  1. New NFL week 1 schedule from true:

    NFL 2019-20 Week # 1

    Fri 6 Green Bay @ Chicago (L) 0720-1030 TS HD/NFL Network

Mon 9 LA Rams @ Carolina (L) 0000-0325 TS HD

Mon 9 Kansas City @ Jacksonville (L) 0000-0325 NFL Network

    Mon 9 Pittsburgh @ New England (L) 0720-1030 TS HD/NFL Network

    Tue 10 Houston @ New Orleans (L) 0610-0920 TS HD/NFL Network

    Tue 10 Denver @ Oakland (L) 0920-1230 TS HD/NFL Network

Looks like NFL Network have the rights this year to broadcast live games.  It added two more games on Sunday, the chiefs vs the jaguars at 0000 and thegiants and Cowboys at 0325.  Choose one or the other, wear out the "back" button switching back and forth, or look for repals later. TS usually replays the games in the afternoon but their online schedule is not posted yet.

  2. Looks like they will televise regular season.  I wonder if they will realize that the main language should be English before thier call center lights up when the first game starts in Thai.   Here's the schedule for week 1:

    NFL 2019-20 Week # 1

    Tue 10 Denver @ Oakland (L) 0920-1230 TS HD/NFL Network

According to theiier schedule it loooks like NFL network (672) will broadcast live games this year. Unfortunately the nFL Network schedule on the net doesn't show them broadcasting any of these games. I  guess that we will have to see at 0720 Friday morning.  All bets sre off until the kickoff!  Keep your fingers crossed!

  3. Week 4 schedule:

I haven't received my email yet but this week s games are all on Thursday night, Friday morning here, and True already has their schedule on the online TV Guide

    Friday  8/30/2019

    Steelers at Panthers           0600     666/672

    Chargers at 49ers               0900     666/672

All of the games televised on True Sport HD, 666, are rebroadcasts of NFL Network.  When regular season starts it will be interesting to see what true will air since NFL Netwirk can not televise regular season games live unless they have renegioated their contract with the NFL.

  4. How early can I renew my 5 year DL?  It expires on December 14 and I am doing my yearly extension on October 15 .  I remember that I will need a "proof of residence" which I think is only good for 30 days and I would like to get it when I do my extension as Immigration is a 200 kilometer trip..  That would mean that I would have to renew my DL before November 15.  Can I do that?  I don't care about loss of any time.

  5. Here's the week 2 schedule that I received from True:

    NFL Preseason 2019

    Sun 18 Cleveland @ Indianapolis (L) 0300-0600 TS HD/NFL Network (672)

    Sun 18 Kansas City @ Pittsburgh (L) 0630-0900 TS HD/NFL Network (672)

    Sun 18 Dallas @ LA Rams (L) 0900-1200 TS HD/NFL Network (672)

Although there are Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Monday night games they don't show here.  NFL Network schedule on the net shows them airing the Bears/Giants Friday game, 0630 on Saturday here, and the GB/Ravens Monday night game, 0700 Tuesday here, the True schedule doesn't show it.  So I'd keep watch on the true on screen schedule.  True does update schedules during the week so if I get an update I will post it.  My internet, TOT, has been extremely slow since early Monday morning, is it TOT or my system?

Great to have games from the get-go of the season.

And thanks again for putting the broadcast schedule up.

Ch. 672, NFL Network, seems they will be offering more preseason games on a delayed basis. Just right now the HOU-GB game is on, and I would expect throughout the preseason they'll be airing games during their 'down time', after midnight there.

Once pre-season is over, if their contract has not changed, NFL Network (672) will only br able to televise  on a delayed basis not live.   Let's hope that True will continue to broadcast the live games on 666 and 667.  We'll see on September 6.

  7. Looks like NFL will be televised this year, even preseason.  I will post the weekly schedule when I get it as I did last year.  I only discovered it because a replay of the Denver - Atlanta game is being televised right now.  Here's the schedule that I received, and ignored, since I didn't expect preseason to be televised:

    NFL Pre-Season 2019

    Fri 2 Denver @ Atlanta (L) 0700-1000 TS HD2/TVS 672

    Fri 9 NY Jets @ NY Giants (L) 0600-0900 TS HD2/TVS 672

    Fri 9 LA Chargers @ Arizona (L) 0900-1200 TS HD2/TVS 672

    Sat 10 Tampa Bay @ Pittsburgh (L) 0630-0930 TS HD2/TVS 672

    Sun 11 Dallas @ San Francisco (L) 0800-1100 TS HD/ TVS 672

You need the 800k baht in the bank on the date you apply for the extension and then for 3 months after that day. After the 3 months you can reduce it to 400k baht until you top it up to 800k baht at least 2 months before you apply for your next extension.

No reports of the need to show prove the money is in the bank every 3 months. Jomtien immigration is having people show their bank book 3 months after the application to confirm the 800k baht is still in the bank.

Yes it will be accepted that you have an arrangement for a long stay at the hotel. I does not have to be for the full year though.

I had to go to my office, Nakhon Sawan,  last week to do a 90 day because I forgot to mail it in and it was the 7th day past due.  The office was empty so I talked to the IO about the new regs.

