  1. I have identified someone using a SCB account to commit fraud.

I have sent six emails to various SCB addresses, including their fraud department.

Every email was returned, can not be delivered !!!

  2. ...

    2. Report of Shareholder meeting agreeing to open a SAVINGS account at......xxxx........Bank, with address of bank, and name of person (any person(s)) who is/are to be signatory(ies) on account, including their ID/Passport number(s)

    ...

Must it necessarily be approved by a shareholders' meeting? I believe a resolution of the board of directors is usually the way to open a corporate bank account and designate the authorised signatories (unless, of course, the Articles of Association mandates a resolution of a shareholders' meeting)

You are quite right. I used that terminology because most Foreigners opening new company here for first time, don't, need/have Board of Directors, just the minimum required three shareholders, and the OP did say he was a shareholder. so KISS ! In actual fact, the physical meeting rarely actually takes place !!!

  3. It's a long time since I read so many ill informed, incorrect and misleading replies to one post on here.

I opened my fourth COMPANY BANK ACCOUNT last Thursday, with fourth different Bank.

    IT IS VERY EASY.

First ask the bank what they need. Nearly all the same.

    THEN:

    1. Get original set of company's papers from DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT (DBD), less than 3 months old, 200 Baht.

    2. Report of Shareholder meeting agreeing to open a SAVINGS account at......xxxx........Bank, with address of bank, and name of person (any person(s)) who is/are to be signatory(ies) on account, including their ID/Passport number(s).

    3. The named signatory, and Managing Director (as named in the DBD documents), if different persons, take(s) those papers to the bank with his/her/their ID's/Passports and Housebook/Proof of address(if foreigner), AND COMPANY STAMP. Need funds to open account with, usually only 500 Baht.

Can collect Debit Card at same time and can set up on-line banking and money transfer services.

    EASY

  4. If you only pay around 3,000/month for medical insurance, I wonder what little would be covered when you need it and can not argue ??

I have MID LEVEL BUPA, which only covers up to 2 million Baht, and that is 9,000/month ! The same cover when I was in UK was three times as much !!!

  5. I'm amazed! None of you know this man, his son, or anything else about him, but you are more then happy to bash, insult and judge him. WOW! What nasty people you are.

It is not nasty to give your opinion about irresponsible behavior. You don't have to know him. After all, Juries don't know the person they have to judge, just the evidence. This man, gave his own evidence and was judged .. How would you feel if you drove your car round a corner into a young boy on a motorbike, who might not be controlling it too well ?

  6. TESCO. Lucky you, must have tipped someone.

I tried their delivery once. ordered 24 bottles of wine. They accepted my order, took credit card, and confirmed delivery date. On the morning of due delivery I received a call also. Sorry, we only have one bottle, if you want it delivered, you will have to pay delivery charge, because it is less than 2,5000 !!!!!

The local Tesco Lotus NEVER has more than 6 bottles of Red Horse on the shelf !!!!

  7. Yes that's the rental crowd.....living in a 3000 baht a month room eating 50 baht noodles and drinking archa beer...

can cook most meals for less than 50bht.

Roast pork with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, peas, carrots and gravy ..... about 40bht.

That's ridiculous. You couldn't buy the ingredients for 40 baht. I cook roast dinner every Saturday.

By the way, Yorkshire Pudding is traditional with roast beef, not pork. Pork should have sage and onion stuffing and apple sauce !!

    Not even on topic !!

Could you please start cooking for me??

  8. "Foreigners are not allowed to own land in Thailand by law."

    www.justlanded.com/english/Thailand/Thailand-Guide/Property/Legal-restrictions

Feel free to post a link to a government website that says foreigners can 100% own land in Thailand?

I'm guessing there is none and this is just TVF genius bullshit.

A foreigner cannot 100% own land in Thailand, regardless of what any barstool jockey says.

In actual FACT, I foreigner CAN own land 100% in Thailand. There are conditions and some restriction on reselling it, but it IS possible.

It is wise to check the facts before posting on sites as you may mislead others !!

  9. Thais don't care about Euro kitchen, quality electric, insulation and all that nonsense. This is your mistake. They care about a nice shell and a car in front of the house. You simply don't understand the market.

Why would you want a nice kitchen if trying to sell when most Thais get there food in plastic bags from the market.

