  1. FYI. Friend just rented a 2010 250R from Pattayaland Soi 2 for 400thb per day, no insurance and only needed a copy of passport. Phone number in photo, on bikes rear end. Seems many Ninjas available for rent in the area around beach road.

Rentals are an excellent learning tool for swapping/borrowing/exchanging/testing/replacing parts. Knowledge = Power.

  2. Get you gf Thai citizenship first. Heard before; that typically it is easy to sort this out with amphur office before a person turns age 16. After that it becomes more difficult and complicated by bureaucracy. Judge, to gain Thai citizenship, person must prove that both she and one of her parents were born in Thailand. Lack of documentation in remote areas and or villages makes this constraint a complex difficulty. Person needs to prove that one of her parents was born in Thailand, sometimes must also prove that one of her grandparents was born in Thailand. Keep trying with the amphur hall of her parents. Persistence pays off. Good luck.

  3. Deem if you are a falung, involved in a minor, insignificant, petty traffic scratch with a Thai, and certain for sure it is not your fault; take off promptly, act dumb.

    Dodge them cheats.

Great idea, and get hammered by the police and victims when someone notes your number.

Victim or Dupe? Ice cube says #&@k the police.

Nevertheless, been driving legally in Thailand (cars, trucks, motorbikes) for almost a decade without having any road accident (knock on wood). Exceptions being crashes on race circuits and off road smashes in professionally controlled test situations. At any rate, have witnessed more than a few minor road accidents where falung was not at fault, but Thai police insisted falung in the wrong because; a] you have car and he has motorbike, you must have a lot more money than him; b] you are falung he is Thai, you must have lots of money to toss around.; c] if you had not been here , the accident would not have happened. ??? Give me a break. If its a slight, minor, petty, insignificant bump (no blood, no dents, no broken glass). Run run run.

  4. Pick-up-Truck Canopies:

Positive note: :D Srithepthai, Aeroflex and Vandapac are three decent pick-up truck canopy manufactures here in Thailand, many standard styles to choose from in fiberglass and also ASA & ABS.

Negative note: :) Should not mention? , o-well, Carryboy & CityBoy , probably the cheapest price though the shoddiest quality.

  5. 45k seems reasonable prices as long as you get a Chanote in her name free and clear. She has to state money is hers with no falung money tied too purchase. Imagine this is true love. Rice typically generates two crops per year, if you have water access in dry season. One rai produces approx 900kg or 2,000lbs per picking. After labor and or machinery costs, 10 rai in NE area should generate about 70,000 thb per crop (7,000thb is going rate in Korat for about a ton of rice), based on past seasons rice prices (un-shooked, un-processed rice price was 8thb/1kg). Good luck getting percent or portion of this. Anyway, her having falung name does not matter, she and you the falung husband will be asked to sign a document stating money used to purchase land was from her with no foreign ownership claim to it. Basically your love will own it, and you have no claim to this land whatsoever. Good luck farmer Brian.

  6. Siam Motor Home Co Ltd Thailand a joint ventureship with Vantech Japan build the Terra and Vega campers you see around Thailand. Visited factor back in Ampur Muang Chonburi province back in 2007, (K. Somsak was GM); back then focus was on Terra project, basically modifying Toyota Vigo trucks into campers, mostly for export, some small volume local Thai market. They had many different truck modification development projects going on, mobile offices, ambulance, a few different size mobile home type projects. Believe the Terra was selling for about 3mil thb. Uploaded some pics brochures from way back.

  7. Belated vdo of supercars coming down beach road into a hairpin turn by paddocks, also some drifting.

My thought were the 3.8 km Bangsean beach street circuit appeared to be solid with well paved roads and safety walls plentiful, many beautiful ladies strutting about town. Intermittent crashes inside race course, though that’s racing, reason many people go watch motorsports. Over 5 days 25-29Nov2009 enjoyed a great variety races, would recommend going next year to all. Bangsaen Supercars Thailand proved to me and my gang an exciting, fun, safe and sound race outing for all Thai & falung race fanatics. :) Peace and NO WORRIES!!!

  8. Dave,

The difference in fuel tank capacity is likely because a new fuel-pump....

Interesting; does it solve the issue where there is remaining fuel and yet the light is shining as if it were empty? Because if it does it may be worth getting a new one....that problem really bothers me.

That doesn't sound like an issue to me, but rather a helpful warning to stop for fuel before you have to get off and push.

Why not just lower the height of the sensor...if possible

Doable to adjust fuel level sensor to your custom low level light on liking.

  9. Good times again in Bangsaen! Still recovering from 5 days of partying around BangSaen Beach. Awesome racing events! Also carousing about Time Attach this weekend at Bira. In any case, over many whoop it up nights, and hangovers, did snap some photos; uploaded a week late, no worries.

With the Bike events always beautiful babes about. :) Enjoy Life!
