It would appear to some of us that the big ugly spending bill is going to lead to a massive amount of additional debt, as Elon Musk and Ray Dalio very accurately state. Many of us would question the wisdom of giving huge tax breaks to the super wealthy when the US economy is already carrying an unsustainable amount of debt, and the interest rates required to service that debt continue to rise. It does not look like the Fed will be able to lower interest rates anytime soon, as the appetite for American debt seems to be waning dramatically, for at least a dozen good reasons. For those of us who don't buy into the sloganeering we realize that very little manufacturing is coming back to the US, five major US companies have just announced that they're shifting a significant amount of their production overseas to avoid reciprocal tariffs, and that trend is likely to just continue. In addition tourism to the US is way down, due to Trump's increasingly open hostility toward the majority of the planet. Trump, nor his substandard team seem to have absolutely no understanding of globalization and the inherent ecosystems within manufacturing, and he doesn't seem to understand why manufacturing has declined in the US over the last 55 years. It certainly didn't happen in a vacuum. I predict that Trump's attempts to impose tariffs and bring manufacturing back to the US will be a massive failure of epic proportions.

Nobody knows how high the US deficit truly is, very few remember that Cheney got a resolution passed in 2001 allowing the US to conduct the entire Iraq and Afghan campaigns completely off the books. So there's at least another 4 to 10 trillion dollars in additional debt that doesn't show in the official figures. There's no question that this kind of debt is unsustainable and he's just calling it like he sees it. Trump added 7 trillion during his first term, and it looks like he's determined to add at least 10 trillion during this term. That is what Mr. Debt does. His big ugly spending bill is a disaster.

Nothing wrong with hitting on a civilian. Just keep in mind most women who would be willing to date a man 30 years older than themselves would be expecting some sort of sponsorship. Which is all good, as long as you are in a position to help. In my opinion you either pay on the front end or the back end so it's almost all the same thing.

Maybe it is partly due to the "big super ugly spending bill", something even his buddy Musk is calling out as horrific and very bad policy. A huge tax cut for the super rich is not what the people asked for, Donnie. A quote from Musk. "This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination," Musk posted on his site X, as some lawmakers have expressed reservations about the details. "Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it."

What you don't seem to understand is that the vast majority of Democrats do not buy into the woke nonsense, we are centrists and we never liked any of that garbage. You, like so many Republicans simply don't understand the fact that there's a little bit of nuance in this discussion, and you think everything is black and white, and you could not be further from the truth.

They have about two dozen reasons to be disillusioned with politics, what should be taking place is that every single government official should be shamed, every single time they walk out of their house, every single time they walk into a restaurant, every single time they walk into a grocery store, they should be made to feel that they are the totally compromised, super corrupt, ridiculously arrogant fools that they truly are, and their families need to know who their parents are. They are all weak, pathetic, cowardly, self entitled hooligans, who are accustomed to a perch atop the ivory tower, scared to death of being taken down a notch, and perhaps now being asked to be accountable for their heinous and unforgivable actions? Of course they will resort to whatever dirty tactics they can. That is who and what they are. Filth. They are the deplorables. These lowlifes have been bullying the Thai people for many years now. Guess they never expected the favor to be returned. They all assume they are "above it all". Mightier than the masses. Too rich to touch. Well, perhaps things are about to change. Perhaps your lives are about to take a turn for the worse, and you and your families are going to be subject to intense harassment for the cowardly and highly dishonorable positions you accepted. After all, the fortune comes at some cost, right? One can only dream. Never forget these absolute creeps stole an election from the Thai people and deposed a highly competent PM, that was duly elected and in his place put a young incompetent that has no idea what she's doing, and is running the country into the ground.

