  1. My ex-TW used to work at a local distributor of a major brand of ladies handbags. This distributor used to visit the company's warehouse in Italy just after the beginning of every season. They would place orders for goods that were returned from stores all over Europe because of defects after their initial launch. This stock was then sold here as "new arrivals" at the full price - often more expensive than in Paris or other European cities. If you want high-end goods don't buy in them in LOS. bah.gif

  2. I am not a great paper plane builder myself but how the ))%T* can you make a paper plane fly for 12.5 minutes??? I would love to see that!

Silly that children can be considered as a a security risk but that is the way we are going now!

I hope he will win and become "Hero of Thailand"!!!

The current world record for flying a paper plan is about 28 seconds.

As always The Nation seems able to get the facts wrong.

Believe they probably mean 12.5 seconds.

Actually, a paper crane bearing a certain individuals signature has been flying over the southern provinces since Dec 2004. There are no reports that it landed anywhere. That is the real world record. :)

  3. The ministry said 4 paper face masks will cost Bt 10 and one fabric face mask will cost Bt 10. Hand wash gel will cost Bt25 per 50 grammes.

Guess, that solves the problem of getting change for 50, 100, 500 or 1000 baht notes. :D

I'm off to homepro to buy a new storage unit for masks / gels. :)

  4. The girls in the bar are also less well off than the OP, on a par with the beggar were it not for their physical attractiveness, but the OP tolerates their presence. Thailand is better off if people like this do go home

And unfortunatly the girls have to tolerate the presence of the OP.

They tried not pouring Leo in his mug, but he didnt take the hint. :)

  5. I have heard there is a shop near Sukhumvit called "3 inchers r us". I believe it is run by a katoey.

no, no, that's "13 inchers r us" and yes, its run by a katoey ......

Hope you didnt find that out the hard way. :)

  6. Thai politicians are pressuring Suvarnabhumi Airport's security staff to drop some pre-boarding screening procedures, even though this would breach global aviation security standards.

The move to lift the requirement for passengers to put their jackets and belts through X-ray machines before they walk through metal detectors is being spearheaded by Pichet Panwichartkul, a Democrat MP.

Mr Pichet has called the procedures an inconvenience for passengers and he is attempting to use his position as an adviser to the House standing committee on banking and finance to ease airport security, which has left security and airline managers dumbfounded.

Industry sources said the committee recently summoned airport security chiefs to issue an ultimatum for the procedure to be waived from last Wednesday. The committee threatened to take further steps to enforce its demand if this order was ignored.

In a broadside at Suvarnabhumi management published in the Aug 19 edition of Naew Na newspaper, Mr Pichet questioned Suvarnabhumi security's inability to distinguish between suspicious belts and normal ones.

  7. Further investigation revealed that King Power had built over the front of the entrances to many restrooms to get more retail space. Making money on the backs of poor bladder-bursting passengers who've just deplaned.

    Thanks for that interesting tidbit.

Next time my stomach starts growling at Swampy, I'll just take a dump in a Prada handbag at King Power. :)
