to run a campaign without relying on big-money donations from big business, foreign interests and wall street... He can spend as much or more than any other candidate without a dime in donations... Despite the views posted above his message does resonate with the average American that has seen their quality of life diminish under both mainstream parties... Anyone remember Ross Perot? Same, same, no different than The Donald... If Trump continues without getting laughed out of the race, he could split the GOP vote and hand the 2016 election to the Dems... It's obvious big-money opponents are already running a smear campaign against him, after all, he is such an easy target...

And THIS crazy sombitch is currently #2 in GOP polls! What the HELL are Republicans THINKING?!?!?

Maybe hoping for a protest vote? Every yank i talk to says America has gone to the dogs because of Obama, who was only voted in

    on the PC card.

One guy even stated Obama will always be known as the limp dlck president

I'm a yank and you didn't talk to me. I like Obama. He's done a reasonably good job. I resent the appellation you mention. Have u been looking in the mirror too much?

Well i remember a stage in history when a certain country invaded another and was raining bombs on innocent women and children.

At that time the whole world was waiting to see what Obama would do.

And he did pretty nuch nothing, until it was to late.

  3. I haven't read the whole thread yet, but i'll wager you a bet, even at this point you will not get a sincere answer..

    why?

    because..

Farangs here, as a rule, generally hate each other, as they all want to be the one special farang, the one savvy, seasoned world traveller who knows EVERYTHING,

And anyway, why would you want to even talk to them if your a sane Aussie, Brit?

All they are interested in is their own voice...and giving a lecture on their vast knowledge of all things ( not just Thai)

  4. Actually it's 300 000 for Thai modest 2 bedroom house with toilets and Thai kitchen.

Never seizes to amaze me the number of foreigners who think they can get a bar girl straight .

You can build them a house, buy cars give millions and it still would not be enough.

People waste 30 years of their life paying off mortgage and these parasites think they should have one for free because daughter has a vagina.

    You cannot read? My post

that both parents of hers are dead would seem to conteract with your crass statement

as for bargirls, well..you bringing that up only confirms what you are used to

    In your world.

my former post, if you can read, is my gf earns 12500 baht a month.

hope your bargirl earns more than that :0)

I don't think he was talking about you specifically but rather what is truly not uncommon in Isaan. Perhaps he or friends have been scammed. It happens.

I know a guy who backed a loan with loan sharks and almost got himself killed when no one would pay it. He had to do a deep runner. I know another guy who legitimately paid cash for a house on Thai family land and when the family wanted him out some bad guys showed up and convinced him he should run for his health. There is no true rule of law for anyone much less a farang.

You will do what you want to do and no one will stop you. Just remember that there are no tricks available that will secure your investment or your health. If someone can think of one it's been tried. The last resort is that the "brothers" show up and convince you your life is worth more than money. True.

You are nobody in Thailand and the Thais will win that. Loan sharks are particularly dangerous and they set loan terms to get the house, not the money. You won't like their collection methods and they are already outside the law.

If you can afford to buy this gf a house and never think about the money again that would be a nice gift from you. If instead you are trying to preserve assets there really isn't a way once you get involved.

    Cheers

From what is stated in the OP it sounds like he is proposing to "Pay As You Go", which to my reasoning is more preferable to getting suckered into signing a statement claiming that the money didnt come from foreign sources.

The fact that any (unmarried) foreigner can bail out to his own country pretty much unscathed at any time counterbalances

the prospect of being scammed big time IMO.

Unless of course you are totally stupid that is!

  6. You must at least hand it to Thais in that way, it is not a well know trait to pour scorn on the average farang who lives here and cant speak Thai.

    Says the 'farang'.

    555, I couldn't make these posts up!

(PS nobody from the main western countries has to give up their current citizenship to be come a Thai citizen)

Excuse, i haven't researched the topic, but i thought read that it was a requirement for Thai you must give up your citizenship.

I know Australia don't allow dual citizenship, thought Thai was the same.

  7. Note where I said 'choosing to live in'.

Note where I said 'expected citizenship'.

