  1. Yeah, it's funny how some people just can't let go. The denial is astonishing, especially from those who believed the promise of a "solution" which turned out not to be one.
  2. Who decides what a credible source is? Who draws the list of who can be heard and who should be silenced?
  3. Per the CDC ???? Thanks for having the honesty of writing "reality" in between quotation marks.
  4. It does, yeah, I don't think this is actually the issue. I recall a couple of times when they specifically asked if it was debit or credit. I even asked if I could scan in some kind of way but they said no, only cash or credit card. Maybe the owner of the shop can decide on these things and it's not a standard thing. Maybe they are encouraged by banks to only accept credit cards as they are more profitable.
  5. Most tattooed people have one thing in common, and that is we don't care too much about what other people think, which is a good thing given the level of ignorance, stereotyping and closed-mindedness I'm seeing in this thread.
  6. I have never been able to pay with a debit card in 7/11, only credit is accepted, and I have always wondered what this policy was all about. Other shops such as Lotus (even the small ones), accept them.
  7. Same here, the ink quality has drastically improved over the years.
  8. And any lawsuit, if fruitful, would only cost them a fraction of what they are making. The business model is remarkable, but how anyone can think these people care about our wellbeing is beyond comprehension.
  9. You nailed it, as usual. I wish I could break out of my social media-fueled bubble of conspiracies and join the rational, science-abiding crew but my IQ is not high enough unfortunately.
  10. I would go to a temple and talk to a monk about it, if you're in Thailand.
  11. Are you suggesting the seriousness of her condition is due to the fact that she is not jabbed?
  12. Pfizer's number 1 sales rep flees the ship before the reckoning. Pathetic. Good riddance though.
  13. Same here, us unjabbed are a very inconvenient control group for the "take the vaccine or die" catchphrase.
  14. "live with farang for what" This excerpt from the OP sums up what I see very often in Thai-Western relationships (not all of them, thankfully, but many): the girl "puts up" with a farang who doesn't understand Thai ways, often doesn't even speak the language or make any effort in this respect, and the one reward she expects for this is the financial security which the average Thai man can't give her. When it becomes obvious that this expectation is not going to be fulfilled, it leads to frustration. Then there are the misunderstandings, what p**ses off a Thai is incomprehensible to a farang and vice versa. Making a relationship work requires work and commitment, and this is tenfold in cross-cultural relationships. I just think lots of people aren't equipped for that (which is why the vast majority of people choose a mate from their own country). The key to success in Thailand is to master the language and culture, it allows you to understand and be understood. Otherwise you're just moving around in fog. And to Thai women "looking for a farang boyfriend" with all sorts of expectations in mind, I often suggest looking for a good Thai man (there are plenty) but of course they don't listen, as Einstein once said, "it is easier to break an atom than a prejudice".
  15. Yes, to be honest I am surprised it took them that long to deplatform him.
  16. Yes, from what I can see (I speak and read Thai at intermediate level) the Thai text says it's the "608 old-age group from January to July". An essential factor is the underlying health conditions (if any) of the said "old people", but if (as I suspect) this is missing then this graphic is just correlating "unvaccinated" and death, which would be biased and irrelevant.
  17. It's a habit as well. I recall a street poll after the mandates were dropped in the US, asking masked people why they still wore it. I was surprised and appalled at how many people gave answers like "it feels weird without it", "I'm used to it now" etc.
  18. Nor is it documentation that the vaccine did not cause the event. The main issue with the VAERS system is underreporting, I fully covered that point earlier in this thread.
  19. "I can get a COVID vaccine and my dog gets hit by a car – I can make that report and it will show up in the database," Salmon said. "It does not mean that my getting a COVID vaccine caused my dog to get hit by a car." Right, and that is a typical VAERS entry of course. Ridiculous!
  20. It shouldn't be taken that literally. It's a quote I find quite fitting for people blinded by conceit and self-importance. A touch of humility would be very welcome.
