    he is at least recognizing and saying that given the current state of covid, aspects other than just health concerns have to be considered moving forward. the medical people dont factor the effects their decrees have on the overall economy, or other bad outcomes associated with their plans when designing them. covid was never the existential threat to humanity that is was described as.

    this is just another extension of the thai concept that because thailand is the best place on earth, people will accept having to jump through any hurdles or pay any price to holiday here.

    this is is just a reflection of thai thinking that if something is more expensive, it must be better. raising the price on something that doesnt have better benefits than a lesser priced product doesnt make it premium, it makes it bad value. I doubt anyone planning a holiday will say, "Honey, I heard that they raised the prices in thailand, so lets go there for our trip"

    yes, the paranoia in the thais is still quite strong. I still see quite of few double masked outside. I went maskless outdoors this week, and I have experienced more than a few thais sharply veering away from me as far as possible when they notice I am not masked.
