Let's have a few more simple recipes like these for not so clever amateur cooks.

Coming soon I hope as part filmed in my home time of Nottingham. Wollaton Hall used as Batman's home.
Check out this famous Elizabethen House built in the year of the Spanish Amada and unique in that each side is identical. Here endeth my history lesson.

Have looked at the link on depositers protection. Is there a web site that gives a health report on Thai Banks. Similar to Moody AAA ratings etc.

I have done my first 90 day reporting following cancellation of my Work permit. I reported 14 days early and the next 90 day reporting is from the date of of reporting so have lost 14 days. Sort of thought it would be post dated to 90 days from the date of my retirement visa. So actually done 76 day reporting on this first one. No big deal but fyi for future.

A bit away fr the topic but I just paid my Platinum
Premium but cancelled OPD which was 50k per year and the premium dropped by approx 48k. Get a lot of OPD for 48k

Suppose it depends on the total price of the ticket with the add ons in order to make a comparison.
I like to fly business class on emirates to Europe but any recommendations for cheaper international airline appreciated.

I just prepared then lost a 10 minute rant agaisnt Finnair, but then lost it! Da_mn.
Anyway the jist is watch out if you are booking a flight with Finnair other than through their own web-site. I have just found after the booking event that I will have to pay an extra 45 quid for the seats (no way am I going to fly in the middle of the middle so I am stuffed with the extra charges). Nasty insidious little scheduled national carrier - you expect it from Air Asia and can mentally adjust accordingly.
Its back to the Middle East carriers for me in future and no more booking through a consolidator like Opodo without going through the airline's own website with a fine toothcomb first.

I really can't wait to get to that great land, really excited and glad I don't do drugs. I do like a drink and to party a little. All advice has been great thank you all. Trying to do my research before I get there so I'm aware of what goes on. Either way it's a journey I can't wait to get to. I hear the Thai people are amazing and like any place it's only a small number that give it a bad rep. Living in London I can agree .
don't forget post your comments after you have completed your holiday , would be interesting for us long time residents

Have to agree with the above post. I flew in from Qatar 6 days ago.....................slight 10 minute delay in landing but through immigration and out of the airport within 40 minutes of landing. I don't think thats too shabby.
Me also. In and out at least 6 times a year since it opened and the nice immigration always fast tracked me with a Thai Work Permit.

Do you already have some movies and shows? Torrents of stuff waiting for you, if you want to go that route. There are several good apps that can read all kinds of movie media - just look a bit and you will find some free ones. VLC does a good job. Then you can put AVI, .Mov, Mp4 etc etc into your iPad.
You can also download the kindle app for free, and if you do a torrent search just look for kindle books and believe me you will have enough reading material for the next couple lifetimes. If you want to stay legit then just order your books thorough amazon.
no movies or show...i am more interested in reading material and music....does anyone here get the BKK Post on their portable device? There is a place called newspaperdirect.com that gets a monthly subscription price and gives access to many newpapers..
I just googled Bangkok Post, Nation UK Guardian etc etc and when the page opened saved the page as a book mark or document or whatever and then put the icon on my desk top so every day can read the papers free of charge without subscribing to a monthly subscription.
I am a complete computer illiterate and just play around with the thing until it works.

so, to be clear, is that a win win situation?
Thaksin's organised-crime syndicate wins , everyone else loses.
Time for another coup?
Like the NY taxi, you can't find a yellow when you need them.
Man,you've got an addiction to "coup".
Seek assistance!
Can only assume that these people who keep trumpeting "coup" have such boring lives in Thailand that the mere thought of a coup brings some sort of excitement to their uneventful and meaningless day. Yawn!

Nice one. We live to see another day. Did we really think we wouldn't. Life goes on for us ex pats as normal. That's why we all stay here because we like it. Am I right.

Yes its easy. You need a letter from your employee in words something like this.
Joe Bloggs is employed by ABC Company and travels frequently overseas on business for ABC Company.
He requires a second passport as there are occasions when his original passport may not be in his possession due to it being processed for travel visas.
Make sure you get The Company Chop on the authorised signatory.
I have had one for 15 years , most recently renewed this year without any probs.

Good stuff. Have it on your oat bran in the morning with cinnamon and honey and soy milk if you want to stay super healthy. Also keeps the joints good so my Indian friends tell me.

Does your Thai bank make a charge for the deposit to your account?
I am told that there is a charge but am waiting for my Thai bank to confirm.

wonder how Mickeyidea knows they have all been processed

Talk the talk but never walk the walk. Part of Thai culture in all walks of life.
Thats why living in Thailand is stress fee as no pressure on anyone to do anything.
Terrific isn't it? Love it here, really do!

Am sorry to say the TG have lost sight of the fact that it is product, service and quality that constitutes a successful and profitable business. TG's business model is to jack up prices if they are not making profits rather than look at the root causes. Now they give bad product service and quality at inflated prices.
Have had a gold card for 15 years but now let it lapse as only use them if no other alternative.
Crackdown On Happy -- Only Unhappy Hours From Now On
in Chiang Mai
Posted
If bar owners reduced the prices generally they wouldn't need a happy hour and the bar would have plenty of customers all the time not just at happy hours. Increased turnover increased profits based on volume.
