  1. Doesn't really sound like you'll be generating the cash flow to justify the expenses of maintaining the business.

Also when you are issued a wp it is for a specific job. Not a general permission to work in Thailand.

    Reasons for going the company/wp route;

As a vehicle to purchase land.

    As a route towards residency.

or you actually have a business/job that generates the cash to justify the rigamarole.

If you are a qualified dive instructor there should be a few dive operations looking to hire.

  2. Long haul I use Eva. Lots of benefits and convenience between Thailand and the US.(@good price)

The flight from bkk to tpe are often on brand a new B-777. The B-747/400 are getting long in the tooth but the eva-deluxe is very comfy for that awful tpe-lax flight. Eva flight attendant are works of art.

Malaysia airlines is a nice choice for going to KL. Nice service and equipment.

  3. You should have real lawyer with experience setting this up for you. To help keep you out of trouble. Just having an accountant doesn't cut it.

I'm not sure what the nature of your business is but to get a wp you need to pay yourself 35000bht a month salary which incurs a 2000baht a month tax.

There are numerous other expenses involved including accounting and auditor fees.

I you can afford it see a lawyer, do. If you cant you probably should rethink the business. Initial business set up and wp application runs about 37000bht through a proper lawyer.

I agree with your landlords. If you declare them as landlords and deduct your rent, there are tax liabilities.

I only know of two lawyers who routinely handle the farang biz setup. They both know what they are doing.

The one in Patong is extremely busy all the time and the one I use in Phuket town is much more access-able.

  4. I almost bought one of these. I couldn't really decide one the engines. Both make sense. The Idsl is very popular. I like them better than the new toyotas.( I dont like the new Vios)

That said I ended up buying a clean 5 year old corolla(for less than half the price of a new city) which has proven to be very solid.

I've subsequently driven the newer Altis and the Honda city and neither feel as solid as the old corolla.

  5. I just rode a friends cbr150. Impressive and serious machine very quick and handles excellent.

I'm very tempted. It's also a real motorcycle with a clutch.

The minus' are not much storage. and the big minus is that it's a little too quick. A rider would need plenty of discipline to avoid getting into trouble by going too fast.

Actually just saying this bike is quick is a serious understatement. It is blindingly fast around town. An inattentive rider will hurt himself on this machine is guaranteed. Riding any motorbike has risk this one has slightly more built in for the unwary.

  6. No I am not celibate. WHy? Because I prefer that my masseus does not have some strange residue on her hands from the genitals of Patongs finest? :D Even as a man going to get a happy ending does the thought not occur him?

Because you intimate the idea that sex is dirty and nasty!

BTW last time I checked thai ladies are familiar with the use of soap and water! In fact thai women are well known for their fastidious cleanliness. Unlike many of their western counterparts. The notion of "dirty sex" lies entirely between your ears and amongst some dirty smelly western skanks

So is there any guys in this thread who have had a wax? Khun Kasi, are you up to the challenge of laying on your back with y our legs spread open and someone spreading hot wax close to your most delicate bits , (Hoping that she has checked to make sure it is not TOO hot) in a very non sexual non erotic way , and then just Ripping all the hair OUT!!! :D OVER AND OVER AGAIN ? :D ANd then getting the strays with some pointy tweezers? Thats what WE women PAY For when we go to the salon. seems so unjust. :D

Please post the PHOTOS if you do try it :D

I tried the bikini waxing once. Like I said it stings a bit. I got over it pretty quick.

I prefer to shave. Personally I like a hairy woman sometimes. :o

  7. WHat does "tsunami oriented final" I certainly dont want some girl giving me an oil massage if she has just given some nasty sex-pat or sex-toursist a happy ending. :D:D:D

    Interesting opinion, are you celibate?

I really dont think the men could handle the "little sting" the comes with having a good thourough (sp?) waxing!!!!!! But appreciate the tips. Bali Hai, It has a yellow sign, right on 200 Pee Road?

My! our mistress princess is full of interesting opinions and generalizations! :o

  8. yeah bali hai is a very descent place, nice front and they have some good looking girls there, but they are also of the tsunami oriented final.

Will try the bikini wax as a bloke. maybe a precutting should be of advise.

