Smelt. Rhymes with "dealt". And those 2 words form the backbone of one of the best lines we learned in the 3rd grade. Still serves me well over 50 years later...
I learned "Whistle while you work, Hitler was a jerk, Eenie Meany lost his weeny and now it doesn't squirt."

I come from Haverford, PA. It's the beginning of what is called the Main Line - or the rich area of Philadelphia. We don't have a gun problem. Hillary Clinton can go piss up a rope for all I care. Pennsylvania has some of the highest concentrations of people who carry guns of anywhere in the country. We don't have a gun problem, nor do we have a violence problem.
Perhaps she would prefer to visit Chicago, as I hear they kill each other there with some regularity.

Thanks, I found it. Anyone know of any more?

you can also use patrickJMT (primary student to graduate ) or exam solutions (alevel, igcse, ib..) they are both free. You could find useful stuff in alevel, igcse or ib maths as the beginning of these courses would sometimes cover the materials that a 9 year old might be learning.
I'm not familiar with "patrickJMT." What is it, and where does one find it. I like free.

Transcription of the number is incorrect in the OP headline...
Should be 2540, not 2450.
Perhaps the writer of this post is dyslexic. I'm still having trouble with the word "smelt." I'm almost sure that's either a fish or something you do in an ironworks such as "smelting."

Get yourself a DID phone number from voip.ms
I ported my business number to them and I can receive SMS messages and forward the number to any phone in the world, including Thailand.

They are obviously learning from America.

If you want to get nearly 2 years from this visa you should do exactly as you say in your OP and make your last entry using the visa on or as close to 19 July 2017. Entering, for example, on 19 July 2017 will give you permission to stay until 18 July 2018.
You do not need to apply for an extension of stay until within the last 30 days before 18 July 2018. At that point you can apply for an extension for any reason you qualify for.
Yes, you are quite correct, I meant to change that to 2018. So assuming I leave and enter on the day of expiration, I'll get a whole year more. I will be qualified for all three.
Retirement is 800,000
Marriage is 400,000
What is taking care of a Thai in baht? It will be my son and maybe my then adopted Thai daughter.
-
- The visa ends on 19 July 2017 and cannot be used after that date or "renewed".
What are the recommended days before 19 July 2017 to extend my stay based on Marriage/Taking care of a Thai/Retirement?
-
What does immigration mark in your passport? Do they modify the O-A visa or use a different stamp that denotes the extension? Would you mind showing me what it looks like? Getting this damn O-A Visa was horrible. The bank was a pain. My doctor was an idiot about it. It cost me a fortune, but if I can squeak two years out of it, it makes it worth it.

New York is claiming 10 working days for a visa turnaround but in reality, they are turning them around overnight. If you get the paperwork to them in the AM, by presenting it yourself or mailing it to them, they will likely send it out the following day. My paperwork for myself and my son got there 10AM Wednesday and I just got my overnight today, which is Friday.
So now I have my O-A.
Let me correct a few misinformations that I was told along the way.
My O-A visa says I must enter before 19 July 2017. I am sure I was told there was a three-month expiration for using it. By looking at it, I could use it up until almost 1 year from now.
The O Visa for my son says he must enter prior to 19 Oct 2016 which would be three months.
I was told that if I leave and re-enter the country on the day of expiration, that the O-A visa will renew for one more year.
Am I correct in assuming that I DO NOT need to show 800,000b in a Thai Bank for this to happen? Please give me exact info on how to stretch this O-A into a 2 year multiple entry visa. And that is a question, if it renews for another year, does it continue to be a multiple entry visa?
Also, leaving and re-entering on the very last day, can that be done at a land border crossing, or only by air?
Thanks,
-
Quite scary that they can just go into your home and check without a warrant or anything. That they want to check for people overstaying.. ok but a house to house search for substances is crazy.
Why, this is not a first world country, anyone with 'brass' can do what they like...
This is not a true statement. People do not enforce their rights. By law, they need a search warrant. If you open the door, allowing them entrance then you have waived that right. Most people don't know what their rights are and as such, they have none.

thailand is doing you a favor buy not allowing you to own a business. you should be thanking them. 9 years in business in thailand making a fair living but doing some long hours and i have had enough of it. i am the only one i know who has made any money at all. most loosing everything they invested. if thais were smart they would let foreigners own businesses in thailand, i believe thailand would make even more of foreigners investing in business here than they would off foreigners buying houses for their wives.
Does one have to do business in Thailand in order to have an Amity Corporation? I want a foreign corporation to the United States that will be hard to sue in court.
-
Is Norplant called Jadelle in Thailand or is this a different drug? What are the costs and best places to get the device implanted?
-
"that a sole foreigner can’t register, own or run a business on their own in the country."
Not entirely accurate. The US-Thailand Treaty of Amity specifically allows it.
That is exactly correct unless the Thai's have somehow nullified the treaty. Does the Treaty still stand?

