My passport is about to expire so next time I go it will be with a new passport, and by then all this silliness should have gone.
How did you come up with this idea? When you get a new passport you will also receive a paper for the immigration stating that your embassy have replaced your old passport (Nr. 01234567) with a new Passport (No. 786453210). You must report this to the immigration, as your old passport will become invalid and you will not be able to travel with it.

Question #3 in Thai Driver Education Course:
When in accident do you first:
1) Call Insurance Company
2) Check on injured people
3) Do a runner
You have the wrong priority too!!!

Thai language texts use the acronym กทม, which transliterates as KTM.
Source: https://th.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/กทม.#:~:text=อักษรย่อของ กรุงเทพมหานคร,ของ ศาลาว่าการกรุงเทพมหานคร,,,
Therefore, I suggest that people on this forum who have the habit of using BKK, which is really the IATA airport code for Suvarnabhumi airport, should use KTM for Krungthep Maha Nakhon if they do not want to write the full name. I may be doing the same, as I keep forgetting whether the first syllable is Khrung or Krung.
KTM is the airport of Katmandu. I will use still Bangkok or BKK. ????
Let's see who / how much will use the new name in the future. I don't think many. -
Do you have a liability insurance in your home country? Read the small print because it can be that they pay to if things happen on holiday in another country.

Thailand still has the death penalty on the books, so I don't think Canada would extradite.
They will do!!! This is not the first murder case from canadians in Thailand. Thailand just has to guarantee that they won't get the death penalty.

Might have been legally registered. Guns are rented out for jobs. the alternative of course is that both the Policemen and the Soldier separately had their house broken into and their gun stolen............................
And not reported it? I not believe!!!

1. This is in a luxury housing estate, not on a public road. In a housing estate, you normally don't drive much faster than walking speed. You have to be able to brake at any time, because there are certainly children playing and simply running out into the street.
2. As a vehicle driver, you have to drive with foresight. If a vehicle drives in front of me without indicators / brake lights, I have to expect that it will brake or turn at any time.
3. If you see a zebra crossing, slow down, drive carefully and do not overtake.
4. How many accidents have already happened due to your completely wrong driver training?
There is nothing worse than idiots driving vehicles pretending they are the best drivers while speeding through residential areas.-

The media said that the driver failed to negotiate a bend perhaps due to unfamiliarity with the narrow and winding mountain road.
Did they mean him drove to fast?

Who watches these videos or pictures?
Is it not enough to know that a (young) person was killed in an accident?
Do people really have to see a mangled body and lots of blood on the street to understand what it means to die in such an accident?
No!! But people cannot believe how stupid are the parents here, that they let their kids drive around with motorbikes without driving licenses. This parents must be locked in prison.

I don't know where you got your prices but at ThaiWatsadu the tiles are very cheap.
1 tiles 9.50 - 13.25 THB / 11 p.m2 x 332m2 = 34.694 - 48.389,- THB plus the top tiles, ...
Looks for me cheaper to buy new as let make new color.
กระเบื้องหลังคาคอนกรีต / อุปกรณ์ - Thai WatsaduAnd the old one you can sell for 3-5 thb/piece.