I understand the market much better than you assume. My brother and I and a friend have been, independently, building houses to sell here for a long time. The market we aim for is farang with Thai wife. He understands the quality, she just wants the house !! The particular house I mentioned is one very nice house that is being sold for less than the cost of completing it. That is why I am so surprised.

to be fair, the market has been like this now for a while in Chiang Mai. I don't think this is a surprise. I bought my house in Chiang Mai in 2012 and there was a massive oversupply of houses already back then. What is in demand though is if you have land in a good location. Those land prices have sky rocketed over the last years. And I suspect they go up even more.

Don't know where you got that idea from ? I also have a nice piece of land (156 sq.wah.)walled, electric, water, etc. I am offering it for 20% less than I paid over 2 years ago. No one looks !!!

  10. Cant see why your blaming the housing market for not being able to sell. Its pretty easy really, if your house is priced to sell it will sell very quickly.

This seems like a silly comment ! Everyone agrees that the housing market is in a slump. Priced to sell !! It does not matter what the price is if NO ONE IS LOOKING !

correct. it's liquidity that's the problem in the property market here. Hence my comment previously to keep it at the current asking price but advertise yourself and give it some time, you may well have to wait a few years.

Understand, but I am not desperate for the money. I just don't want to keep the house clean, grass cut etc.etc. for a few years, so I will sell it for whatever I can get. Money is not the problem. I am really surprised that such a nice house with wonderful views over rice paddies to temple on Doi Saket in distance is of no interest to anyone !

  11. Ban Wiang Doi (aka 'Ban Mia Farang' to the locals) ain't all that great a place though.

Too far out of town, poor internet choices and liable to flood.

What rubbish ! I have lived here for 11 years. have fiber optic internet, best of all services, less pollution, no traffic chaos, good shops, never flooded. I can get to chaotic city in short time whenever I want.

  12. "the wife is a broker"

If you buy real estate in Thailand, you will be "broker" than renting.

    Real estate bubble? What's that?

    555

I disagree. I have already saved more rent than the money I put out for land and house in someone else's name and I have a lease on. You can even figure in the interest if you like. Then there are other factore which would be paricular to a person's situation.

However, for most foreigners I would agree you are correct. That is quite the problem in Chiang Mai now.

I am really surprised by the number of people who say that it is better to rent !!! It has been proven over many, many years that that statement is pure bunkum, nearly always used by people who can not afford to buy. I have bought every house I ever lived in, in five different counties. I always sold at a profit and in two cases, more than doubled my money !!

  15. Two years ago, I built a very nice two floor 3 bed/3 bath,200sq.mtr. house to sell. In nice walled garden with lawns, in good Mooban near Doi Saket. Good quality, insulation,3 wire electric, Euro. kitchen etc.

Selling price recommended by agents, 3,500,000 Baht. Since then, I have reduced the price three times, last time to 2,300,000 Baht. This is a few hundred thousand than the total cost to me, but still no viewers !!! Amazing !!

  16. I recently swapped from 3BB to TOT Fiber Optic because they are the only company to offer FO here. It was great for 2 weeks, now it won't open some foreign sites and some links from my trading sites. I tried everything including allowing the websites' technicians into my computers (2). They all concluded it was TOT fault although speed tests are good. I contacted TOT. They said there was a problem with undersea cables which they were trying to repair !!!!! I believe that they mean, 'we only bought small bandwidth form other countries to save money !!!!

Download Speed: 33198 kbps (4149.8 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 8989 kbps (1123.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

    Latency: 62 ms

    Jitter: 2 ms

bit slow as i got 50mb but still not too bad

Im on 3bb and when I download I get the full 50mb

This is on the singapore server as you requested.

Thanks robblok, that is interesting. I'm mainly interested in seeing the latency at this point and it seems that my adsl is the best of the 3 so far. I'll continue to see what happens in this thread before I call ToT regarding the issue because last time I contacted them about it they wanted to send a 'technician' around, even though there's obviously nothing wrong with my bandwidth.

  17. and what problems you got?

Surround had to be rebuilt because it all cracked because steel was laid on ground not in concrete.

Equipment room not keyed to existing walls and no foundation, so fall away.

    Agreed rounded wall/base join forgotten.

Staff trying to cheat on price of spares.

Grout go black and fall out because correct pool grout not used.
