I rent, and have been in this room for 6 years without any problems. Yes I could move upstairs, but it is a daunting task to move everything I have, (deep fryer, kettle, table and chairs, microwave, cooker, kitchen cabinet, etc), and there is no lift, and I am a little frail to carry shopping up flights of stairs.

The ground floor suits me well.

Cheaper to hire someone to help you move than buy a gate. And the daily walk up a flight of stairs to your new room may help with your fitness.

Just looks at the stats if you really wanna know, it’s something like 75% of all road deaths are on motorbikes.

I see you know nothing about statistics. Maybe 75% of all road deaths in Thailand are on scooters. You don't say what percentage of miles driven are on scooters and what percentage is in cars. Your assessment is therefore useless.

Instead you should have walked the other way. Just past Soi 1 BeachRd. Jomtien, you see a newish red Building. Ground floor has a Gym with Aircon. Its not freezing cold and its not too expensive, you even get free cold water (but bring your own bottle).

Btw. does Tonys still sell lifetime Memberships for 6k baht, or was it 10K? Anyway, In that case the mentioned Gym may be too expensive for you. I do not want that you can't afford the aircon in your shoebox and then it will be as hot in your shoebox as the shoebox of the other Gents you complain about.

No. Please don't send him to that one. I use it.

I was fascinated by the beeping of the horns all the time

I was once in Cebu and decided to leave the hotel at 3am walk down to the main road which wasn't busy at 3am.....AND just as I thought ...only a few cars around ....and ...they are still beeping !

It's the jeepneys beeping to see if you want a ride. If you weren't out there walking on the road they wouldn't be beeping.

  5. 11 million baht is reasonable for the Mercedes repair if you consider that they will need to hire a private jet to fly the parts from Germany.

I read a while back that Mercedes was going to lock the hood on their cars so only the Mercedes licensed service locations could open it. F'ing crooks. I'll take a Lexus anytime over one of those.

Oh gawd, you are behind the times again. The ceasefire that Hamas accepted was a new one that was drawn up by Qatar and Egypt only. Of course Israel rejected it, it was a full surrender and still no hostages back for months!

Hardly a full surrender. It left Hamas in control of Gaza. Hamas must be destroyed. Palestinians must be protected.

A friend renewed his Italian passport. From what I understand, Italy is the most expensive country when it comes to renewing/issuing a passport: 116 euros. In my opinion, these are absurd prices.

Stop whining. Canada passport renewal is $160 CDN, about the same cost.

  8. Increase the limit on your credit card. Then it really doesn't matter if it takes an extra week to get the refund as you've got the “room“ on the card for other purchases. And if you're concerned that the charge will be there when you get your monthly statement, it's irrelevant as the refund will be there before your payment is due.
