I have a retirement Visa and have been living in the same hotel for years. If it closes what the hell am I meant to do? I have been saying for weeks all these measures are too late and the number of cases and deaths are unfortunately going to rise steadily.
I'm exactly in the same boat as you, not sure if my place will close or not but it's definitely stressful.
I've been checking some apartments/condo's on airbnb and there's some good deals to be had at the moment.
Just an option.

You could contact a reliable agent and have them do it.
You will have to mail your passport/documents to them and of course pay a fee.
That would not work I'm afraid as you would have to present yourself to have your photograph taken.

There's a rumour elsewhere on Thai Visa from the boss of Chaeng Wattana that Immigration will be closing tomorrow, presumably for the duration. Has anybody heard anything at Jomtien Immigration?
They seem to be relocating some services, check out this,............

This makes perfect sense if only Jomtien could do something similar.

So restaurants and shopping centres are exempt, WHY??? I can only presume you can not spread the virus in these croaded places.
Was in Central a few minutes ago it was anything but crowded,in fact it's the emptiest I've ever seen it .

Was on Pattaya Beach Rd about half an hour ago, didn't see many tourists using the deck chairs however there was plenty of people on the beach.
The paragliding people weren't busy at all, I counted no more than 5 in the air at any one time during my walk.

Sensationalist headlines only, Pattaya is anything but deserted, plenty of traffic on the roads if the place was deserted then surely the roads would be empty.
Also the hotel I stay at has normal occupancy for the time of year.

When I renewed my extension last April I asked the question and was told 2 months before and 3 months after.

Not only the high baht, the lack of choice, the Thai hostesses these days want higher prices than the West and want to be in and out as fast as possible doing as little for the money as they can.
All these things taken into account, and there are better value places to go now on the radar such as Vietnam and Cambodia. Many on here used to scoff at that but now it has become a reality. Vietnam has well and truly got its act together and Cambodia for all its warts, is better bang for your buck than Thailand in terms of entertainment areas, food, hotels and drink and cigarettes etc
It was always Western tourists that spent in the bars and restaurants and go go places, never the Chinese or Indians or other nationalities.
Prayut and co are trying to make people believe Pattaya is something that it most certainly is not.......a high classy resort!
Yes it has the shopping malls and designer shops, but it has filthy streets and beaches, a dangerous city to walk into the wrong area, motorcycle street gangs, groups of thieving ladyboys, armed teenagers and a police force that resembles the Keystone cops!
Hey no insulting the Keystone cops now.

There was a double entry tourist visa many moons ago.
In fact there was even a triple entry tourist visa , I myself used this many times back in the 90's, £8 per entry if I'm not mistaken back then.

I'm in a similar predicament soon for my extension of stay. I tend to travel around in hotels at the moment until I decide where I want to stay longer term. How do I satisfy my application?
Sent from my iPad using Thaivisa ConnectJust use the receipt from your hotel, I've been living in a hotel for years and thats what I do.

I've just returned from the UK after 2 months (21st) and went down to Immigration yesterday .
I've lived here in a hotel since the late 90's and never once submitted a TM30.
I went in with the paperwork already prepared and asked the girl in the office what the situation was before I presented it .
The answer was that it was required and once you have submitted a TM30 you don't have to do it again unless of course you change address, however you still need to report to that particular office after being away and submit the usual passport copies.
The receipt was stamped, signed and stapled into my passport.
The girl was friendly and very helpful and everything went okay.
I have read many conflicting reports on this forum regarding whether or not this needs to be done so for me personally I thought it's better safe than sorry.

I am completely baffled by what I need to do regarding my situation. Currently I'm in the UK and plan to return to Pattaya in a couple of weeks having been out the country for approx 2 months.
I'm on a retirement visa and live in a hotel where I've resided for a number of years,I pay every 3 months so I come and go as I please so most times the staff don't even know if I've been away or not.
This leads to the question how can they report to Immigration my comings and goings if they don't know exactly when I'm there and when I'm not, presumably they must have submitted a TM 30 at some time.
Anyway I've never personally submitted a TM30 and never been asked to do so when I renewed my retirement extension last April and all 90 day reports I've done.
Does anybody know if or not I should report to Immigration when I return to notify them that I've returned?

It depends where you are in Thailand, I've lived in Pattaya, Phuket and Chiang Rai and visited countless other places here.
I find the locals a lot more friendly in rural Thailand than in the tourist centres.

The white mini buses are ok, they're air conditioned and if my memory serves well they were 40 Baht from Pattaya to Sri Ratcha but that was two years back when I last used them.

I had an hernia operation 3 months ago at Phyathai Hospital in Sri Racha, this was open surgery for an inguinal hernia and the total cost including pre op tests were less than 80.000 Baht with a 1 night stay included.
Laparascopic surgery is more expensive, maybe twice what I paid for open surgery but nowhere near 500,000 Baht.
-
I need an Hernai operation sooner rather than later as it's now beginning to get painful when I walk.
It's in my groin area (Inguinal Hernia) so anybody out there had the op done here if so where and how much were the costs?
Any recommendations based on experience would be welcome,I'm based in Pattaya.

Just been prescribed Harnal Ocas (0.4mg) tablets and also Vesicare 5mg (Solifenacin) tablets by Bangkok Pattaya Hospital.
No complaints about the service but the cost of the Meds from there is a bit steep.
Anyone know if these are available from local Pattaya pharmacies and roughly at what cost?

Price depends where you go for your shots,I got bitten a few weeks ago and needed a course of 4 injections over a 30 day period.
Three injections I had at the new Pattaya City Hospital on Soi Buakhoa,I was up country in Buriram for the other injection.
The three injections in Pattaya cost around 460 Baht each including nurses fee and the single injection which I had at a government hospital in Buriram cost a total of 20 Baht.
