Suzuki to close Rayong plant.
Neat little cars. Had a Caribbean for 15 years, bought it second hand from Budget. Very little maintenance needed and went everywhere on the island in it. Paid 120k for it and sold it for 60k Also had the saloon version for wifey - forgot the name. Finally gave up cars and stayed with the bike - quicker in the crazy traffic.

So many things wrong with this sad event. RIP to the lad and I hope that the other victims recover OK - including the driver of the car. She will probably remember this accident for the rest of her life.

Something New In CNX
Most Thais do not eat beef. Reminds them of the pet buffalo at home - akin to us eating dogs. Also, pork and chicken are much cheaper. None of the Thais that I know here on the island eat beef, and it is only in latter years that the Thai supermarkets have started selling it. 20+ years ago, we could not find beef anywhere on the island. I would buy it when I did a major shop up in Bangkok.

Central Group, Thai banks initiate tourist QR payments
Thailand people are the most scammed in the region (according to an article here a while ago). The vast majority of scams are on people that use mobile banking apps. Still no apps on my phone. (Battery lasts a week before it needs charging - another bonus. )

Central Group, Thai banks initiate tourist QR payments
And there was me thinking that the high tourist traffic came from Europe, China, Russia and India. Duh.

High hopes: Anutin’s green light for cannabis bill in Thailand
Anutin failed to provide a clear policy last time he passed his one and only triumph. Little chance of things being sorted properly when he keeps on flip flopping, as is his want. Next decriminalise Yabba?

Precautions after Cataract surgery
I had lens replacement in both eyes last year. I was told not to swim for a couple of months and make sure no water in the eyes whilst showering or washing for two weeks. (Wear swimming goggles in the shower.) That was it. Usual regime of loads of eye drops during the day and because I had the tri-focal lenses fitted, I wore anti glare glasses for about a month.

Any survivors?
I have two of the deadly chronic diseases. The 'you will die if you get Covid' ones. Had the three latest vaccines during the plague. Also had Covid twice (felt crappie for 3-4 days). Unfortunately, I am still here.

Thailand Seeks Egypt and Israel's Assistance to Free Thai Hostages
Sorry Thailand, but Egypt has no interest in the war between Israel and Palestinian Hamas stopping. Egypt hate people from both sides. That is why they do not allow Palestinian refugees. If the remaining hostages were to be released, and there were no more hostages in Gaza, Israel would stop the attacks. Egypt (and other Arab countries) do not want it to stop. (From the Washington post)

Digital Wallet Scheme to Boost Thai Economy by "Whirlwinds"
What a load of waffle. This PR company should be prosecuted for 'fake news'. I am surprised that they are not saying that it will also cure cancer.

Hot-Tempered Neighbour Slaps Teenager For Unfriending Him On Facebook
Not sure where I read it, but the the person who slapped the lass as well as her sister on previous occasions is a 40 ish year old male neighbour. Reporting details are flaky at the best of times.

Chinese woman arrested over illegal passport ad in Thailand
Difficult to follow, but it would appear that the adverts per se are not illegal. She has broken the labour law by not having a WP. The building owner has broken the planning laws by not having a permit for the advert billboard. As for the selling of the passport services -

Second Chinese-Language Billboard Ad Emerges In Thailand
Just wait a while and Anutin will 'decriminalise ' all of this and say that Thailand can tax the process to generate revenue. Passport tax? Make the passport sellers get a licence and collect money from licences Thailand - the new hub for criminals to get other passports.
