When will they understand that it is the bad exchange rate that is keeping them away and is expected to get worse next year and a potential double entry visa might attract a few tourists but I doubt many would consider staying longer costing more money .

Indeed The Exchange rate has hurt many folk.

However not so many complaining pre 2008... or further back when it briefly afforded over 100 Baht to the £

Fast forward.. to The ExPats reeling and whinging

working out teir living arrangements on current trends.

just as folk do with loans and personal income.

Failure to alow for changes in the markets.. Shates mortgages etc.

compound that to selling up completely in their land of origin.. to negate income.. and an escape parachute

???????? is not and never been your country to dictate terms... You are a tolerated guest at b st.. even if married to a Thai.

    Amazing Thailand ????????

  2. I noticed Thailand is getting more and more quiet the past two years..as the Recession from USA Europe is hitting home in Thailand.

Crime Scams Cheating are therefore well on the UP...This is no excuse however.

Thailand ..The Land of Smiles..is fast becoming The Land of Viles with this increased amount of incidents and bad publicity posted on Thai Visa.

  3. Self exile, with a private jet, cooks and serving staff, chauffeurs,

international travel, and his OWN PERSONAL ISLAND...

and what ever he wants, EXCEPT coming back to Thailand.

Most issan people would be ecstatic just to live in his bathrooms.

Hell, living in his cars would be an improvement for many.

The guy is an ego maniac and has no connection with the real Thai people.

Maybe in jail he might actually meet some.

If he's buying the coffee...Can i have a Latte please?...And will his reconcilliation by means of football...involve Huge expenditure on Chelsea Man City signings for Chonburi Utd.???

  4. Vote with your feet...Do not go in these places....Keep an eye on your Check-bin...better still your Thai G/f to do it...Don;t get smashed...or angry towards Thais.

Yes agreed on The Russians...why this reciprocal Visa agreement exists with Russia is beyond me...must be good corruption income.Very brash aggressive and ignorant culture.

Germans...never known them to be aggro in Phuket...they have a huge community in Naklua...with many great bars and restaurants at sensible prices. They hate the Russians...with good reason..."Don't mention the War".

  5. Does this survey really matter???...We are... and always have been tolerated guest of the Kingdom of Thailand.

We have little or NO RIGHTS...Owning a Motor Bike, Car Mobile Phone...Holding a Bank Account is as good as it gets.

Thaksin made a lot more hoops for the dross element of Tourist/Ex-Pat community,to jump through...Rightfully so.

I do not see a problem with his return...Or the current Administration. But then i know my place...and respect i am a guest and always will be.

Go Thailand..... enjoy..Rent...Pay your way..obey the rules Then go your way...must and is... is the best way.

  6. What does he mean,,,Ruining the Islands reputation,??

It's been trashed for some years now...Overpriced Scams Jet-ski and Tut Tuk Mafias mugging off tourists...Is it no wonder many leave vowing never to return...and frequent holidaymakers are no longer coming back.

The Taxi and Tuk Tuk system has been a shambles for years...Patong's Road layout is ideal for a 10 baht Song-tail(Baht Bus ) system ...That has operated in Pattaya for many years, with Taxi Meter Cabs coming and going without fear of reprisal.

It's time Phuket and many parts of Thailand understand their is a recession on....and they have to try harder to entice customers...rather than raise prices scam cheat their way to make a living.

  7. The run up to the election is what they should be concerned with first. Then monitor the voting place. Let the people police themselves . The Thai voter as do other countries voters deserve what they legally vote into office. When, not if, unlawful acts are alleged/proven, disqualify every candidate of that party in the Province. Then press charges against those involved.

    Sorry let me rephrase that.

Do not allow foreign independent witnesses in the first place.

    1) Monitor the whole process yourself so that you can see if any voting deviates from that with which you wish.

    2) Whatever the end result people deserve it (unless it doesnt happen to be the end result that we want in which case we will change it.)

    3) If individual results are not to our liking we will disqualify the candidate and anyone who is connected to him from the election.

    4) We will then charge them (maybe) and lock them up.

    5) P.S. if you think you are going to vote in Thaksin again, you must be joking.... you have tried that at least twice and we have made it clear that it is unacceptable. So please stop.

  8. This whole issue is a complete Non-Starter....Of course Abhisit is a British Citizen...He's English in fact...By Birthright,as with any person born on English soil.

There is a very comprehensive Wikipedia on Abhisit..which should clarify any matters.

The real issue is...When will This government stop stalling and hold a Democratic Election...with UN observers..which in any event will see a red landslide victory...The return of Thaxsin....and a huge headache for many farrang who have invested heavilly living full time as ex-pats.

"nd only to all those persons that gave thaxsin the needle.

Glad I have a safe European home to run to as i was last April.

  9. But IN the documents, i've seen, I found for the political position of Councilor (so so and so jo in Thai) is precisely that nominate, candidate HAS to be Thai nationality(no any other).

I didn't look about the PM but it is logical, if Councilor must to be Thai-so more than sure is PM must to be.

Is "(no any other)" your addition?

It says they have to have Thai nationality, but does it say anything about any other nationality?

  10. Seems like another Panic move by the Big Wigs at Thai Airways to improve there sliding reputation....Now around 26 most favoured Airline, rather than a consistant Top 10 position.

They are paying dear for not investing in better planes like the Arab and Indian Airlines.

    Rediculous prices

Poor in flight service by rude staff....many of whom are overweight and frumpy.

Perhaps they need to look how Air Asia do it!

  11. Yes Indeed...well said.

Many have the same sentiments...including myself...a frequent visitor for 10 years....in the past I hasten to add.

Phuket is losing many friends...with it's over pricing.... over building... Greed and Multi Scam mentaility.

Hence many like you and I have abandoned the place.

Of course Any criticisms made..does not go down well with Ex-Pats that have been foolish enough to sink all their assets there...with little or No ability to return.

To think in the late 80's apart from Phuket Town...the rest of the Island was quaint beaches with little or no building.

Now its Concrete Mixer paradise...Thailand surely lost it's Jewell in the Crown.
