  1. Same same... after 16 years, non immigrant just a guest. No motivation to learn... hardly know more than 5 words in Thai ????
  2. I opened EZ account with my yellow book and pink id recently so I m very suprised hearing you were not successful. Yes you can request a statement via email pllus the email you one evert month if you have successfully verified your email through the app. Hope this helps
  3. I also have a commonwealth bank credit card with a very high limit which I will only use once every few years , since living here in Thailand since 2006. They also have assured me that if I continue to pay the yearly fee my card and limit will remain active. For the last two years they even waived the annual fee ($349) after I rang them up and informed them about financial hardship during covid .... Been with them since July 1992, and that long time relationship record helps. They used to be able to send my credit card to Thailand without a fee but that stopped 5 years ago. Now days it's $20 (express post fee) for the commonwealth bank to send.
  4. My experience... I have a KTC Thai credit cards (3) since 2011. About a month ago the bank rang, late on a Friday night, and informed me that my wife's credit card (second card holder under me) has been compromised and they spoke to visa international and the card needs to be cancel immediately!! I immediately hang up thinking it was a scam call and I rang back KTC myself to find out if it was really them or not. KTB Call center confirmed the story and they strongly suggested that the card needs to be cancelled asap. So I got them the cancel the card and a replacement card arrived in few days. Apparently someone in Europe tried or was going to try using it. I'm very very careful with using my KTC and Krungsri credit cards here in Thailand, as if something goes wrong I won't have the same rights fighting with the bank as if I would have back home with the commonwealth bank of Australia. Both KTC and Krungsri apps notifications are on and an otp is required for any transactions over 1 Baht. better safe than sorry ????
  5. My experience at the dlt Chatuchak. December 2020. I was able to extend my third 5 years driving driving by presenting my yellow book and pink id and switching the ID number on the driving licence from the passport number to the pink 13 digit ID. As you mentioned,, about the staff telling that Indian guy to go to this amphur, the trick is that you need to go to your local amphur first, where your yellow book was issued in my case, and get a copy of the record from them (20baht) stating that this passport holder is the same person holding this pink id as the name on the pink ID only appears in thai and thus dlt can't confirm on their own that is the same person!! Once I had that paper everything else went smooth I was in and out within an hour. Reminding you that at that time, December 2020,due to covid restrictions the video was not long and they were pretty quick doing all those 'silly' color etc tests ???? Finally I was told that I need to present the same pink ID in five years time in order to be able to renew if for another 5 years. If present passport I will need to start all over again ???? Amazing Thailand ????????
  6. Did you open the account using passport or pink id? Were you given the chance to provide your tax id at the opening of the account? Thanks
  7. Quick update I went to my local scb branch here in Bkk and double check with threm that my account opened only with my pink id has the same number as the tax id. They could not show me on the screen where the tax id field is and what's written on it. They promised though that no tax will be withheld as long as I don't go over the first 20,000thb tax free threshold. I thank them for their time and said hopefully won't see you on December 25th(interest Payday) Let's see
  8. As previously I mentioned all of my 3 bank accounts with krungsri ktb and scb were opened using the pink id. Same as you, krungsri asked for thr tax id that I had linked to my passport issued way back in 2008. KTB never asked so I assumed they used the tax id link to the pink id which is the same number. SCB same as KTB, but I won't know until December 25 this year is any tax will be withheld Amazing Thailand ????????????
  9. No... the 11 digit number under the picture is the first 4 digit is the amphur number following by the 7 digit number of issued pink ids.... In my case the number is 0000013. Basically I was the 13th person issued with one in my amphur ????
  10. Yes all of my 3 accounts with krungsri ktb and now scb were opened using my pink id card. Krungsri no tax withheld KTB no tax withheld SCB EZ Savings just opened it end of June 2022,so I will need to wait until December 25th to see if they do deduct. Only once during the pandemic, June 2020, krungsri deducted tax apparently my old tax id was 10"digit and invalid thus I had to make a trip to revenue department to get a new one, 13 digit and then I informed the bank. To summarise, KTB using my pink id tax number SCB same Krungsri using my tax id that is linked to my passport number from (2008) When I visited the revenue department that June 2020, I was told that I got 2 different tax id numbers, one from the passport and one from the pink id ????????and eventually they need to be merged, but they said do it whenever you need to come back to us to claim anything. So far I didn't have to so I guess I will leave it as it is. This is Thailand , this will never happen in Australia ????????
  11. She would have ran away long time ago if she wanted to. I ve been very luck as her parents live in Australia and I never had to look after a sick buffalo etc. House, car in Thailand it's in her name, cash in bank accounts are spreaded evenly between us. Everything else bsck in Australia is in my name, the only thing that is in her name bsck in Australia it's her superannuation account with balance that she can't touch until 60! Btw I'm 47 she is 49..together since 2001... Now if immigration issues me with something more than just a yearly Non-O Extension Thai Wife......, something more permanent.. something like my home country would've given to a Thai married to an Aussie... i know i m dreaming ;-(
  12. No KTB does not provide a special rate for foreigners. I was talking about Her account. Why 999,999 ? Cause over the 1 million the interest rate drops drastically. Do you trust your wife with all your money? Yes I do, been together since 2001. Besides that all of our investments back on Australia are in my name. So it's fair to keep the money in hers plus spreading the money out helps us of not going over the first 20,000thb interest without tax held. ????
