  1. That's strange as SCB is one of the Thai banks that are explicitly listed on their THB transfer guide, which mentions property purchase: https://wise.com/help/articles/2932335/guide-to-thb-transfers If that's the case then I could open a Kasikorn account. After receiving THB, would it be OK to move it out to other banks? I have high interest accounts at other banks, so want to be earning as much interest as possible whilst I spend some months looking for property. Would Kasikorn still create the letter at a later date even though the account that received the international transfers had been emptied long ago?
  2. This is very good to know, especially when you want to prepare funds before deciding on an actual place to buy. Instead of a huge lump sum transfer, I want to do multiple small funds transfers (e.g. 10k USD / week) from Wise (setting Purpose = "Purchase of Property") to my SCB account. When I've finally found a place to buy, I'd get the bank to create a letter based on a selection of those transfers whose total is or exceeds the purchase price. Is this possible?
  3. I'm unlikely to use traditional bank international transfer via SWIFT for various reasons. So I may just have to pay more. Wise offers some guides for sending to Thailand for buying property: https://wise.com/help/articles/2932335/guide-to-thb-transfers https://wise.com/gb/blog/buying-property-in-thailand Wise is the only option I can think of so far, but I'm open to consider other options that I haven't thought of.
  4. If I have around 300k USDT (in my crypto wallet), what would be the best route to turn it into THB to buy property in Thailand? Buying a property requires us to show evidence that the funds came from abroad. Because of such a requirement, I can't just sell the USDT on a Thai crypto exchange to get the THB. I have a multicurrency WISE account, so I was thinking I could: Convert USDT to GBP on Binance P2P; Transfer GBP to THB into SCB WISE allows us to select "Purchase of Property" in the "Purpose" dropdown box to ensure that the Thai bank will tag it as an incoming foreign transfer. Do you guys have any better ideas?
  5. The info at https://wise.com/help/articles/2932335/guide-to-thb-transfers suggests that Wise does cater for the specific aim of purchasing property in Thailand - there are at least 3 mentions of this and the need to prove that the funds came from abroad. Wise seem to be aware of the requirements and would want their service to work for property purchases in Thailand. Brick Top's negative experience with Wise was in 2021, but maybe things have improved since then. I'm not sure when the article was written but the earliest possible publish date would be 7 January 2022 because it mentions that date when listing Thai banks that can accept larger transfers. It would be good to hear more experiences. Who else have tried Wise, preferably recently, for transferring funds into Thailand for purchasing property?
  6. That sounds interesting... yes please post details, thank you.
  7. Would multiple THB bank accounts (instead of having all funds for purchase in a single account) be accepted? There are a few reasons one may want to spread funds across different banks.
  8. Would transferring from your own Wise account be accepted? I'm thinking if it originates from Wise as non-THB and you choose "International" tab (see screenshot below of Wise interface), it'd be OK, but it'd be good to hear the real experience of others who've actually done such a transfer from Wise for condo purchase.
  9. Where in Bangkok can I buy San Pedro cactus, preferably around 1y old?
  10. Can someone please point where these two required items are officially stated? I want to show the owner of the property where I stay that I need these items from them, and it'd be better to do that whilst I show a printout of an official statement, as there may be reluctance to provide copies of such sensitive documents. I have a big list of requirements for extension of stay but it may be too old now as these two items aren't listed.
  11. Is it really 5 THB per bottle? Where is it being sold exactly? I need it for my back pain.
  12. Agree or disagree with any of the rankings? It might help people find good hospitals in Thailand.
  13. https://www.newsweek.com/worlds-best-hospitals-2022/thailand What do you think of the hospitals in this new list?
  14. There appears to be some devices on Shopee and Lazada targeting Thai market. I'm not sure how trustworthy or reliable they are though. e.g.: https://shopee.co.th/【NEW】Cofoe-3-in-1-Multifunctional-Cholesterol-Uric-Acid-Blood-Glucose-Meter-Glucometer-Kit-Diabetes-Tester-Monitor-Device-i.22658111.6240297466
  15. Thanks Sheryl, that's a possible alternative that I hadn't thought of. Do you know of inexpensive places in Bangkok to do a full lipid panel?
  16. Are there particular pharmacies in Bangkok known to be good with offering electronic medical devices?
  17. OK so Medtide resells British Dispensary aspirin 325mg. I wonder if we could buy it directly from the British Dispensary head office on Rama 9 road. The British Dispensary (L.P.) Co., Ltd Head Office 100/103-108, 31st floor Vongvanij Building B, Rama 9 Rd., Huay Kwang, Bangkok 10320 Thailand. Telephone : (662) 645-1333 Fax : (662) 645-0700,(662) 645-0170 Call Center : (662) 645-0333
  18. Are there any electronic devices available to buy in any Bangkok pharmacies that can check cholesterol levels at home? Do you use such devices and how have they been?
  19. It's funny that British Dispensary's 81mg aspirin product is called "ASPIRIN PEDIATRIC TAB": http://www.bd-healthcare.com/products/product-detail.php?id=55&group=6&lag=eng
  20. Has anyone got this aspirin product by British Dispensary recently?: http://www.bd-healthcare.com/products/product-detail.php?id=62&group=7&lag=eng
  21. One supposed pharmacist today said I have to be prescribed by a hospital and that they "have to follow Thai medical law". I responded saying it's not dangerous nor illegal.
  22. My recent experience asking around has been either "no have" or 81 mg. So I'm still looking for at least 325 mg tablets.
  23. Did you see 325mg or higher dose tablets there?