I purposely avoided the word immigrant because I didn't want to get sidetracked into the usual pedantic stuff about visa types and citizenship. The intent of my question is clear - is it ok for foreigners to choose to live in your home country and make no effort to learn the language?

If that's the question you are referring to in your last few posts, then allow me a shot.

Of course, in most English speaking countries speaking the language fluently is a requirement for citizenship,

along with taking an oath/pledge and knowing the anthem. etc

Without these requirements you don't get citizenship <full stop>.

Farangs staying in Thailand are not usually looking to give up their own citizenship and become a Thai citizen, unless they

they are firmly planted here with a successful history with Thai family, house etc.

SO.. as they say...up to them!

And yes, up to them, if they don't learn Thai and choose to stay here long term, they put themselves at a huge disadvantage

    in just about every situation.

In places like Australia scorn is poured on any nationality of people that live there and don't speak English, but lets face it,

the typical ocker Aussie will take any opportunity to have a shot at an Asian.

You must at least hand it to Thais in that way, it is not a well know trait to pour scorn on the average farang who lives here and cant speak Thai.

Up to them..is quite fitting for this argument. I dont get why you guys argue so vehemently about it.

  8. The argument you describe.."better not to know" is routinely used by those who cant be ar$ed learning the language.

I did bother to learn the language,

and quickly worked out that every white guy I knew (bar one) was married/dating a former sex worker who was fleecing him for everything she could.

While a Thai husband waited in the sidelines to collect the 'take'. The white guys wouldn't listen, and I gave up warning them.

    PS

I've just found out the 'good one' has just stolen over 2Mbht from his bank account.

Totally gutted, I thought I had found one that was different.

Fair enough, I havent read the whole thread but im not sure of the point you make..You seem to say its a useless language to learn, but also write about how

advantageous its been to you to speak Thai.

My experience is completely different to yours. Of the last 6 foreigners ive come in contact with, ALL their Thai partners have REAL day jobs.

Poor paying ones granted, but i assume they are happy to have someone provide for them and stay in a nice

condo with a decent quality of life, rather than being in a flea bitten 1900baht room with nothing in it.

None of them will be fleeced i imagine, because in all cases the girl has been made to realize the guy isnt rich and relies

on a small but comfortable income stream.

But yeah, these guys are all in suburban BKK. If i lived in Pattaya id expect to hear very different stories. And by

saying that i am not having a shot at Pattaya either, its just the class of woman you meet there.

In the case of guys getting fleeced, same as always..they allowed it to happen. If you give your GF (of any nationality) access to your bank account,

what do you expect will happen when things go south.

That is just stupidity and something ive never done, even in my home country.

The other point that Thai is useless outside of Thailand strikes me as strange also, as the same applies to any language.

If i learned French or Mandarin or whatever, i would hardly have any need for it in western speaking country.

  9. The argument you describe.."better not to know" is routinely used by those who cant be ar$ed learning the language.

Simply because they haven't got the ability, or think it is below them to have to learn something.

In the cases of some of US..they think they know everything already, so its a bit hard to swallow the pill of being a lowly student.

Also in the case of English teachers. Cant count the amount of times ive heard this...

" I don't speak Thai, or allow Thai to be spoken in the classroom, because...."

Then further on in conversation it becomes clear they cannot speak one word of Thai, yet when hearing Thais speak nod their

    head and pretend to know.

Its just one of the reasons i no longer work at schools that have these <deleted>$ working.

  10. Gangland stuff. He was marked for death for reasons we'll probably never know.

Isn't it always about the money?

These guys make their money and when they've had enough its more viable to run it into the ground than do the honest thing

On the wind-down, take all you can from the business...Last three months pay no bills and collect all the money you can.

Oh, and its not a Thai thing either, just look how Mr Trump does more or less the same thing and its made legal.

Im not saying thats the case here but if it is the som num nah.

to bad it doesnt happen in the west more often when rich people are allowed to steal investers money and walk away with a fortune

  11. Yes, i quite naively assumed taxes were for provision of goods and services used.

Consider an average Australian expat living outside Australia (under pension age) :

-doesnt get any government assistance or benefits, therefor is not a drag on the welfare system.

