I am sure they can - if they have some motivation.

But then, they are also great in doing nothing. That is often documented in the news.

It's all a question of motivation. Now tell us, why would they be motivated to solve this Apple phone crime with high motivation here and now?

Because it's their job & if they don't done it right they end up in Yala or a village at the burmese border.

I agree with this. Which police officer will use his time to go to the shop with or without you just because he wants to help you?

Another way, which could maybe work, is call Apple. They might be interested to know which shops are buying stolen phone(s). And maybe they will help you.

And then there is of course the possibility that tomorrow there is no phone in that shop anymore. Must have been a misunderstanding. That's my guess.

Last but not least, don't play the hero! Thailand has a lot of organized crime. Don't try to fight the mafia because of a phone! You can only loose. And losing your phone is the smallest of the risks.

What a stupid comment. Do you ever reported here something to the police? I think not. Otherwise you had experienced that they can work very well and drive with you to the shop.
Specialy in Pattaya. And if you really meet a unwilling police officer, just call to a newspaper and you will be surprised how fast the case is closed.

And Apple can't do something other as maybe lock the phone.

Wrong guess, it will most likely cost you money to get the police interested, and then you probably still have to pay the shop owner.

My advice is, if the phone is worth much more than that, pay him and be done with it.

Other option is to get as much recorded evidence where the shop owner admits he has your phone, then go to the police

This they maybe do only with dumbheads. Normal people been not asked for money. ????

I blame the system, poor education, and the banks for not doing a better job for these people. The loan sharks need to be laid to rest. I hate that scum.

But banks never ever will give credits to this people and they know why. To much thais borough money from family, friends, neighbours, ... and never want to pay it back.

I not have sympathy with this people!!!

  5. I'm sure there was a reason to take his clothes off. Maybe he was angry that they locked him up, acted aggressively, threw away the water bottle, threatened suicide,...

Sitting in the monkey house means everyone has limited access to food and drink. This is only 2-3 times a day. It's not a hotel.

Also, has the attorney been paid or is he still waiting for his money? The fact that he is ill with Covid is no reason not to call the court or send his help to help the New Zealander. But pending payments are a reason.

No embassy supports someone who has committed a crime. You have to help yourself. It's your own problem.

Surprising, on the photo him has his clothes on.

  6. Toilet paper? I tought it's tissue!!! I come now over 30 years to thailand and live now 15 years here. I only used toilet paper at my first holiday here. After this only BUM GUN!!!

Just wash your hands with soap and everything will be ok.

Ups, I hated it to come back to europe and to use toilet paper again insteed of a bum gun. It's hurt a week long to use the paper.

  7. This blah blah about canabis is totaly nonsens. Everyone can buy almost every drug in the roads. It's forbidden, but out of control. It's a lost war!!!

The lawmakers & helpers will never control any drug if they not change the laws and sell the drugs self. They can sell clean drugs without rat poison and all the other <deleted> what is used to double it. The income can be used for prevention videos for schools, anti-drug-clinics, social help, ...

This will help much more as to give it to the drug dealers & lords.

I don't know what BS you are referring to, but definitely there is an opportunity to rent it out in a day or even an hour after you have listed it at the correct channel.

And for sure a real estate agent will have the phone number from the (potencial) customer for connect her/him after the first customer jumped out of the deal 3h later. ????

There is no right for shorten the deposit. A easy case for the OCPB.

Just about every hardware and building supply store in Pattaya have those cheap blue striped tarpaulins in giant rolls and can cut off what you need.

They dissolve and disintegrate after 2-3 months in the sun.

On the 700 Rai Market in Sattahip is a dealer every saturday who sells it. A good one costs 250 THB for 2x3m.