She basically confirmed what you said about the 800k except her read was that it had to be back up to 800k 3 months before the next extension. She was not sure if/how they would determine if the plan was adhered to during the extension and would have to check.

I asked her about the 65k/month option and showed her my two pension statements but only one is deposited into a Thai bank, my SSA monthly payments.  I showed her the bank book with this deposit which is just over 65k/month.  She said that I could only used monthly FFT deposits into a Thai bank as proof and would need a letter from the bank stating the monthly FFT transfers that I had received for the past 12 months.  I asked her if she had an example of the letter but she said that she didn't and tyhe bank should know what is required.  That'll be a treat at a small branch in the boonies where nobody speaks English.

I then asked her about the combo method and at first she didn't understand but then came around.   She finally said that if the monthly deposit was not 65/k I would need the letter from the bank for the last 12 months stating the monthly amount and the total for 12 months and also a bank book that showed the difference between that and 800k had been in the bank for 3 months before and a letter from the bank.  When I asked her how much had to remain in the account after the extension she said that she didn't know and would have to ask "Joke"!

The next extension will be fun but is not due until November and maybe, just maybe, they will have things straightened out by them but I doubt it, TIT!

I have someone wiring me a loan from US this time, which should get here before Thurs, I hope. I'll be more prepared now. I got Dee Money set up. And, waiting a week for Wells Fargo to check my phone number for unknown reason (to send wires here). Google Voice can receive SMSs with OTPs from US banks (using a US number). It's instant.

I wonder if a deposit from Paypal Thailand would look like a foreign deposit into my Thai bank. Paypal Thailand is actually based in Singapore. Anyone know? It says "dummy branch" in my statement. Maybe IO will relate to that. 555.

Why not open an account at Bangkok Bank and have them do a swift transfer directly into your account through Bangkok Bank New York Branch.  They have an ABA number.  Set it up so BBL sends you an SMS message when the funds arrive and are deposited.  They use the current exchange rate on the day that it deposited. Thai's how I do all of the transfers from the US..

They do, the applicant supplies documentary evidence of their incomes, then the Embassy supplies the letter for Immigration in English regardless of their nationality.

The letters clearly state Mr X has supplied documents showing an income of X then the letter is certified by an Embassy official.

All that the freaking letter certifies is that they have received the documents, it in no way certifies that the documents are true.  The US Embassy would never look at any documentation, you had to put the amount that you received on the form and come in in person and raise your hand under threat of purgery that the information was true.  Which is better?  Neither country certified that the actual amount that you were receiving and it would be doubtful that any other country's embassy does a check either as it would take a long time to verify private pensions and other sources even if it were legal in those countries.

Since Immigration have indeed carried on accepting what they have been accepting for years from the rest of the less churlish Embassies, some may have jumped the gun or got it wrong. Do you think IO backed down and it is they who don't have the cajones, simply because a few Embassies spat the dummy?

Positively, it all started with the BE and then the others followed suit kinda like the BE calling the head of Immigration as "the right honorable gentleman" and bending over and being butt  (deleted).!

If you were correct why only citizens of 4 out of 100 embassies affected?  Time to look at reality.  Case of embassy lazies.

Because the 4 Embassies didn't have the balls to stand  up to Immigration and tell them that this is what you have accepted for years and if yo won't accept it any longer then you, Thai Immigration, release a statement to the citizens of these countries that you will no longer accept the Income Affidavits provided by them.  It would have never happened!

A lot of expats aren't IT literate.

    They don't own a PC.

    Don't have internet banking.

With the new requirements they've now been thrown into the 21st century, which is akin to living on Mars for them.

Even if they are computer literate in the US there are only a few banks that will allow you to open an account with a foreign address.  I have two pensions, one from SSA that is deposited in BBL with no problems.  The other one is a private pension and they  refuse to deposit it if a foreign bank , even BBl and they have a US bank number.  So the money goes to a relatives account and is sent here periodically but not on a regular basis due to the relatives medical problems.  I receive a statement from both SSA and the private fund that says exactly what the benefits will be for the following year and have always out the total on the affidavit and have the backup statements but it is not all deposited in a Thai Bank each month.  If the baht falls below 29/$ then I will have a problem.

No. A case of the four Embassies, where the vast majority of expats in Thailand come from, were not prepared to tell lies.

They never told lies, they always represented it as a sworn notarized statement.  If they had stood up to immigration and told them that due to financial laws in their countries that what all that they could provide just like the US Embassy did in 2014 when the UK Embassy did this crap once before.  It all blew over then and would have this time also.

you will need to keep a minimum balance of 400K that can't be touched during the year.

That would be a dumb rule if you only need 160k to make up the difference.  I can see the before and after but hope that the minimum would at least be the same as the amount you needed if less than 400k.  We'll just have to wait and see, and if there is no written policy it will be up to each individual office, how nice!

Let's not even mention that the US dollar has been weakening against the Baht for years.

That's true but the problem that I have is why?  The dollar peaked out at over 56 to 1 baht in January 1998 when I came here to stay, it  fell to around 40 for years and now it's down to 31.  What's the cause, and although I don't like TRump, I don't think that it's due to him?  No trolling, I just don't understand!