-doesnt use any government services whatsoever...roads, sewerage, ect

-doesnt use medicare or health services.

-doesnt use medicare card, therefor not asking for subsidized medications ect (if unemployed)

-doesnt need to work in Australia, so theoretically leaving a job opening for someone more needy.

But dont worry about all that.

Aus gov gives you NO taxfree threshhold, like every other Australian is entitled to.

Aus gov demands over 30% tax from ANY income earned from Australia. Interest on savings, rent of home ect ect

They even get the banks to automatically deduct an "overseas" tax on money spent on your credit cards.

    WHY: because you don't vote.

easy to get angry, but better to get even by beating the system

  12. Looks like Mr "Goh" is about to make a break for it on that rather nice bike. whilst the rest of 'em, the cops, the fat farang, the mia farang are too busy smirking, pointing and congratulating themselves. I doubt any of them would be able to catch him. However just hanging around his mother's house for a few hours would inevitably see him turning up to kin khao and have her sak pha.

Well somebody caught him, and they are the only people in the picture...Sherlock.

By the way...your comments about the people don't show yourself in a good light, would you have the guts to talk that way about these people face to face? It's interesting that the only thing you said anything good about is the bicycle.

Don't worry, im sure someone on here will come out and say the bike is a chinese knock-off and he's a cheap hapless bast6rd thumbsup.gif

  13. I learned through hard experiences when in the Developing or 3rd world you hire 3 lawyers.

The 1st to do the transactions.

    2nd to watch the 1st

    3rd to watch 2nd & 1st.

None of them know about the others and you redact any identification..

Haha Yeah thats a good one.

Kinda reminds me of something very similiar to what they tell the farang numbskulls here. They make up for you this "company" that you as a farang can control 100%.

No Plobrem!!...All you have to do is appoint the 51% Thai proxy owners who are either:

-Your Thai Wife, her trustworthy family, or Thai friends you can trust. giggle.gif OR

-Trust a lawyer to arrange 2nd or 3rd parties (thai) who dont know each other.gigglem.gif OR

-(Even better still) Lawyer finds Thai ghosts who puts down signatures. thumbsup.gif YAY!!

How could it possibly go wrong ??

    cheesy.gif

  14. DId anyone ask him to explain the context of his comment about coal having a million year sustainability?

Maybe something was lost in the translation? Surely if you said this in the western media you would be getting a few please explains? blink.png

Where is the Thai media when he comes out with this stuff? They rubbished him when he said he likes to eat bread in the morning, saying he wasnt being nationalistic ect, but these kind of comments dont warrant any scrutiny?

Or maybe it is this fracking? (that seems to be f-cking our planet). Maybe they think we can keep that up for a million years?facepalm.gif

  15. Excuse me,

Does anybody know that this guy in his older years even KNEW the girl had a husband?

Is it not feasible and possible he didn't?

Is it not also possible if she was his caddy and in regularly contact with him through golf, that she had strung him a line?

Furthermore, the guys saying he was messing with another persons wife? Do we know this to be fact? Is it possible they were no more than friends?

Finally, I know of many Thai men who send their girlfriends/ mia noi's/ partners/ wives to work in these jobs as Caddies, hostesses, bar girls ( as cashiers of course! ).

They care very little to what they are doing provided they have the money at the end of the day/week/month to go do what Thai males do which is drink Lao Khao, Yaa dong, cigarettes and the local karaoke bar calling in at the local cock fight for a quick gamble on the way, topped off with a quick smoke of illegal drugs,.

From all ive seen and heard here I'd say that was a pretty spot on assessment.

Nearly every Thai woman i've met here has claimed to be single. The ones i could be bothered with, ive gone on to discover that they were lying. I have no doubt the others were lying as well.

In any case, I'd find it more believable if the shooting was because the Aussie stopped the payments

  16. The army think they can get away with everything, but watch my words, a civil war is what's in the brewing process.

This is a delusion typical of farangs living in red shirt areas and getting most of their political input from their Thaksinist g/f. It is based on UDD propaganda and totally ignores that the die-hard reds don't have the numbers, let alone the passion. Of course, both of those can be boosted, but it will cost a lot more than B500 a day next time.