Yes, the temporary passport is issued for who lost passport or a child born abroad.
My sister did it for her child in Canberra and no need for parents to be present at the embassy. All can done by post.
The best thing to do is to call the embassy in washington dc or email them.
By the way, why would you like to have the temporary passport since you can go to Thailand with US Passport and then do the ePassport over there?
You are asking a question that I have been thinking about through this entire process. What are the Thai's going to do if my son enters with his US Passport and overstays? We will get him a Thai Passport and ID card when we return to Thailand. He will never have to show his US Passport again, at least not in Thailand and no one outside of Thailand is going to care one whit if he doesn't have an exit stamp from Thailand. So why am going through all this nonsense.
Getting him a Thai passport, for the first time, in Thailand will not have anything to do with the US Passport. Am I incorrect? His US passport will expire in 3 1/2 years anyway so what is the harm? Can someone explain this to me? UBONJOE? If we leave Thailand for Laos, he will leave and enter on his brand new Thai Passport, so where does the US passport come into play at all? He can't be thrown out for being an overstayer, he can't be fined as he is 9 years old and to the Thai's, it's as if he never left Thailand. We just get him a fresh Thai Passport. What more does he need?
What am I missing?

I can't think of any delivery services that let you open the package before you've signed for it.
Perhaps the OP wanted to try on the clothing. I'm surprised they don't bring a portable dressing room with them when they deliver.

This what it states at the top of the page.
"The temporary passport age 1 year Temporary Passport.
Temporary passports will be issued to the age of one year in the case of Thailand passport is lost or expired. And there is an urgent need to travel abroad without a passport can be issued temporary passports E-Passport, however, there is no restriction machine readable bar code which, if applied to visas. Some countries may not accept "
This page has info about the CI. http://www.thaiembassyuk.org.uk/?q=node/18
It's a 1 year passport. It sounds like the use of these documents is a bit elastic.

As I said I just got off the phone one hour ago with the consular officer in Johannesburg who issues type passports. She told me that they could not issue a certificate of identity without the lost type passport number. So now you're telling me the same thing has to be done for a temporary Thai passport. So unless I can get a phone call answered in either New York or Washington I'm not sure what to do. And when the lady in the Johannesburg asked me why my calling South Africa I told her that the embassies in New York and Washington never pick up the phone and don't answer their email, and she laughed and said yes I know.
I don't know which one is right. The translation from the London embassy doesn't say that it has to be a lost passport for them to issue a Thai passport.
the reality is were leaving August 7 and there isn't enough time to get a regular passport. If he has to he can travel on the US passport but that would be last resort.

It was suggested that I use a certificate of identity for my 9 year old Thai son who does not have a Thai Passport but does have a USA Passport. We live in Philadelphia, but calling either the embassy in New York or Washington DC is futile. They never answer the phone. I just placed a call to the Thai Embassy in South Africa and I was told by the Thai visa section for Thai people that the certificate of identity requires the passport number of a lost passport. The lady in Johannesburg told me that it's not possible to get a certificate of identity if he never had a tie passport.
She suggested that I could get a temporary passport which would only be valid for one year. This doesn't require a passport to come from Bangkok it can be issued at the Embassy in either New York or Washington. I never heard of a temporary passport, but I never heard of the certificate of identity either.
Is it possible that the lady is wrong about the certificate of identity and has anyone here heard of a temporary Thai passport that only has one year of validity?
The documents to are required in Johannesburg, was a copy of my identification and my wife's, his birth certificate the original, and a copy of the marriage certificate. I also have a letter from my wife which is a power of attorney giving me permission to get him a passport and also for him to travel.
Is anyone gotten a temporary type passport?

I did mine in 2010, used uk birth certificates, wife passport Id card, thai birth certs done same day, I asked my wife for clarification everything done same day

You did what exactly?

You can certainly get it in USA.
I am at the mercy of my wife's likely ADD in this case. It's all Thai and I'm screwed. I showed it to her and her only remark was, "this is for older Thai."
What documents do I need for this Certificate of Identity and this is something I can do here in the USA? I have no idea how to fill it in.
Could your wife ask somebody for help with completing the form and reading the list of required documents to get it.
Sure Joe, just as soon as she finishes her work for NASA categorizing and rating Black Holes. I'll get my friend's wife in NYC to look at it.

We leave Aug 7.
That is about 6 weeks away now. I suggested before that you check with the embassy or the consulate in NY about how it is taking to get passports at this time.
If no passport a certificate of identity will take care of the problem.

Without looking at any stat or commentary, I can confidently tell you the murder rate is likely skewed by black people killing black people. Looking at the cities listed, they are all predominately black.
The United Kingdom did away with civilian ownership of firearms yet I can also tell you without equivocation, that the murder rate in the UK is much higher than the US if you strip out the murders of blacks by blacks.
America is quite safe when you strip out the black crime.