Yea like most places they will try you on for a happy finish(girls will be girls!). But it's also a great place for a good strong thai or oil massage(in fact it's the only place I've been were they can actually give a real good swedish oil massage). If you clearly just want a good massage they are quite accommodating for very good massages. They also are one of the few places that caters to couples and women. I spoke with the owner once and he revealed that 40% of his customers are women. He's doing something right!

  9. Wolfie - no worries. can be done with the help of people on this forum. :o

    Kasi - hmmm...im just donna....not god! :D

:D Sorry I know I was just thinking wishfully!

It is some of what I want though.

  10. I want to see jet-skis banned!

I want the morons in charge of public service to address in earnest the water shortage issues.

I want to see any tour bus which belches black smoke cut into scrap metal.

I want to see the young speed crazed motorbike riders grow a brain.(really wishful thinking!)

    That will do for starters!

And maybe mufflers for the harleys and sport bikes.

  11. But i cant imagine they are any better trained at a more expensive place. I like my place cause if I say

More here and less here she listens. Most places though the girls have a routine, not like they are reall feeling around for tense spots.

I will certainly try some of the suggestions!!! I know where most of them are.

Try Bali Hai. They also do the best bikini waxing in Thailand. :o

  12. There is a new little shop near soi sea pearl called Bali Hai. They have the best masseuses in Patong. The have a varied menu unlike the other clip joints which abound. Clean and very friendly and reasonable.

Perhaps even a "difficult" customer like the "mistress" might find what she wants there!

Everyone I know who goes there is very satisfied.

  13. Look here: http://www.yingyongmotorcycle.com/index1.htm# the specs of the different motorbikes. You can see that there are 7 different models of Honda Waves and only one for Dream.

The Waves are not all cheaper than Dreams, I've bought the 125i (fuel injection) and paid 47K with insurance and plate. But I'm satisfied, good bike, good brakes, low fuel consumption and quick enough for Thailand, considering the roads and the "strange" thai driving style.

I had big bikes (VFR750,CBR900,ZZR1100) and I don't feel less secure on my Wave. It's mostly how you drive that will bring the danger.

I've had my eye on that fuel injected model. From all appearances seems like the smartest of them all. I might trade up from my carb model.

  14. Forget Volvos, they break down all the time. Whenever I see a busted car at the side of the road nine times out of ten it's a Volvo.

    What baloney!

Volvo's make great used cars. They are strong and well made. (no more expensive to maintain than a Benz or bmw)

The 700 series have the best seats in the business. In Thailand they don't seem to hold their value

    like the Jap cars.

For 1.2M though I'd be considering the new civic. It's not really such a small car anymore. And less maintenance and fuel than the euro-barges out there.

  15. I own a 125cc wave with a disc brake. It rides fine has enough pep. Buzzy above 90kph. Very pleasant at 40-60kph.

Rode a friends 10 year old 100cc dream for a week and found it very nice around town.

A Thai told me that the Honda Dreams are manufactured and assembled in Japan whereas the Honda Waves are made in Japan but assembled in Thailand and so are cheaper. Is that True?

This seems unlikely as that 6000 isn't a big enough price difference for an import.

  16. Of course, the poor bugger who would've had to pay for the steak would've been the waiter responsible for the table.... the nice one who knew you. How much was it? 200B? How much is he likely to earn in a day? About the same.

I liked the idea of playing them at their own game. You could've ask WHY you had to move before being so 'grumpy.'

I hadn't thought of that perspective. In hindsight I like to have handled it differently. Like just ignoring the idiot waitress.

Now I can't go back to that restaurant for sometime, if ever. I do like their steaks. Oh well live and learn.

  17. It really depends on how you are driving the car. The tires specified for that car are VR rated (sustained speeds of 210+ kph!) If you are consistently using the car like that then keeping pristine unweather-checked tires on it wouldn't be that important. The description of your old tires is simple weather-checking. You could have used them for some time. Most of the roads here don't require a really high end high speed tire.

The yoko avs' are a very nice tire and it's always satisfying to have a fresh set of shoes for a nice car.

What the hey enjoy them! Find some open road and go blow some carbon off the top of your pistons!

I agree if the dealers had those in stock he was probably anxious to get rid of them. And he probably make a few baht selling your old tires as well as they sound as if they were perfectly useable.
