    1. You would be applying for a one year extension of stay based upon retirement not a visa.

It would be best if you could obtain a single entry non-o visa before entering the country. If not possible then a single entry tourist visa that could be changed  to a 90 day non immigrant visa (category O) entry at immigration.

    2. She could get a one year extension based upon your extension as your spouse. She would need a non-o visa entry to apply for it which cannot be applied for at immigration. If she had a non-b visa entry it could also be used.

    3. That would depend upon the work permit office where she applied for the renewal of her work permit.

    4. It depends upon the the time your arrive at immigration and the number of people there. Reports of doing it in a couple of hours to all day.

    5. Yes

    6. For the first extension the 800k baht only has to be in the bank for 60 days. You will need a letter from your bank confirming your account and copies of your bank book that has been updated on the date you apply.

We are same age and country. Why don't you use the same agent. No hastle, no worries, don't even need to think about 800k. Just sit at home and it comes in post.

"TESCO"   Two years ago the wife and I financed a Ford through Tesco Bank.   My wife signed for the loan and I showed my account balance at the bank.

I said TISCO not TESCO. Big difference.

i presume you already have a ais   FO   line connected    if so i can probably suggest  a much better/cheaper way of getting  most of the channels  AIS/TRUE  are offering

    Thank you. Please suggest it.

  5. AIS offer Platinum scheme with TV through their fibre optic line , many good channels , with unlimited internet. Only 599 per month. Similar from True satellite 1,500/month without the internet. Is the TV reception likely to be as good as satellite ? Anyone have experience of TV from AIS ? Thanks

You could do a 60 day extension to visit wife at Immigration (costs 1900 THB) would that be enough ??

Edit: The money only has to be in the account for 2 months, so it should be enough time, but make sure that you ask your Immigration office as some offices make up their own rules.

If not, go to Savannakhet Laos and get a Single Entry NON-O basis on that your married. No funds in bank needed, just original Marriage Certificate (KR3) and the usual documents. Passport, Tabien Baan Wife, ID card wife etc.

Post it to reliable agent and get it back in a few days. Don't need money in bank. PM me for info.

Catman, do you always make false statements without knowing the truth ? You might get sued.  The fund I mentioned is run by private investors for the benefit of private investors. NO monthly fees, or salaried managers.

So how does it work? Amateur private investors get together and agree on stocks to buy and sell? What was the performance the last 1, 5, 10 years?

Why not look at the website.

@catman20’s total return was 0.4%. The money was clearly mismanaged, as I don’t think you can find any stock index that show similar low return, even if you pick a local maximum as the starting point and then go forward 7-8 years.

That said, I am sure there are lots of financial advisors showing similar poor performance, which is why I am surprised that financial advisors are often recommended on this forum. If you don’t want to research individual stocks then I suggest buying index funds that track markets like S&P 500 (USD), FTSE 250 (GBP), DAX (Euro), Nikkei 225 (JPY), etc.

Although that is the official rule (if applying in Bangkok's Chang Wattana, for instance) it's not the case at many immigration-offices.  Some require the seasoning for the conversion, and/or add other additional requirements, and/or even disallow specific qualification-paths in the official list.

Agreed - Savannakhet or Penang are the best choices.  Just be aware that they require the embassy income-letter now (showing some amount of income), even if using the money in-the-bank to meet the financials.

Use a reliable agent. No worry,no hastle, no travel. If you want a name, PM me.
