  1. If someone referred to a book shop as "Bookashop", well, maybe I watch too much television but I can surely guess it is not "Asia Bookshops" 2 + 2 is easy and by the way, the people in this branch, if I am correct on which it is, are very good people, I would be surprised if this was true

  2. ok, the old Junta always said, Thailand has its own brand of democracy, but TRT won hugely the first tim, just as huge the second time, Taksin called for new elections early and won, then the coup, 15 months if idiotic management, and then TRT won again (ok, dif name), Thai's want TRT by majority, that is democracy in my book, and all allegations have not been close to proven but the land acquisition by Khuying Pojaman was kinda dumb and blatant

  3. Whenever he's here in the states he always spends time with his pal President at the ranch in Crawford Texas.

    "Birds of a feather..." :o

Does he really? Even after the coup? That surprises me a little as that would be undiplomatic.

Pepe, that is nonsense. Please provide dates when Thaksin has been at the ranch in Crawford, Texas.

I have never seen he was there

  4. hey friend, I hate having a maid in my house all the time, ought the wife and now have maid in twice a week for about 5-6 hours, clean and pressed clothes and clen floors, we can do dishes, maybe could have her do more dusting and stuff but I enjoy my privacy, no odd person wandering around my house all the day

  5. ok, not the best, but surely not the best response in TV history, bur from what I know, no vote, no chance of running for a position. Being American, I kinda think that requiring on to vote is wrong, but on th other hand, in a new, developing democracy, it makes people think, which in my country many people do not

  6. saw the old man on some bullshit news shit about 3 weeks ago and he threw the bitches for a loop when he started speaking english while sprinkling it wih some thai.. the girl were visibly shaken, was so cool, i am sure it doesnt exist now, but the old gf took hr

    I saw that, was hilarious

  7. I didn’t, and for the past 21 yrs no one has bothered to come after me to do it. Except I had to show the US marriage certificate if I want to do the surname change on the i.d, but I didn’t bother with the surname change anyway, and the officer at the ampur seemed not care either.

    I’m - dual thai/US, hubby - american

    you have thai passport?

  8. Sorry, this is way off topic, but Jingthing is American and saying bad things about his country on an International forum, a shame..........mods delete at will, but a fair question

  9. Went to Platinum today as I was going tp Pantip anyway. Found two shops right off the bat that carried jackets (B2,000-3,000), long underwear (B250), gloves (B250)and some hats and scarves. Prices are approx.

    1. Cool,2nd floor,Soi Oxford 6, room 473 (3% added when using credit card

    2. Phing Phing 2nd floor, Soi Oxford 5, room 404 (Credit Card ok when buying over B3,000)

Probably plenty more but others would probably have the same stuff at same prices and I hate shopping

  10. I am in a similar dilemma as I am off to Russia for a work assignment, particularly looking for thermal underwear.

Good jackets (North Face etc) can be found at MBK, 5th floor, soi 6, the stall is called something similar to F. Shop. The jackets are probably factory rejects but looked pretty good to me at B2,500. At a North Face shop they go for B15,000 - 17,000.

These are also available on ground floor of J City on Silom next to BTS

Thermals are probably available in Pratunam but gotta go searching.

  11. Patpong was named after old mr Patpong, A real cute and nice guy.

Hmm so.....Khun Cowboy must have been another soi owner then--- :o

There is a Patpong family, and Soi Cowboy was named after the first bar owner there, a black guy well known as Cwboy

  12. Best burrito ever was at the original Green Burrito in La Puente in Calif., no, not the chain, long before that, they would fry beef, stringy yet tender, with with not too spicy poces of big green shilis, mix with copious amount of cheese, It as in an area were I grew up but after I moved away would drive an hour or more to buy a few to get me thru the week.....................getting extra cheese at Sunrise, wow, they make me feel like a criminal
