1. I don't see any link to the tik tok click so I don't know how to view this video. 2. Thailand and the police seem to make it a habit of shooting themselves in the foot, they're making this event much bigger than it actually is by blowing it out of proportion, overreacting and getting themselves in the news once again for their repressive tactics and overbearing actions. 3. Is criticism of Thailand illegal now? Is having an opinion about Thailand illegal? Is posting your opinion online illegal? It doesn't matter how we feel about the what this woman posted, in a free and open democracy opinions are just that. And draconian measures to suppress them are not beneficial optics. The fear of bad opinions and their effect is something to behold from men who represent themselves as adults and a nation that represents itself as a democracy.

China slashes visa fees: Tourists to travel to the PRC for less
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
No thanks, at one point I did want to visit but I've lost interest. I just don't feel like supporting the commies, and I absolutely despise the leaders in China. Their repressive tactics are overbearing, their claims on the South China Sea are ridiculous, and by the day that nation becomes less appealing, and less interesting. No thanks. -
Although subsequent variants have shown themselves to be more virulent than previous variants, so far every subsequent variant has been weaker than the original Delta. Covid is obviously a very clever virus, and continues to figure out ways to spread, however the fatalities are dropping consistently and there's no reason for any of us to be fearful at this point. It's endemic, it's part of life and personally I'm will remain dependent on my immune system at this point, no more boosters, and no more masks for me.

COVID-19 infections rising, public advised to wear face masks
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
There's a pretty huge gulf between deciding not to wear a mask and denying covid. I've never denied covid, but I stopped wearing a mask 18 months ago and I'm certainly not going to start wearing one again. Not gonna happen. I rely on my healthy immune system, good diet, exercise, state of mind, and not on constant vaccines and masking. I do not and will not live in a state of fear, despite what the authorities want. -
COVID-19 infections rising, public advised to wear face masks
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It is the ones who feel the need to mask up, after 3 1/2 years of viral devolution, that are delicate and fragile. Real men depend on their own immune systems. At least at this late stage. And it is the extreme need to follow a government sponsored mandate that is bizarre. No thanks. -
Chinese Tourist Exposes Nana Area as Potential Danger for Women
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
She would likely get locked up for years, or have her organs harvested by the CCP franchise, back in her super paranoid, repressive, home nation run by super freak numskulls, China. -

What bad behavior? Recording a video stating her opinion is no big deal. Certainly the authorities won't like it. Stalin was intolerant of criticism too. -
COVID-19 infections rising, public advised to wear face masks
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Nope, done with the masking forever unless the Bubonic plague returns. I'm depending on my body's immune system, I'm not going to be cowering like little man scared of zombies, for the rest of my life.- 198 replies

Chinese Tourist Exposes Nana Area as Potential Danger for Women
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Any good looking woman who's well-dressed in the Nana area is going to attract attention, what is the big deal, why is that dangerous, what is the issue? Why such shoddy and inarticulate reporting?- 111 replies

I guess it's just a matter of perspective but I think drinking nearly every day is boring. Sobriety seems like so much more fun, drinking occasionally as a change of pace is cool, drinking all the time is just nasty and toxic, and makes you feel like crap.

Causing somebody's death due to reckless driving and sleepiness should be considered a very serious crime. At a minimum she should spend a few years in prison, have her driver's license revoked, have her car confiscated, and be liable to pay the family a few million baht. Doesn't there have to be a deterrent in order for society to function properly?

Absolutely not, first of all I don't do guilt, so no matter what she says, it would not have made me feel guilty. Secondarily, I don't trust the word of strangers, very rarely can strangers be counted upon. I'm not opposed to helping a stranger out from time to time, but when one asks for money I have to question where they are coming from and whether or not they're real, and usually I go with my instincts which tells me they're not.

In the many years that I've been here in Thailand I've pushed back against corrupt cops or ones who were out of bounds, on many occasions. I've never been jailed for it, I've never had anything horrible happen to me, and in many instances they have backed down. So when they say jump I do not jump, when most people say jump, I do not jump. We make choices in life.

Nothing will be done, as Anutin is a terrible leader, very incapable, and very unwilling to take industry head-on and deal with any of the issues plaguing this nation. He is totally and completely compromised. The public urges government assistance in tackling air pollution. If you goons were not bought and paid for by big agra, the burning would stop. It is your compromised nature and your unwillingness to put up a good fight, that is the major cause of the air apocalypse we are facing. People are dying and suffering in hospitals on your watch, and their blood is on your hands. You are cowards. You are incompetents. You deserve to be voted out with a vengeance. You all deserve prison or exile. How Chiang Mai became the world’s most polluted city- https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/4/12/how-chiang-mai-became-the-worlds-most-polluted-city At least one NGO is calling it what it is. Field burning, not forest fires is the main cause of bad air here.

There's no doubt in many of our minds that he would abuse power if elected for a second term. He would feel like he was infinitely more above the law than he had been previously been, after getting away with everything he would have gotten away with, should he not be locked up from the current batch of trials. I think we would be moving toward fascism in a very horrendous fashion. He is a very dangerous man.
