The three hottest years I experienced were respectively: Laos, 2014 France, 2003 Spain, 1997 This year was pretty mild in Thailand, even April was not as bad as some other years I have known. My acquaintances in France and the UK told me it was pretty hot in July/August, but not as bad as 2003.
