  1. Yes, they enforced that system during Covid for the Thailand Pass and it worked well, so it's possible. It shouldn't even be possible to set foot on Thai soil without an insurance that covers you for everything, even dumb things, from a selection of Thai government-approved providers.
  2. Oh just reached this bit… That answers my previous post
  3. Indeed, which is why this really should be addressed by the Thai authorities. Legal liability for any rental shop renting a bike to a foreigner without a valid licence and insurance would be a start. Maybe such a provision already exists. In that case it should be enforced.
  4. Those of us who ride motorbikes know just how dangerous they can be when they decide to chase you out of the blue for no reason. It has nothing to do with being aggressive or not, if one of them decides he doesn't like the look of you for a reason only he knows, he will often trigger his mates and launch a pack hunt on you. It also happened to me back in the day when I used to go out for jogs (now I have a treadmill at home). I had a friend in Phuket whose beloved cat was mangled to death by the dogs outside her house. She was heartbroken. She would never have poisoned them, but she hated the damn things and ended up moving because of them. Some dogs are a real problem in Thailand and it is something which should be addressed through public policy, IMO.
  5. If you actually believe (or are inclined to believe) that we are living in a simulation as described here by Neil DeGrasse Tyson or as depicted in The Matrix, then you and I are not as opposed as you think we are. You are conceptually open to the possibility that the reality we live in does not actually exist and is artifically created by an entity we are then de facto subjected to. This is what I posit in my refutation of the heliocentric model. The ongoing deception which I believe is taking place is, for all intents and purposes, a simulation. The interviewer mentions The Truman Show, this is an analogy I have used myself at times.
  6. Okay, so based on this rationale, you also take into consideration this then too then, right? Nicolas Hulscher MPH (Master of Public Health), epidemiologist:
  7. What's the backstory? People don't poison dogs for fun.
  8. Yep. I will start taking this seriously when I receive an official notification to pay by the authorities. To me, this seems so unlikely that I almost want it to happen so I can see how they managed to do it (and only then will I start considering alternative options). A farang I know recently packed up and left the country because of this, reluctantly. I repeatedly told him not to get uptight, as IMO the likelihood of this actually happening is extremely low. Once the Thai authorities are faced with the mountain of complexities and difficulties it entails, coupled with the bad image for the country and actual loss of revenue from expats (the opposite effect of what they want), they will probably sweep it under the carpet… "But the law has been enacted!", he said. "Yes, now let's see if they actually apply it", I retorted, but he wouldn't have it… until his final week where he started having regrets as he realised that beyond the dozens of hours of talking (mostly done by farangs), nothing is actually happening. I was at the immigration office a couple of months ago, no signs, no leaflets, no staff telling anyone about anything related to it… (This last point is important because all the farangs I have heard talking about it interpret it as "pay tax or leave", i.e. you won't be able to renew your visa… In a way it reminds me of the hordes of people who were adamant that getting the Covid vaccine would be required for a visa, which of course didn't even remotely begin to materialise in any shape or form). Relax, it most likely isn't going to happen, don't do anything and it will go away.
  9. One of the great unresolved mysteries of this forum is whether you actually believe the outrageous BS you post. I tend to think you do.
  10. There is plenty of footage seemingly indicating that stars are of a photoluminescent nature. NASA uses CGI and they are open about that, I have already covered it in this thread. Stars Photoluminescence.mp4 Stars Photoluminescence 2.mp4 Stars Photoluminescence 3.mp4
  11. "Scientific education" just means "trained according to a specific belief system". A belief system which, as illustrated in this thread, does not like to be challenged. I honestly don't understand what "we are just in a simulation" means. It sounds like one of those purposely indecipherable phrases that science nerds like to say, but if there is a deeper meaning and/or relevance to it, please don't hesitate to explain it.
  12. Great questions and I would love to know the answers to them.
  13. You claimed "foreign air travel always required vaccine proof" and that claim is false. Again, your premise is erroneous. I travelled within the EU in 2021 without problems with a negative PCR test result and therefore, being vaccinated was not a requirement. EU digital COVID certificate: how it works The EU digital COVID certificate made travel easier in Europe during the pandemic by providing a proof of vaccination, negative test or recovery from COVID-19 that is recognised by all 27 EU member states. https://www.consilium.europa.eu/en/policies/coronavirus-pandemic/eu-digital-covid-certificate/
  14. It's compartmentalised to a large extent, most people involved take care of a specific aspect and don't actually see the bigger picture. Those who do (and there are some) know to keep quiet and just go along with it to keep their social status. The peer pressure aspect of this is fundamental. The human mind is not equipped to swim against such a massive tide and will much more easily adhere to the prevailing paradigm. Whether it makes objective sense to or not is, ultimately, a secondary issue (unfortunately). It also happens in the pharmaceutical industry regarding the nefarious effects of the Covid vaccine.
