  1. Tomato season has ended here up north.

2 , 3 months ago , the 5 kg bags at the market as low as 40 B ! ( 8 B/kg , 30 B /5 kg for the small tomatoes = 6B/kg) , not the best quality, but good for cooking, now around 100 B or more (= 20 B/kg). Supermarket always more expensive. The nice big imported ones : as expensive as back home in europe , only there they taste & smell better.

Nice big garlic doubled in price in the last year or so , why ? Chinese speculators :

The small Thai garlic s-cks. I'm not spending an hour a day peeling them and taste is average.

  2. "To us westerners it is crazy and the danger is obvious."

Speak for yourself Bangkok Barry. I'm a westerner and I don't think it's crazy nor dangerous . In many countries people ride on roofs of cars , busses & trains. It's great for the Thai that their country hasn't become a nanny state ( yet) , and they can be transported however they want.

Thailand is still the land of the free ( well more or less...).

  3. Had mine for over 20 years , at first drove me mad ,but know ive got used to it, because I realised

my problem is nothing but a noise compared with other persons major problems .

To help there are plenty of google play apps just search " tinnitus " . just find the one that suites you .

But i am afraid you wont get rid of it ,only control your mind to except it .

Yep , mine started 25 years ago.... you learn to live with it. Thailand is great for it ....24/7 there is a noise from fans or aircon which masks it. I play my music loud so at least then I don't hear it.

    Real tinnitus can't be cured.

  4. Last time , I flew Jetairways and had 30 kg of bagage allowance , so I brought back over 20 kg of food & snacks.

Spaggetti ! Why pay 3 x as much as back home ?

Real good & cheap potato chips & cornflakes. Mayonaise , jam , peanuts ( much better & cheaper back home) .

Of course CHEESE ( 3 or 4 different ones) !!! Choco, instant soups , curry, mostard.

Spare computerparts . Medicines . Razorblades.

  5. Going north on Suk. from Pattaya Tai there is a 3 shop house wide place that sells batteries and does Air service. They charge me 400 baht when ever I need to refill which I do about 3 times a year. Its about 5 shophouses before the Honda bigwing shop.

    Hey , wait a minute here...you need a refill 3 times a year ? Have you got a leak ?

  6. The EU completely f up Spain and other club med countries. It used to be much cheaper in Spain and lower taxes.

The spain of 20 - 30 years ago was much better to retire and buy a house . No reporting of a second home to your country.

With all those unemployed and a lot of african immigrants , crime is certainly worse than Thailand.

Even under the junta here , Thailand is a much free-er and more relaxed country. The "manjana" attitude is different from the "mai pen rai " in Thailand.

Then if you keep your money in a Spanish bank , the riscs of bail ins , is big. Just ask the Brits on Cyprus how much fun that is.

And Spain is becoming a fascist state :

Again , if Spain was like 20-30 years ago , I would not be in Thailand!
