This probably isn't the event for you, you are better of sipping your can of chang on the steps of 7-11.

Except you cant register with gophuget as you still have to provide evidence of a negative test even if you are fully vaccinated.

Free extensions have are being given by the customs department. Easy process and helpful staff. Never any suggestion boats would be 'confiscated'

Does anyone know if you can use a work permit instead of COR? Trying to avoid a visit to IO unless its necessary!

Check out West Coast Divers. Just got back from a 14 dive liveaboard to Similans with them. 2nd time with them in the last few months. Good boats, equipment, guides and service. Excellent diving and very quiet st the moment too.

Was considering driving down to Phuket for a couple weeks. Obviously, the quarantine made it a no-go. However, for my Thai girlfriend, even with no quarantine, she still refuses to go and insists on an alternative location where she doesn’t need to register her plans on some website nor install any sort of app on her phone.
So...even if Bangkok was moved to “group 4”...she still won’t consider it.
Good, we dont want selfish people here right now.

We don't have to be BFF but I like the idea of a once a week drinking gathering of different people.
Anyone up for it??
Boat Avenue,
They just arrested over 100 people in Koh Phangnan for doing just this so think i will pass for now.

08.00 has just arrived at Bangrak. So that is at least two per day. (!9.00 as well.)
Thanks. Came back from Had Rin this morning. Currently running once a day to Samui at 0930.

Does anyone know if the Had Rin Queen is running at the moment?

It has been requested but I've not seen it confirmed. I'd do the check in anyway, it's not difficult then at least you will be covered. Unlikely to be checked at the checkpoint anyway!

Would be the 3rd then ????
Ha ha yes, I hadn't even looked at the calendar, guess the IO hadn't either!

I came across this yesterday at the drive through too. They said I had to come back on 1st August. I asked if could do as would be very busy on 1st August and they said no, come back on 1st. Am now trying on-line as dont fancy joining the queue of several hundred on the 1st!

Probably such a regular occurrence it doesn't make the news anymore.

Looks like the boat going towards the camera was in the middle of the channel. He should have stayed more on his left.
Err, no, he should have stayed or moved to his right so both boats could pass each other port to port. And neither should be going that speed.

Basic rule: Power gives way to sail.
But I guess the brakes failed
Not always.

The basic law of the sea is that a powered boat must give way to a sailing boat. The motor boat is 100% to blame for this accident.
Not always and there was no sailing boat involved in this incident.

31 minutes ago, losername said:"Not all yachts have sails" - that is certainly true although both use and size have relevance here. Google's simple definition is "a medium-sized sailboat equipped for cruising or racing". Wiki on the other hand say "Today's yachts are almost exclusively for leisure. A yacht is any sail or power vessel used for pleasure, cruising, or racing." Apparently yachts are normally over 7m but under 12m they are more normally called "cabin cruisers" or "cruisers". In this thread we do not know the length or use of the "yacht". Having seen the pictures I'll stick to the definition "gin palace".
The gin palace is 72ft!!

None of the boats in the picture look like yachts. My view is that the damaged one is the offending motor vessel. The larger boat with many people on board wearing lifejackets seems to be rescuing passengers and the yacht is not shown. Possibly the crew on the yacht have taken the picture.
Not all yachts have sails. The speedboat hit the motor yacht which in that picture is picking up the passengers from the damaged speedboat.

Can anyone confirm how long an Indian passport holder receives for visa on arrival and what extension options are currently available?