Thats what they were saying during the the Yingluck campaign, and look what happened!

  17. I have just tried all the natural remedies, lime juice/baking soda/apple cider vinegar/ and eating healthy. I have always exercised and am the correct weight. Despite all this my uric acid level did not shift even a decimal in 2 months. I just experienced the worst attack of my life and saw my DR, allupurinol 300mg and colchicine every morning for a month, then check levels again.

I asked about allupurinol and taking it for the rest of my life, she said its quite possible once your levels are brought down that if you stop taking it it, you may be gout free for a couple of years, but deep down the problem exists and will come back as its not curable. Therefore I am quite skeptical about all these home remedies replacing allupruirnol haviong tried most of them already.

Anyway, good luck to you all whatever you are taking.

    Good to know

I also have stabilized somewhat, although im sure what you say is right in that it never goes away.

Lately, on the reccomendation of a pharmacist, i have tried NEOTICA. I take the allupurnol as usual but dont take either daily, preferring to take either, once per 3 days. Seems to be working so far as have not changed diet or drinking habits

  18. "She get very upset, telling me that it is not the same. She said that Thai women expect benefits in a marriage, and men needs to give "benefits" in exchange of having women in bed and taking care of its needs."

Now see, this is a conversation better to have had before getting married...

Exactly. I dont understand what goes on in these guys heads. Surely they must have known what the women was like before they married.

I can understand the frustration when these other bltches get together and BS to each other. I can tell straight away when my GF has been around those types, she comes home in a plssed off mood.

The only way around it is to find some way to keep her away from the vultures .moove far away or something

Actually the best thing to do when you start a relationship with a Thai woman is tell her your more or less living month to month..ie waiting for monthly pension or rent money or whatever.

They can either believe it and stay with you or P.O.Q

    either way you win!

  19. To Plutojames88, I think you've said your stuff to make us giggle a bit, a send up of the conspiracy theorists ?? smile.png

I'm now going to say, that I reckon that Thaksin IS actually (secretly) backed by the USA. Remember, America has constantly backed whatever leaders in whatever areas, America has constantly 'meddled' in other countries' situations. Let's put it this way, if America (the West) was to not support Thaksin, well, Thaksin really would be a person would no power or influence, he really would be irrelevant.

What are you babbling about? You think anyone that gains power and influence must first be endorsed by America?

    1. America itself is not "the west", although many of them would like to think they are.

    2. Taksin has no power or influence outside of Thailand, only with his family and followers, mostly in Isaan. In fact, the only powers he does have are those that any rich dude would have worldwide. Not mentioning of course, his riches are ill-gotten gains, the fruits of corruption.

    3. In the past, America has only meddled in things that gained themselves power and money. Siding with countries engaging in war (selling them weapons) and profiting in lands where rich American republicans have oil interests.

  20. The control freak froths from the mouth again---a liar must have a good memory=====Problem here is that he has a prolapse of the memory.

Thaksin is fully at home on stage fully believing what he says is true. He has completely lost his marbles along with anyone who supports him. To my mind most of the family are of the same thinking ( they actually believe everyone loves them).

Errr sorry to be the one to break it to you,... but everyone here DOES love 'em. rolleyes.gif

Thats why they have one every election here since (goodness knows how long).... somchai was a dek dek.

I suspect its that way because the lowly poor (with questionable education) out-number the rich by not small percent.

AND the Thaksins at least gave them (the poor) the crumbs that fell off the table...certain others would rather vacuum up the crumbs and feed it to their dogs before they gave to anyone else.

It seems the only ones who object fiecely to the good doctor are the rich Thais...who rely on the poor for cheap labour and the provision of cheap food..

and off course..those who hate him with a passion...the insignificant minority that live here but dont have the rite to vote wai2.gif

  21. Maybe a more telling questions to consider would be.. how is debt repatriated? or how are loan defaulters dealt with? (by law) in Thailand?

