  1. It was closed about 2 years ago.
  2. This topic has certainly run its course now. Mostly 8 pages of bickering, baiting, off topic and nonsensicl posts. The topic now
  3. You can find info about the smart visa here. https://smart-visa.boi.go.th/smart/ There are certain ones that do not require setting up a Thai company.
  4. You could enter visa exempt to get a 45 day entry at this time that can be extended for 30 days and then apply for the non-o visa at immigration. See: https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/8-1.pdf You would need 800k baht in a Thai bank on the day you apply for the non-o visa. Then during the last 30 days of the 90 day entry from the visa apply for a one year extension of stay based upon retirement. The 800k baht will need to be in the bank for 2 months on the day you apply.
  5. Vancouver is a official Thai consulate and can do everything the embassy can. The correct name for the non-o for your wife is one issued based upon her being a member of you family. Family members of a person entering to retire cannot get a certificate of entry along with others. They only issue them for family members of a person with a work permit or who are the parent of a child attending a formal school or families of diplomats. She can get the non-o visa for retirement and then apply for a extension as a member of you family after your extension based upon retirement is issued. Both of you will need the 40/400k baht insurance coverage valid for 90 day to have the non-o visa issued.
  6. The consulate in Vancouver is a official Thai consulate. They can issue a OA visa. Only honorary consulates cannot issue them. Official consulates are listed at the bottom of this page. https://www.thaiembassy.org/
  7. I just opened the site using the link. I suspect you are using a VPN. It will not open if using a VPN.
  8. He was already late for a mailed in report on the day he mailed it. The actual requirement is that it has to be received 7 days before the report date.
  9. That is only for the non-o visa application. For the one year extension it needs to be in the bank for 2 months on the day you apply during the last 30 days of the 90 days the visa allows.
  10. It certainly does not have to be a return ticket. A onward ticket to anywhere would be accepted. Do a search for "onward ticket" and you can find several sites offering temporary tickets for as little as $12 US.
  11. You would apply for a one year extension of stay based upon being the parent of a Thai. If you are not the legal father of your child by way of marriage or legitimization of you parenthood you will not be able to apply for it. See this topic for info: https://aseannow.com/topic/381917-how-to-gain-parental-rights-as-a-father/ 1. To apply in Phuket you child would have to be living with you when the extension is applied for. I assume you are aware that you will need 400k baht in the bank on the day you apply for the extension. 2. If the 60 day covid 19 extensions end you could apply for a 60 day to visit them one time.
  12. I did not see that as being the reason for the topic done.
  13. The blank page is due to a popup message being blocked. Turn off any popup blocker you have and try again.
  14. Many people entering the country do not need a return or onward ticket since they have a valid visa when entering the country. The last time I entered the country I used a non-o visa that does not require one.
  15. Because they have to be approved at the local immigration office are forward to. If they do not have a record of you last report they would reject it. It does work for many people. I was not able to do online reports for about 5 and half years due to an old entry and new passport. After they fixed that problem last year I was able to it online. I have now done 4 of them. I mailed in my reports at one time when the moved the office further away that made doing them in person was impractical. Then they opened a branch office here in the city (10 km from the house) about a year and half later.
  16. Not visa or extensions of stay related. Moved to here.
  17. You could before January of 2015 when the changed the rules. They did it in preparation for the online reporting and also they had already started doing them electronically at local offices. Mail in reporting works good at most local offices.
  18. You can try to apply for the 60 day extension first. Some offices might do it without doing the 30 days first. They probably would do it if you apply for the extension to visit your wife.
  19. They will not issue the 60 day extension unless you have already applied for a 30 day extension.
  20. They would let him apply for the covid 19 extension instead of the one to visit his wife.
  21. Yes but you will first need to apply for a 30 day extension of your 45 day visa exempt entry (a VOA is only for 15 days and is only for those from 21 countries). If the 60 day covid 19 extension is still available you could apply for it. You wife has to be with you when you apply for the 60 day extension to visit her. You will need your marriage certificate plus a copy. Copies of your wife's ID card and house book registry. For all 3 of the extensions you will need a copy of your passport photo page, arrival stamp and extension stamp if you have already applied for a one extension. And a completed TM7 form with a 4 X 6 cm photo attached.
  22. You first will have to apply for a 30 day extension of your visa exempt entry. Then you could possibley apply for a 60 day covid 19 extension. The 60 day extension to visit your wife is one per entry to the country.
  23. You left out one very important step. The first step is to apply for 90 day non-o visa entry at immigration before applying for the one year extension. Certainly no need to apply for a 60 day extension first.
  24. He was correct in both of his statements and FYI he has Thai nationality after applying for it. A Thai national is not required to have a Thai passport. The only requirement is being registered in a blue house book and a Thai ID card.,
  25. In reality that is not required. I am aware of many people that have gotten a COE without a onward ticket that were entering visa exempt. There is certainly no requirement to have a round trip ticket for any reason.
