I'd be happy to meet other linux users in Thailand (shouldn't be ubuntu only in my opinion). I have never ever seen a machine in public place (starbucks and the likes) running linux after almost 7 years in BKK... there _must_ be some linux users here

Panithan: CRES in control of areas around Rajprasong now
Deputy PM's Secretary-General Panithan Wattanayakorn said Friday that the Centre for Resolution of Emergency Situation is now in control of the situation of the areas around the Rajprasong rally zone.
Panithan, acting government spokesman, said security checkpoints of police and troops managed to block people from entering the protest zone.
"So, the situation is now stable and the authorities are in control," Panithan said.
I went to my office in Langsuan with a motobike this morning. I didn't see _any_ policeman or soldier.

hmmm there's one way to make easy and free... just use VLC which can be used as a client AND as a server to stream whatever it can read.

well, lxde is basically a combo of different exisiting projects such as openbox, pcmanfm, leafpad, xarchiver + some of their own apps.
1. What did you like or dislike about thisNever used lxde but i'm a huge fan of openbox (the window manager), it is extremely elegant. ultra fast and simple but very powerfull yet and low on RAM. configuration is done through a xml file but there are some apps to help you (obmenu or obconf). i guess lxde projects includes some of those apps or variants. in addition, nothing can beat, in my opinion, the right click menu under the mouse cursor (all the *box do that, xfce as well), it is _very_ efficient and fast.
in any case, the best way is to give it a try.

So maybe we could start with a first meet up as Crushdepth said ? Anyone with any idea WRT the place we could do that ? I guess network+beer are the only requirements... I'd be there if it's in BKK, otherwise, it may be more difficult.
FWIW, i have 6+ years experience with Arch Linux so i know this distro quite well. And i just moved my brand new shiny Thinkpad (greaaaaat machine) to CRUX.
