  1. This is a very important point which has not been addressed yet, to my knowledge. It is the first thing I thought of when I read about this visa. What qualifies as a "digital nomad"? This is a vague notion. Presumably not Youtubers (no offense to the Youtubers reading this). Is it solely for people working remotely for a foreign company, i.e. with a valid employment contract? Is there a minimum employment time to qualify (e.g. one has to have been employed for at least two years)? What about freelancers? If I am self-employed in a European country, do I qualify? Under what conditions (proof of turnover – and if so, how many years, there too, what is the minimum duration of activity)? Is it restricted to certain fields?
  2. Birth rates have dropped significantly and consistently throughout most of the world over the past three years.
  3. I'm not asserting anything, but when you take a step back, it is very unlikely that nobody should know where that guy is, if he is indeed hospitalized. It is beginning to look like a classic case of online hype gone viral uncontrollably. The first thing we all should have asked ourselves is "where is the ambulance", the guy didn't just vanish into thin air, with all the witnesses around. The police should have known within minutes which hospital he was in.
  4. We actually don't know how hurt they were. Even the guy who delivered the "penalty kick", despite the dramatic run, could have refrained at the last second and hit a non-lethal area such as the jaw… Update: Pattaya Police Release CCTV, Give Update on Health of Foreign Tourist Involved in Viral Brawl with Security Guards on Soi Six Despite what Pattaya police call heavy false online rumors and gossip, Pattaya police have announced that an unidentified foreigner involved in a viral brawl with Soi 6 guards over the past weekend was NOT, according to the police, seriously injured, in a coma, or deceased and have released what they say is city CCTV footage of the group walking back to a hotel after the incident. https://thepattayanews.com/2024/05/27/update-pattaya-police-release-cctv-give-update-on-health-of-foreign-tourist-involved-in-viral-brawl-with-security-guards-on-soi-six/
  5. Is that not a big hole at the back of his t-shirt (0:10 - 0:12)? Looks like it.
  6. Well actually when you think about it, there would have been an ambulance and people would know where it was headed. Probably Pattaya Memorial Hospital as it is the closest to Soi 6. In any case it would be very easy to know in which hospital he was, Pattaya is small.
  7. I am talking about the guy in the grey t-shirt. Look at him at 0:10, just before he disappears.
  8. Checks out, actually. The guy's grey t-shirt is torn on the video, so it is presumably after the incident indeed. Also, reading the Sun article, it does say "There are rumours that he is in intensive care but we haven't heard anything from hospitals."
  9. Yep… but that would still be the right way to tackle the issue IMO… even if it means less establishments get to open.
  10. Hiring trained Thai personnel would be enough. These guys obviously have no formal training in handling such situations.
  11. I was expecting it. The political pressure is probably immense for them to retract their support, which they have not yet done. Macron is trying to balance several issues simultaneously. Expressing support for Israel (the way Biden did) could lead to a new uprising in France, including from the pro-Palestinian Muslim population (almost 6 million people), and that is the last thing he wants before the Olympic Games.
  12. Good that you tried, my wife wanted to talk to him too, I thought it was better not to as you never know who you're dealing with. I recall sending an email to a local charity/organisation (can't remember which one) about him, I thought it might help, perhaps he had family back home who could help or something. Never got a reply.
  13. The one who was on the Lotus parking lot most of the time? He vanished a few years ago, never knew what happened to him.
  14. What I said is what I said. What you claim I "seemed to be" saying is the product of your biased interpretation.
  15. I agree we should stop here. I think your excessive subjectivity on this issue is warping your perception.
  16. If you read the article I posted, you wouldn't need to ask me all those questions. Here is the first paragraph (now updated to include Slovenia): France, Belgium and Slovenia released statements supporting the world’s top war crimes court and its chief prosecutor’s request for arrest warrants for leaders of Israel and Hamas, after Israel and the United States both harshly condemned the effort.
  17. Now backing the ICC in its current endeavour, followed by a link to an article which gives the specifics.
  18. Logically, yes, although Israel are catching up Hamas quickly in terms of degraded image.
  19. You might interpret it that way, but that is not what I said.
  20. I posted a relevant article above. France and Belgium support request for arrest warrants of Israel and Hamas leaders https://apnews.com/article/israel-iran-hamas-latest-05-21-2024-2932f9c3878af8aee603bcc759a57cc6
  21. Please quote the part where I purportedly said it is about prosecution. To me, what is notable is the continued exposure and degradation of Israel's image.
  22. Indeed, but they conveniently stopped reporting these stats over a year ago.