  15. Yes, I mean science and I fully appreciate that I am a blasphemer.
  16. I understand that my stance is shocking to you, but I would appreciate if you could stop calling me an idiot :) Your take on this issue is somewhat naive in the sense that you see the current scientific doxa as the inevitable result of progress and evolution, rather than a political, ideological and societal construct. The point I was making in my response to Will was that there are limits to the twisting of reality beyond common sense, in the name of a superior knowledge or understanding. I believe the questions I asked him are fundamental.
  17. Thanks, I didn't know that, I didn't reach the point in the thread where this is explained. You could be right. It seemed a little over the top to me, but I appreciate that killing someone puts you at extrememy high stress levels which can induce unusual behaviour. My rationale is that if he was wearing one, then this lends credence to him being a reasonable driver and not a roadhog. As it is very easy (and even the norm) to not wear a helmet in Thailand, those who do wear one tend to be those who actually have safety awareness. This ultimately proves nothing, but I thought it was a relevant indicator nonetheless. In the first 8 pages, it was speculated that he could be one of the crazy drivers who are apparently frequently seen around Chiang Mai. This would not really fit with a helmet-wearing rider, IMO.
  18. The inconsistencies and concerns have been covered in this thread and I encourage you to read through it. "Science denialism" is by far the most common grievance directed at me. I am de facto a blasphemer of the science cult. And this makes complete sense: whoever challenges a belief should be prepared for hostility. In a not so distant past, "God denialism" was a problem for lots of blasphemers. I subscribe to the 1892 Gleasons New Standard Map of the World. Under this model, the known world is surrounded by an ice wall (lots of footage is available if required). What lies beyond is unknown as we are not allowed to go (c.f. Antarctic Treaty covered in this thread). Other planets and stars are not what NASA shows us (CGI), but possibly sonoluminescence (energy/light/gas bodies). Lots of things remain unknown, but the essential thing to understand is that we are living under an illusion. Added bonus (I have several examples such as this one and can post them on request): NASA Contractor Report 3073 https://ntrs.nasa.gov/api/citations/19790005472/downloads/19790005472.pdf Page 10: Analyses of flight paths through changing mean wind fields reported in the literature are primarily two-dimensional and deal only with vertically varying horizontal winds (i.e., having a component parallel to the flat earth only). Page 14: The aircraft trajectory model employed in this study was derived based on the following assumptions: a) The earth is flat and non-rotating.The aircraft trajectory model employed in this study was derived based on the following assumptions: a) The earth is flat and non-rotating.
  19. "Einsteinian mechanics" being just another abstract construct… Do our senses and instinctive common sense matter this little? If you had grown up not knowing anything about the current doxa (such as in an isolated community not subjected to modern education) and someone asked you whether the Earth is still or in motion, what do you think your answer would be, based on your own perceptions and observations? Likewise, if they asked you whether we move around the Sun or the Sun moves around us, what do you think your answer would be?
  20. I apologise if anything I say has already been covered (I only read the 8 first pages). I know there are cases of innocent farangs being framed, etc. However, if the police have charged him with reckless driving, it is likely that eye witnesses testified that he was indeed driving recklessly. The fact that he got down on his knees and waied exaggeratingly (a very unnatural thing to do for a farang) indicates, IMO, that he knows (or someone told him) that this will likely induce sympathy and reduce his sentence. I am speculating here, perhaps I am wrong, but my initial impression is that this guy screwed up by driving recklessly and is now trying his best to avoid jail. I also speculate that some money arrangement could be taking place behind the scenes with the family and/or police to drop the case. Was he wearing a helmet?
  21. Why do you think it's acceptable?
  22. It's a fascinating ailment. Then you mention Ashley Biden's daughter's authenticated diary mentioning their "inappropriate showers" and her "sexualised childhood" and it's dead silence. Sad, really.
  23. Someone's ego is bruised because nobody replied to their topic. But we know the reason why: it's too intelligent.
  24. Of course he didn't. Factcheck.org told him not to. Watch: Big Pharma Funds COVID Fact Checkers FactCheck.org, the organization that flags “misleading” COVID-19 content for Facebook, is supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, a nonprofit funded by vaccine maker Johnson & Johnson, YouTube commentator Jimmy Dore reported. https://childrenshealthdefense.org/defender/j-and-j-covid-fact-checkers-propaganda-jimmy-dore/