Report Pattaya Motorbike Drivers Protest Strict Helmet Law Fines
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
A person who rides a motorbike for a living not wearing a high quality helmet is beyond comprehension, and one of the most ridiculous things a person could possibly do. For them to compound this by complaining about the need to wear a helmet is just beyond ridiculous. These ninnies simply need to be ignored and their protests mean less than zero. -

Try to show just to shred of decency, we know that you have at least one nanogram of humanity within those ridiculously bankrupt souls of yours! So try to show some kind of compassion during this time of tragedy for your people. -
Travel Foreign Arrivals Under Scrutiny as Thailand Steps Up Security
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Perhaps looking for people with records is something that they should have been doing since the beginning? Isn't it always a good idea to have at least a minor amount of screening for deadbeats and criminals? -
Though there are so many different factors at play here one has to wonder why the Thai baht continues to strengthen at a time when there are so many economic headwinds, and so many difficulties locally within the Thai economy. While a strong baht lowers costs for importers, it presents significant challenges for exporters and those earning income in foreign currencies. This comes at a time when Thailand’s economic fundamentals remain weak and lack strong growth momentum. Granted the SGP (stable genius policies) in the US are likely giving a lift to the baht, as there does seem to be a an exodus from dollar denominated Investments and from the dollar in general, especially at the bond level. There has been some speculation that the current strength of the baht is somehow tied into the price of gold. Does anybody understand the fundamentals behind that? Any predictions where this will go over the next year or two?

There's no reason to ever hit a woman, ever under any circumstances, whether or not this level of retaliation was justified is a slightly different story and a very complicated story, but these goons never should have slapped that woman. That was just dumber than dumb. The second more obvious aspect of this is that Pattaya and Phuket are now attracting the lowest quality tourists in Thailand on a fairly consistent basis, and we're seeing more and more incidents unfolding as a result of these guys hanging out in hordes. In a sense the administration is to blame, in their utter desperation to attract big tourist numbers they've gone ahead and attracted a significant number of the lowlife goons.

As the article states the reasons are very complex, no need to oversimplify things.

Those $3900 iphones will sell like there is no tomorrow. This world is so full of delusion, manufacturing is not coming back to America anytime soon, and Trump is going to do the exact opposite of making America great again, he's diminishing America by the day.
-
Easy answer. Mr. Trump is taking a wrecking ball to the pillars of American power and innovation. His tariffs are endangering U.S. companies’ access to global markets and supply chains. He is slashing public research funding and gutting our universities, pushing talented researchers to consider leaving for other countries. He wants to roll back programs for technologies like clean energy and semiconductor manufacturing and is wiping out American soft power in large swaths of the globe. Sheltered behind tariff walls, American companies will sell almost exclusively to domestic consumers. The loss of international sales will degrade corporate earnings, leaving companies with less money to invest in their businesses. American consumers will be stuck with U.S.-made goods that are of middling quality but more expensive than global products, owing to higher U.S. manufacturing costs. Working families will face rising inflation and stagnant incomes. Traditional high-value industries such as car manufacturing and pharmaceuticals are already being lost to China; the important industries of the future will follow. Imagine Detroit or Cleveland on a national scale.

Musk is a highly delusional man who has become more obnoxious and more ridiculous as he's become wealthier. He is the very epitome of someone who is not wearing his power lightly. He is an absolute goon.

Sharkeys raised their prices on a plate with two sides from $21 to $27 in the past 12 months. Trader Joe's sliced smoked salmon went from $19 a pound to $28 a pound in the past 12 months, and wholesale sockeye salmon is at its lowest price in a decade at $3 a lb. Aged manchego cheese at the same store went from $14 to $17 a pound in 6 months. Repairmen are now quoting $150 an hour for basic stuff. I could go on and on and on. Inflation is raging in the US. I don't see anything coming down in price. I realized that you really want to believe that the Goon is having a positive effect on the economy, but he's tearing it asunder, and he has not done a single thing to bring down inflation. Quite the contrary.
-
You are absolutely correct, Trump makes Reagan, Bush Sr., and Bush Jr. looked like stable geniuses, and exceptionally talented diplomats, and that's saying a lot. The reality is that he's setting the bar so low anybody by comparison looks good. 2nd worst of all time? Likely.
-
Totally bogus nonsense. I just got back from the US and everyone I talked to is complaining about how inflation just rages on. Nearly every one of my staples that I purchase on each trip has gone up 10% or more in the last 6 months. They can say whatever they want, the government can come up with these fake numbers and lie, lie, lie, just like the president. They use magnesium ore and other ridiculous commodities to justify them, but they're not using numbers that affect our lives on a daily basis, I can tell you that with absolute certainty. Inflation is raging in the US.