  13. I also have that but I was taking abou the Krungsi Mee Tae Dai e-savings account only available for Thai citizens ????
  14. you meant to type 100,000 THB... regarding the first 100,000...i know that, i keep it at 99,999 THB and since she gets the interest paid at the end of each month i always take it out ,at the end of each month, and send it to her Krungsi Mee Tae Dai savings account. Didnt know about the Krungsri trick but i worked it out. Both SCB and KTB accounts of hers are kept at 999,999 THB just to avoid going over ????
  15. Ok, but I had both the branch and the call Centre staff double checking my case and I was told that NO tax will be deducted from my account. I opened the account with only my Pink ID and the yellow book, no passport was shown, so they used my Pink ID number as the tax ID. Did u use yr tax ID linked to yr passport for your SCB account? Hopefully it will work out , lets see at tax pay day its December 25th apparently with this bank as opposed to KTB (31 December) and Krungsri (end of each month) ????
  16. After I being here for so long, since 2006, u get to know things Also having a dual citizen wife helps with discovering things easily ???????? It's all about finding out things you are entitled to have!!
  17. It's 1.50% on the Krungsi Mee Tae Dai e-savings account not 1.3.(wife has it as a Thai citizen, not available for me eventhough I rang them many times and complained that a bank in Australia wouldn't discriminate like this. 1.5% is less than the 2.1% percent AMP in Australia pays on a savings account.????
  18. Oh really at DLT? After having a Thai licensee since 2008 last time when i renewed (December 2020) it at Mochit DLT i was able to use the yellow book and the Pink ID and change the number on it from the passport number to the 13 digit pink id . The trick is that you need to go the Amphur that issued yr yellow book/ID and have them confirm it in witting (by giving u a copy of their records) that this person holding a particular passport is the same person as in the yellow book / pink id. That is because yr name on the Pink ID its only in Thai writing and DLT cant confirm that its the same person. I knew that requirement so I went and got it from the Amphur (20 baht) and i had no issues at DLT. Finally, I was told that I need to use the same Pink ID next time renewing, going back to a passport number is not an option only if starting from scratch again. Hope this helps, ????
  19. I can do anything with the bank accounts online/at the branch using my Pink ID card since it was used to open up the accounts. The number on the Pink ID card wont change unlike my passport number thus no updating is needed. I was issued the yellow book and Pink ID card long time ago it has definitely paid me back the effort made. Now if immigration issues me with more than just a yearly Non-O Extension Thai Wife......, something more permanent ....i know i m dreaming ;-(
  20. No I don't. I used my pink ID and yellow book to open it. In coordination with the call center explaining the rules, that a work permit is NOT needed ,to the branch I was able to open it. (Bangkok area 30th June 2022) I threated them that my wife wont open one if they don't successfully open one for me. Walked out with one account each , 1.5% interest rate and made sure that no withholding 15% tax to be taken out by filling out the correct paperwork. I opened all of my accounts with Krungsri, KTB and now SCB using my pink ID and yellow book. Before when i used to work, I opened all of my credit cards with Krungsri, KTB using my passport and work permit. I am long time resident of Bangkok since 2006 ????
  21. Good afternoon, Would I be able to use my newly opened SCB EZ Savings account for my upcoming Non-O Extension Thai Wife (6th extension)? Has anyone successfully used one of this Account (E Passbook)? In the past I used krungsri / ktb savings account that had a physical paper bankbook unlike this SCB. Would Immigration @ Changwattana accept it? or is taking a risk? Thank you
  22. I could've taken you if you asked Me. Glad I helped you got the experience and the pics Would like to have a look at your pics to compare to mine. ????
  23. Same same. It is possible to have a credit card I've got a credit card from KTC signature since 2012 and a Manchester United krungsri Platinum Credit card since 2016. Both cards have limits which are 5 x my salary which is the maximum amount as a foreign allowed. Every few years when my salary increases I submit my new payslip and then the bank adjusts my credit card limit to the 5x. Never had to pay any fees when use, no annual fees and the most important I pay the full amount due every month. Both cards minimum salary of 50,000 thb per month. With the krungsri Manchester United Platinum credit card you get extra rewards, cash back, triple points etc so it's been a win win situation for me. And yes I still have my commonwealth bank of Australia Platinum credit card (with annual fee) that I hardly use, but the limit it's too good to give it up.
  24. Yes it does since last year, We tried it when it was free but not anymore... We tried it all the way from Bangsue to Rangsit (end) https://www.don-mueang-airport.com/train.php
