I am lucky enough to spend 8/10 weeks at a time in LOS then I have to return to the UK for business and other commitments for 4/5 weeks at a time .

When I am away I find myself bored and frustrated

I miss my wife too much......

I miss my home in Korat.......

Mostly I miss my son, now 9 months, way too much!!!!

Last trip they came with me for 2 months to the UK. My wife had a great time but would not want to live in London and neither would I......

I know I am not answering the OP so Jocky.........yes I am jealous of those of you who manage to be here with there loved ones all the time! !

Last few days we finally got a bit of rain in my village near Korat.

It hadn't rained for over 6 weeks! !

I know that the Thai schools in the Korat area were closed today for Teacher Training/Meetings.

I was going to the Mall and Tesco but left it until Monday to avoid the crowds.

I had forgotten most of that! !

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.

Sadly cannot let children do this in the UK anymore, too many sicko's

Me too. I changed it, but the ISP's here in LOS use caching proxy servers that don't get flushed very often. As a result, it can take a long time for you to see a changed avatar. Since the graphic that represents the avatar has the same name as it was before the change, the proxy server thinks it can use the cached version; no need to download the new one.

Sometimes it takes days before the new version shows up....

I connect using AIS through my mobile phone.

It's hard situation , coz "kreng Jai" word เกรงใจ  .. but if  you do it one  time, it will  not stop..it will happend again and again

Ironically, I came in from a howling downpour to read JD's post. Of course, said downpour didn't last long enough to do any real good for the farmers or the water supply. Just enough to muddy the roads and soak Ms. Buadhai and I as we repotted some plants.

At least I've now had a shower today....
