I have no idea if they are Russian but definitely East European

I was in a  beer bar  in Jomtien in a Soi back in September

Quiet day time no customers only the farang owner and he is having a conversation with me .

Up comes a family I presume are Russian with two small kids

They want to use the toilet inside.

    Toilet ! Toilet ! Toilet !

Shouts the woman holding a toddler by the hand  in a European accent

The bar owner hesitates then points inside ,then without a nod or word the family proceed inside past us

10 minutes later they walk out ,the bar owner looks at them ,they totally ignore him and proceed to walk past him without a glance ,smile or a thanks

He goes to check on the toilet and is shouting

"They Shxtted over the seat he shouts

Shxtted everywhere the disgusting pigs !

    They left the diaper !

The farang owner is getting the mop and dry wretching

Family holidays?....without lack of public toilets

Would you  as a beer bar owner let a family use your facilities ?

It's the same with parking !!

You have a space outside your beer bar or shop and some Bxastard wants to park their motorcycle there !!!

In general its about manners and asking nicely.

As to the parking, sorry but it is not your road.

People replying you have no idea what they are talking about.

Prices for root canals vary depending on which tooth ad they can have 1-4 canals, the more canals they have the more it costs plus whatever complications dentist will encounter.

Big fancy clinics and hospitals will cost more and have lower quality of service while the cheaper ones you probably won't want to be in if you look at the age of the equipment.

With that said root canal can cost anything from 15-30k and the crown will be depending on materials and clinic 20-30k

Tell us which tooth and that will make estimation more accurate.

Any the way every dentist has price list online so you can just ask them about your case on line or read their website

About right, and of course the front teeth are the most expensive in general.

I needed a new bridge which included a root canal and an implant pin. I also had 2 ceramic crowns on either side. All of this was completed in under 3 weeks. That was done in Phuket 14 years ago and they have been great to this point.

Sadly Dental treatment costs have  soared in Thailand....and many other countries

    So around 20,000 baht !

    Great price,I don't think I have seen I cheaper

How many times did you have to go?

Was it like 2-3 times ?

38k per tooth with root canal included.

Usually 3-4 visits, root extraction, temporary tooth, new tooth a week+ later, last appointment  for adjustment etc.

In Pattaya (at BPH) a root canal is approx 15,000 baht, a top notch ceramic crown is approx 16,000 baht and maybe 2,000 baht for misc fees/supplies etc. If a pin is needed for the crown then that is approx 4000 baht.

So about 4 visits and about 35,000 baht.

    Hope that helps.

Last week I checked this out, nearly all quote total of 38,000 baht in Pattaya

More likely a loose connection at the meter (fizzing and flickering is a dead giveaway), PEA will have a screwdriver

As to why only at night, who really knows, cooler temperatures maybe.

Quite right, the connections have overheated being loose and now are working overtime, easy fix for PEA

More great news for the Chinese tourists - NOT.  Are the Thailand authorities 'listening' - this is just one of the many many things that Thailand needs to address STRONGLY. Trial and execution within 2-3 months - that is about the only thing that will stop others doing the same thing when they get angry.  Drunks killing people, military/police nutters killing people/babies, boats killing people, women being raped and killed, people being killed in Malls, etc etc etc. All the positive PR and Rhetoric in the world is not going to work (anymore). Yes it happens elsewhere too - but not every day - day after day after day. Media story today about 7 Police arrested for corruption and another charged with rape. On and on and on it goes. And it is more and more impossible to 'cover it up' and just keep smiling.  The problems Thailand has are all post-covid - all the other local countries (except Myanmar) are going better - economically and socially. Yes economic growth and properity will solve a lot of the problems - but it is not coming quick enough - a lot of Thais are seriously struggling.

Has it not crossed your mnd that there are other reasons why the Chinese do not come to Thailand?

    Ie

The food served to them is Chinese, sometimes lower quality than home.

    They stay at Chinese Hotels

    The transport is Chinese operated

Everything they do is Chinese managed

They are herded around by Chinese touts

    They think Thailand is dangerous!

They might as well stay in China!

So now Thailand thinks the rich Russians, Taiwanese and Indians are here!

I have been using the program quicken for over 30 years. In the past each time I bought a new computer I would buy the latest version of quicken and load my past data in the new version. I think it is time to upgrade my computer but looking at quicken they have gone to a subscription type of service where I would have pay a fee each year to keep using quicken.

Do you use something that keeps track of all your financial accounts in one place and would you recommend it? I am thinking it might be best to convert to using a spreadsheet.

Look at "Money hub" it's possibly the best.

Sorry to barge in but visa issues do affect a majority of foreigners in Thailand who don't give a sh** if Putin comes or not.

Fine, but I feel we have many Visa choices, from long stay, to 90 day or 30 day or Retirement, family Visa, and border runs etc.

Of course its very annoying about taxation, many foreign residents do not pay tax in their home country or here, but then complain, I understand, but Thailand want some taxation.

Remember its their country and we are welcome under their rules.

And the USA on the other hand are arming and financing other "dictatorships". So it's a balance. Who cares if Russia deals with Thailand ? What the majority here are rightfully worried about is the tax changes next year and if long stay tourist visas will be given with less hassle to quality european tourists (90 day visa exempt).  Buying Russian oil will lower inflation in Thailand and that's what matters.

So really you are concerned about what affects you only?

Why do you expect 90 Day Visa Exempt? You can easily apply for a visa.

Tax is an expected issue for all of us and to date I see nothing that's says retired will be effected.

As for oli, Russian Oli is not going to reduce inflation at all, rather assist the Russian Dictatorship.
