  1. Remind us, who is paying for these lunatic tariffs America is imposing others again? Ah right, the US consumers. Of course China will retaliate, they won't be bullied by the orange blub in the white house. What did he think would happen?
  2. It's not as easy as sending Ukraine tomahawks. They require a firing platform that Ukraine currently doesn't have. Sending both will be costly, and it might not be as effective as expected. Tomahawks can't be fired from the planes Ukraine have, like the F-16s. However, Russia can't even defend their oil and gas installations today, they are going up in fire daily, so if tomahawks strike at certain facilities, they won't be stopped.
  3. This is not a world peace prize. It's a peace prize at any level, and the Nobel committee follows the testament of Alfred Nobel. That testament has fighting for human rights and democracy in its core, quite the opposite of what Donald Trump stands for. Regardless of how many wars Trump thinks he has ended, he fails on all counts at home turf. He is not qualified for this price after Nobel's testament.
  4. But you are a total stranger, Sir 😆
  5. Well, I don't see how and why anyone would give away 10k to a total stranger, so I assumed we at least were talking about a person you've had some conversations with, maybe a few times, and then believed their story and need for this money. Otherwise I agree it won't make sense. Anyway, I think anyone who give away or lend someone money you don't really know very well, is prepared to lose that money. That's not why some of us do it. Helping people out just seems the right thing to do sometimes. And it feels good as well.
  6. Where in Pattaya can you get a hotel room, food and a few beers for one week, for 1200 baht?
  7. I don't have any credit cards. I swore not to fall into that trap again, so I cancelled mine. I'm sure I'm not the only one without one.
  8. Might depend on the history you have with this person. It might be worth the moments you've had together giving him the money he needs. Most private loans in life aren't paid back anyway. And compassion for others isn't a bad thing.
  9. Agree. Friends help each other out. One day it might be you in that spot.
  10. And until recently most agents had a deal with banks (others than BBL) to open one from a 60 days VE, if they committed to get a Non Imm O visa based on retirement. I did, but that loophole has now been closed, according to reputable agents I have contacted. Hopefully, for others to come, on a temporary basis.
  11. Agents are figuring things out as they go. Very recently one of the most reputable agents in Pattaya (soi 6) did the bank account opening (from a 60 days visa exemption) at Krungsri Bank at Pattaya Central Festival Mall, then drove to Bangkok for the immigration work. Never even went to Jomtien immigration. A couple of weeks later, they did the opposite, so they change it at any point, to continue their service. Today however, the agents say they can't open a bank account anymore from a visa exemption. Even at Krungsri. Hopefully it's temporary, we will see.
  12. Tourism is declining, Thais are struggling.. Let's see how we can solve this.. Hmm.. I know! Let's tax the visitors more! What a brilliant idea!! Where do they find these morons?
  13. Can anyone make any sense out of this? Why isn't this man removed from office? https://x.com/LqLana/status/1973535290426798143 A compilation from his speech to the generals.
  14. So you agree with what Trump is doing to these cities? Although every statistics show that crime in fact has decreased in these cities? This is the fascism/dictatorship ABC textbook, to take control over these cities by force, and you don't even realise it. Every city, county and state have their own police force and policy to take care of this.
  15. That I do definitely want. I stand corrected 😉
  16. Let me re phrase that. I disagree with everything Hegseth and his boss stand for.
  17. Of course not. This retired general can speak his mind, and he is of course spot on. What's happening in the US now is a disgrace to what America should stand for, and these generals and military tops know it very well. My guess is they won't budge if shiit hits the fan. I still believe they will stand up against this dictatorship and fascism when and if it comes to that. Hegseth is a joke, but a dangerous one, and of course so is Trump.
  18. BREAKING: Retired Lieutenant General Mark Hertling of the U.S. Army goes viral with a BRUTAL response to Pete Hegseth’s deranged speech, says that the military “will not execute illegal orders.” MAGA really kicked the hornet’s nest this time… “But there were also soldiers and, well, all ranks of services, in that audience that said, wait a minute,” Hertling told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “When they were writing down the same kind of checklist that I was writing down, saying, wait a minute, we can't do that, or we shouldn't do that, or this is a true violation of what we are as professionals or, hey, I've got women in my ranks who are performing admirably,” he continued. “Why should I kind of lump them all together like the secretary did? Or I'm certainly now going to debate with myself, what am I going to say if I'm asked to go on the street and conduct illegal actions?” During Hegseth's rambling, peacocking speech, he railed against "woke" policies in the military, attacked "fat" soldiers and leaders, and called for imposing "male standards" on all troops. He called for hazing recruits and said that drill sergeants will be allowed to "put their hands on” them. At the same event, Donald Trump gave a slurred, incoherent speech and talked about using American cities as “training grounds” for armed forces. The event attendees were high-ranking military officials and generals who were forced to fly in from around the globe and the fascist rubbish spewed by Hegseth and Trump was a total waste of their time. “And I guarantee you that the people in that audience will not execute illegal orders. We have been saying that for a long time,” said Hertling. “But at the same time, all of them, not only were they personally embarrassed, but they were embarrassed for their services that had, you know, sit in that audience and listen to this kind of stuff,” said Hertling. “That's the worst part of all this. You know, there's a saying in the military that's a great leadership dictum: ‘You praise in public and you discipline in private,’” he went on. “This was a disciplinary approach in public with cameras, so the whole nation could see. And it was an attempt at separating the military institution from the people that they defend.” Clearly, voters made a historic mistake putting these MAGA freaks in charge of the most powerful military in the history of the world. Next election, the US can undo that error for good.
  19. You mean, you pay until you die? That's what most people end up with, so you might as well self insure. I've got problem sleeping through nights as well, but it always help after I pee a few times. Oh well, that's a different problem, I guess. Reading, or watching a movie might help, I usually fall asleep to both.
  20. Of course it did. And now Disney is losing customers worldwide because of this cancellation. I've just cancelled my subscription. Disney would never do that to themselves. The rumours are they are trying to get Kimmel back somehow.
  21. Decades, if ever. USA at the moment seems like a lost nation. That's how most Europeans see it.
  22. Okay, thanks for the clarification. It just sounded like they were closing their mobile app for private people as well, and that's not true. That's the future of every bank, fewer employees, and more use of apps.. AI is doing its thing.
  23. Its their Krungsri Bank app, its for everyone. I have it, the new app. Opened a bank account there a couple of months ago. What they close, is their web solution. An app is something different.
