  1. Thats good to know , at least I can sleep peacefully knowing Im not going to be surrounded by dead bodies in the morning.

Well, if you have a really good airtight room, and you keep on recycling the same air, at some point in time you will find dead bodies because of lack of oxygen and a too high CO2 level. tongue.png

I think I will open a window , just to be on the safe side . Thanks for the advise biggrin.png

Unfounded concern, unless you sleep in a sealed box.

  2. The 30th CR Pot Luck Picnic will be held Sunday March 31 at 13:00 at the CR AG. Res. Center (the original location).on Old Chiang Mai road. Bring food and a smile.cool.png

  3. @supe3rior

Most larger bikes come with basic tools. These should be easily capable of making a chain adjustment if needed. I am sure youtube has lot of vids on the subject. Your owners manual wiil tell you the freeplay [maybe 1.5-2"].

About 1" on a 250 so 500 should be about the same. Probably can figure it out from even a Thai manual.
  4. Well we had a wonderful pot luck picnic, As usual. laugh.png This could be near or exceed our largest crowd yet. I counted 33. I am running out of superlatives to describe the food. It was delicious and varied. Even had pate'. clap2.gif We had about 6 newcomers including an Austrian and two Belgians to add to our Swedes and Germans. The international flavor is appreciated. What could have been better? Lots of pictures on the other forum. For some reason I am unable to upload multiple pictures to this post.sad.png

  5. Heard about a new cafe/restaurant that opened recently so thought I'd try it out yesterday, wish I hadn't of waited so long! It is called Destiny and is on the small road from the golden clock up to the walking street road, on the left side. Decor is very nice as is the Thai/Western food, coffee and cakes and very reasonable prices. I was told it has been funded by a charity and that the girls employed there have been 'rescued' but not sure how true that is or the details but then again that's not really important unless it affects how much you tip :-)

Definitely worth a visit next time you are in the area, no parking though.

Tried it a couple of nights ago. Considering the ambience, the prices are extremly reasonable. I had the chicken pot pie and although it is different than what I am used to in the US it was quite good. Even better was the carrot cake I took home. Hard to find decent carrot cake. Also took a brownie. The wife liked her two Thai dishes as well. Hope the owner/co-owner will forgive me but she is a very nice looking Aussie.

Maybe we will give them a try for lunch or coffee, sometime. Where is the best place to park?

I was on the motosai and parked on the sidewalk but I would GUESS up on the clock tower road somewhere.

  8. Wait guys there must be some kind of confusion, I drove to petrol station from the shop, with their engineer and filled in benzine 91. They told me not only is it okay but better than gasohol. The fuel that is in the tank when you buy the bike (1 litre) is benzine 91.

Iam really confused in regards to what is better or worse and what? I drove 340 km on benzine 91 full tank, running dry today so going to station. Will try Shell V power LL mentioned.

Cars wise (I had 3) was always told gasohol (l mixture of gasoline and alcohol) is worse than pure benzine benzine, thats the reason why gasohol was always cheaper than benzine. For us in the UK unleaded is the only option. I dont think honda would be stupid enough to make a bike that only favors gasohol. BW told me benzine 91- 95, or gasohol 91-95 but preferably NOT gasohol 91.

Generally, running on fuel with a higher octane than recommended ie 91, provides no performance gain nor increased millage. Gasohol will always provide less mileage because alcohol contains less energy/volume than benzene.
  9. Enjoyed a 180 degree view of all the fireworks and Khomloys from my second story sala after midnight. Glad I stayed home. The best to you and yours.

Did you get any pictures from your second story sala? Excellent idea having that sala and staying home as well. We did the same.smile.png

I thought about it but judged my pics would have been unimpressive at the distance I was at. Great for seeing all 6+? firework locations but not for pictures.
  10. The 27th CR Pot Luck Picnic will be held Dec. 30 at 13:00 at the CR AG. Res. Center (the original location).

There was some discussion about permanently moving the location to the public river park. As yet there has not been a strong preference one way or another. Since the Research Center did a lot of work to clean the place up I feel we should at least have one more picnic there. Again if you have a preference one way or another AGAIN let me know.

  11. Did you check the big home improvement store just past old bus station? I bought some regular brackets there and seem to remember seeing ones like you want...but can't really remember as a year or so ago.

Checked Saipaiboon (sp?)the one you are talking about and Homemart and many many other smaller places.