You can look out on any road outside your window in BKK and see thousands of new expensive cars getting around, but if you look beneath the surface they say that personal debt in Thailand is getting to the point where its off the charts crazy.

In any system like this there must be a correction sooner or later, no matter what the market is ..unless of course, Thais have perfected some foolproof system that is bubble-bursting free

A previous poster talking about real estate and land prices was interesting. I believe the rates (money paid by householders to government for goods and services) on private property is virtually nothing here. I guess thats how people can still survive here (allbeit poorly) and are able to sit on real estate while having limited income.

(If i owned a house in Australia but had no income or savings to rely on, i would probably be forced to sell the property after two years, just to pay the government its yearly rates and taxes. And unlike the rich dodging taxes, you cannot swindle your way out of that one.)

Interesting that the Thai cut interest rates recently. I think they know something is coming and have followed the policy that every other country has tried already. Its a last ditch effort when you've tried everything else but all is still going to Sh7t.

I believe worldwide, our governments are not telling us the real story about the debt problem. They simply do not want people to know, as they dont want to be held accountable for doing nothing about it.

Thailand will have its turn soon enough i fear (but hope i am wrong) The next one will probably be so big it will make the tom yum goong crisis look like 10 baht falling out of a hole in your pocket ermm.gif

  22. Did I imagine that just 24 hours ago he stressed that the rule of law must be followed. Today's outburst said that basically when he thinks he has bought enough support from the retarded and feeble-minded, screw the rule of law and democracy, he will rally his slackjaws and attempt to gain control over Thailand through terrorism. Entirely predictable IMO.

By 'retarded and feeble-minded', are you referring to a large portion of the electorate?

Just want to know where you're coming from.

A large portion, but less than 50%, is that what you are referring to? Interesting to see that Thaksin's bald lies and absolutely contradicting himself publicly in less than 24 hours does not take the shine off him for the enamored.

Pats on the back to Baker,Bell,Botts ,Peroff and big Bobby A. You polished a turd boys.

gigglem.gif here we go again! In the previous speech he says no to coming back to politics or rehashing the reds...but now....

I will give him cudos for one thing though (if he does actually beleive it)....at least he knows that giving the poor a little piece of the pie will keep the economy and businesses going. Whatever gets given to the poor gets spent anyway.

Thats one thing i seem to constantly argue about when in Australia..the numpy mentality..." give the dole-bludgers nothing" ect ect

A lot of the idiots who banged on with that for years conveniently change their minds when they open their own business and realise that the "dole money" is what gets pumped back into their businesses and the economy.

Just that in Thaksins case he is clever enough to make sure he owns the businesses (mobiles, communication ect) that the people will pump the money back into whistling.gif

  23. educate thai,s to get it into their heads that all foreigners are not rich, would be a start.

    Of course you are rich,

you can afford visa fees and afford plane ticket half way around world, afford to stay in nice hotel, afford to have long holiday without working, afford to eat farang food, afford to drink beer around the clock...afford to buy .... ect ect

at least this is what im told by current GF. so by their standards, YES you are rich.

    Silly thread tho really.

Q.Does your country put a hold on urgent issues so they can consider how to make it a better place for Asians?

  24. his search for true love continues

    True love ?? In Thailand ?? This must be a Gee-up?? cheesy.gifcheesy.gif

I mean, how how thick are you guys??!!

My GF has a friend from Buriram. Every time we meet up i usually spend a good deal of the night helping her translate/answer the latest English messages she couldnt quite understand (which are many)

Her errrr boyfriends...i am guessing from memory..an Italian, 2 French, 3 Brit, 1 New Zealand, 2 Aussie ( these are just the ones she has actually met...NOT including the dozen or so from websites!!!)

Of course they probably all think they are "the only one"

She even shows me you guys profiles on the dating sites. I have to giggle...mostly Aussies who say "I am good man, no butterfly, am looking for good lady with good heart .who DOESNT PLAY GAMEScheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif

the funny thing is they cant even understand most of what you are saying

Hey i probably know a few of you guys or posssibly even talked to you clap2.gifclap2.gif
