I was thinking the same as we're in Pattaya at the moment,

I was hoping it would be quieter too. We'll just grin and bear it in one day in the next few weeks.

Please let me know etc. Thanks.

  3. Hi there

I used to day visit Koh Larn Island many years ago but stopped because of the hordes of Chinese etc.

What's it like at the moment?  Is it packed?

Which is the best quieter beach and how much should I pay for beach chairs etc?

    Any advice, thanks.

I know, hence my question.  It was you that suggested to uninstall it which didn't make sense.

Yes, I agree my response was too casual, I meant initially to delete the shortcut, clear the browser cache, etc, restart and effect a new Facebook shortcut, etc.

How do you uninstall a website you access with your laptop browser?

Facebook is not effectively installed on your computer rather it is a web page I suspect you have a browser problem.

Have you tried to access your account using another browser or computer?
    Does the same issue happen?
The first step in any troubleshooting is to clear the browser cache/cookies.

*For Internet Explorer browser: Press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL simultaneously and click Delete
*For Google Chrome: Press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL simultaneously and click Clear Browsing Data
*For Firefox: Press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL simultaneously and click Clear Now
    (other browsers are similar)

Let me know if still an issue.
  6. Unfortunately, most servers in Thailand have very poor security so you will get viruses and Trojans here.

It certainly does not help if like some friends etc you look at certain sites and download pictures etc.

The best way and simplest is to save your all passwords and important files to a USB memory stick etc, save all your contacts and emails and phone numbers and then reformat your laptop to a fresh setup and reboot your phone.

Quite simple to do at any shop etc (Dr Com, 3rd floor, TukCom) if you are not confident doing it yourself.

Windows Defender is a great protection system, but not foolproof.

Never open emails and files from unknown sources.

If you have a true Windows then make sure you keep the Windows Key etc to reload.

  7. I'm in Pattaya Dec for 6 weeks, and my bike and car licenses are 1 year out of date, where can I go to get sorted, rather than the hassle of the license center?  What sort of costs etc involved?

    Thanks for any constructive advice.

OP, its the car that's insured anywhere in the world, That's why its called car insurance and not driver insurance, Thailand is no different.

The default for any car insurance is usually any authorized driver, with possible exemptions for under a certain age, learners etc.

As others have said, check the policy, but unless its a specific policy that only covers the owner of the car, it should operate as any other car insurance.

Sorry to say, but rather wrong, for instance, in the EU and particularly the UK the insurance is specific to named drivers and named cars.....of course there are exceptions.

  9. Points for Scotland:

They speak Scottish (Which might be harder to understand)

    They are in general friendly

    It rains and snows.

    It can be very cold

    It can be expensive

    It might be lonely

    Short winter days

    Need a visa

    Health treatment would be expensive

    Need a car

    Points for Thailand

    They don't all speak English

    They are in general friendly

It can be hot and sunny

    It can be inexpensive

    It will not be lonely

    Need a visa

    Health treatment would be expensive

    Long sunny days

    Might need a car

    Hard choice?

Currently not from U-Tapao to Udon.

Plenty of flights from Suvarnabhumi which I would prefer (closer, easy bus/taxi).

    Plenty: well...

3 in the morning, 4 in the afternoon until 6:05 PM

    So not Don Muang?
