  1. Imagine on a packed BTS, standing next to a shirtless guy, getting squashed... an enjoyable situation? Maybe for a few who feel sad about my post. Of course, shirtless on the beach, pool etc is fine, but not roaming around the entire city! Handsome or not, is irrelevant IMHO
  2. Shirtless in public places/roads & vehicles, is absolutely disgusting.
  3. Since both use the same mail address? If both PC's use the same email address/account, you should see all your emails on both exactly the same. For whatever reason you want to send an email to yourself, you can do on either PC and you will see it on both. Example: If abc123 (at) email dot com is your email address, if you send an email from that address to the same address, both PC's will show the same. (or, have I misunderstood your question?)
  4. 'Honor Killing' Yikes, never realized this type of horror existed on this planet today, and that to be done by parents?
  5. Sometimes, I've noticed that images posted disappear and is replaced by the following. Is this due to a mistake of the OP?
  6. Kenwhitameenanat, Jimmy? - I had to Google that, but could not find an answer! But saw another AN post, posted on March 9, 2012 by you.
  7. Thank you. All the very best! (shall keep an eye here for an update)
  8. Why do so many Thai prostitutes marry their customers? - Men deprived of women and women deprived of wealth.
  9. Of course that's not what I meant. In an anonymous public forum, it is very easy to call someone stupid. Unfortunately, most times we see the most stupid acting people accusing others as stupid, for the simple reason, the other does not agree with his/her train of thought. "your OP seems to be more about difference's in opinion, which is not nitpicking" - Nitpickers are 'fired-up' by a difference in opinion IMHO Further, in a forum such as this, everyone has the freedom to openly state their views (of course whilst adhering to all forum rules) , and if someone does not like what he reads and he has 2 choices - just ignore and move on. Or state his/her opinion in a civil manner. There is absolutely no necessity to call them stupid or whatever! Some members herein has a strong feeling of entitlement, and act as if are in total control! What I am trying to imply very simply is that civility makes society that much more pleasant to live in. My first language is not English, hence I might make many mistakes. I chose the word nitpicking as per the Oxford English Dictionary which states "To criticize (a thing) in an overzealous or pedantic fashion; to find fault with." One must be very careful when calling another stupid, because he himself might be at a very high level of stupidity himself. Just my 2 cents.
  10. I bought and read this book a couple of years ago. But now, it seems men are worse than women on this subject! It's this face-saving thing that is been thrown exclusively at Thai people by a few AN members here - but, I see that here at AN almost on a daily basis! Yes, it seems that nitpicking is a psychological condition, after all.
  11. After a very recent unpleasant encounter, my thoughts wondered around, as to why human beings become aggressive and abusive for apparently no valid reason. Some of us tend to attack anyone and anything who doesn't agree with our beliefs. Ironically, it seems with age, this tends to worsen! I came across this article, and it kind of explains this phenomena in a very basic manner - yes, I guessed it right. Constant nitpicking is due to a psychological issue. I quote below an extract of the article, with a link to the full article The Psychology of Nitpicking: Why Do People Nitpick? at the bottom. You ever met that one person who always criticized you? They always looked for what was wrong in the interaction. Truth be told, the phrase ‘nitpicking’ seems a little ambiguous. In reality, a better way to view it as is ‘fault-finding.” However, if you understand the PSYCHOLOGY of nitpicking, then it becomes much easier to understand why these people operate the way they do. Rather than feeling rage towards them, you feel a sense of empathy. Let’s see if you can make this transformation today. Why Nitpicking Needs to Be Ditched. The reason nitpicking needs to be ditched is because it becomes a subtle drug. And this subtle drug soon starts to gain a stronger grasp of you. It FEELS good when you are nitpicking. It makes you feel like a virtuous being. ‘Look at me looking out for this low IQ individual. Thank God I am here to guide them’ you think. That’s false talk right there. It’s the ego screaming in your ear. While your intuition is whispering that there may be another way. The more you nitpick now, the more you wanna do it in the future. Constantly fault finding. This leaves a trail of resentment along the way. The energy you put out there boomerangs back champ. Your intention may not be bad. You may love the people you are nitpicking. But you’re making enemies. Full article
