  1. I live in Chonburi city, there was something going on on the sea bridge last week. Loads of fire engines 20+ maybe if them. Some had Laem Chabang port on them, rescue boats, rescue jet skis, Police and army. Once I got past the queue that was causing there was a load of army vehicles coming down the bridge in the direction of where all the others were parked.

Apart from that and a few more helicopters than normal, I haven't noticed anything.

  2. Yep your pictures are wrong.

Tyres may look new but the rubber may have lost it's ability.

You may have weak side walled tyres. Whether through being cheap tyres or faulty.

It could be worn or loose suspension bushes or joints.

    Worn out dampers.

Diff playing up ? check oil level.

    bent axle.

rear brake shut off valve not working. Although I think you said you aren't braking.

bent or baldy installed - pretensioned anti-roll bar.

Loose/bent/worn bushes panhard rod. Is it Live rear axle or IRS ?

Does it have a rear subframe ? Loose/worn bushes ?

  3. The only way to express your dissatisfaction here is to leave the company. It makes little difference as their are very few companies which are all owned by already incredibly rich families though, but....

Both myself and my wife left one particular mobile phone provider last month due to their pretty much non-existent mobile net service. I didn't keep the same number and said no I am not keeping my number and not paying a daily rate until I open my new service as I don't want anything to do with this company anymore. Cancel everything now. My wife kept her number.

Obviously they can't contact me, but have repeatedly phoned my wife offering her offers to come back. One was increasing the internet speed for free, but as she pointed out it doesn't work at all most the time where ever you are so what difference does it make.

Another time they asked her what her new company was and then told her they were now sharing transmitters or whatever with them and their service would be the same as the new company. One of her friends is using both companies and tried both at the same time. New company works well, yet again none to intermitent service from the old.

Nothing will change here for a long time. We all know (except the newbies and very naïve) what the problems are and why.................................................

  4. Rust isn't a problem here.

BMW- Merc parts prices, crashed and/or thrashed cars, poorly maintained old cars, weak BMW transmissions are.

Stay away from modified cars as in the usually mistaken believe that it will go faster.

Toyota parts are used because they are cheaper, stronger and easier to obtain.

Plenty of secondhand parts available here for replacement or upgrades whether you go the BMW engine or Toyota engined route.

Try to avoid small diffed BMWS incase they have been thrashed. Medium and large case are much stronger.

BMW make nice handling and usually nice looking cars (before they started on those hideous chavvy SUVS) but have weak transmissions and quite expensive parts. Mercs, I've never understood the appeal at all.

  5. PM CQ.

    Anyway....

The tyres are scrap, you can see they are cracked. 3 to 5000 a corner.

How many years tax is owed on it, you will have to pay that.

Money and time spent finding the owner. Quite likely a foreigner who has left Thailand, cheap car abandoned in condo block.

Most likely abandoned due to an expensive repair or the above, but both will be troublesome.

  6. Ethanol likes high compression (high compression ratios or turbos) and although burns slower than benzene it burns quicker than benzene without knock due to the higher octane number which means it can be run leaner than benzene. Which means it can be better than benzene at higher(ish) revs, i.e. not eco mode.

Due to the multi fuel system it is a compromise for both so ethanol is not used to it's best as in racing fuels where it excels.

  7. Anyway, how is this the fault of the car (banger)? The guy ran directly into a curb - that would bend the tie rods on any car, new or old.

Bent tie rods don't cause play........Cause bad handling though.....biggrin.png

Google says the tie rods and tie rod ends are some of the most common causes for play in the steering, transam.. so does my mechanic. Given the onset of this problem happened suddenly at the moment of a minor accident, it sounds reasonable. Certainly the car handled quite precisely before he ran into the curb.

CQ Lampang it's not hard in the advert you looked at

your now spending 2000 baht on a car you don't own according to your OP or were you telling a porky bit like all those on Kaideesmile.png

No, the owner will pay for the repair. I'm merely considering buying the car back in future. The ads on Kaidee are in Thai, you know, so I have no idea where they're located. Its far too difficult to go looking more than about 20-30 kilometers away.

Copy and paste the place name into google maps.
