  1. At Isuzu , they told me never to use B5 , so now B7 crap ? Just now that diesel (should be 50 % ) is cheaper?

Great , then another 1400 B to change that valve again , well 5-6 years ago , so now with inflation + higher wages 2000 B ?

Maybe the special expensive Shell diesel will stay the same ?

Palmoil is crap , not just for food but for older cars too.

Your tinfoil hat is on crooked......

We're getting way off topic ! It was about thailand boosting ties with russia & china.

btw , it's not tinfoil , I have a silver helmet with lead coating for extra ray absorption and a graphite inner coating.

  3. A solution against vote buying would be : referendums about all major decisions.

Buying votes for 500 B , every couple of years is easy , buying them every couple of months , would drain the politicians finances. Not very practical in a country like Thailand , logisticly and a population of clueless & smartphone addicts.

Doing it via the internet , impossible due to hacking from within and of course from outside "3 letter agencies"....

    Back to the drawing board.

Is this the Keynes you mean?

Keynesian economics . Don't ask me , ask Bernanke , Yellen , Draghi and every central bank , socialist money printing <deleted>.

  6. I always marvel at the various comments that continue the tirade against the US, and the 'loss' of Thailand as a strategic ally. Trouble is Thailand was once upon a time one of those 'useful' regimes in the region, when we were all obsessed with those falling dominos. The US, as do most countries, turn a blind eye to problems in useful regimes, but as that usefulness fades, as Thailand's has, they have no qualms saying what think or about whoever or the Bangkok Glitterati decide to cozy up to. The US paradoxically even sees Vietnam as more strategic in the region, and as strange bedfellows go, the Vietnamese see common cause against the hegemony of China in South China Sea. The Vietnamese military is also highly regarded as a fighting force, unlike the Thai military, which is for most US military is a tad too 'inwardly focused' so to speak.

So Prayuth, or whoever may succeed him, can huff, puff, cozy up to the Chinese, but just about the only people who care are themselves and some of the erstwhile commentators on TVF

The Viets like the ruskies more...

Who can blame them ? It has been 40 years after the mass murders, but hey ask the Greeks what they think of the germans after 70 years.

  7. The Ruskies (as some other oil producing countries) made a mistake to make there economy/budget too dependend on their vast oil and gas export & reserves. Now that the oil price was manipulated 50 % lower, it hurts.

I have not heard anything about 50 % cheaper gas for europe , and folks at home are not paying less this winter to heat their homes.

This is very temporary , everyday more people will need more oil. The oversupply and overflowing storages will fade away.

Do you see the thai driving less? An economic slowdown of a few % , is halving the oil price ?? BS.

The stupid sanctions are a drag too , but they are working their way around it.

Like I said before , ask the chinese for a pipeline to thailand when the Russian - China pipeline is on line, so Thailand is not so dependend on Myanmar gas.

Deeply dissapointed that the greeks didn't end the sanctions.

  8. squandering 500,000 (16k usd) on an elite card is pretty idiotic when you could take a short trip for another visa. even a millionaire with their head screwed on would not be up for it. also, in that bracket your going to enjoy trips anyhow whether it be to visit family, holiday or whatever.

i dont get the whole elite card thing.

A millionaire would not choose to live in thailand !

  9. Let's hope the economy doesn't improve then.

Why more tax ? Last time oil was this cheap (2009) , we payed 22 B/l diesel , now it is 27 B ? Who is pocketing this money?

    I remember paying 12 Baht/Litre way back in 2001 smile.png

Sure , but how low was the oil price in 2001 ? Just after I bought my car in 2007 , I bought diesel in chonburi at 18,5 B/l (still have a photo of it somewhere on HDD).

I remember filling my rented Honda motorbike in Phuket in '97 @ 12 B/l for 95 oct gasoline , you know ...when gasoline was still gasoline , not the mixed crap they sell now.

  10. well, lets say, gladly, he did not target other people before he took his own life

next farang visitor will have to sign a waiver : I WILL NOT KILL MESELF , sign here

10 years ago , I was at a Phuket shooting range. The guy from the range was standing 2 meter beside me.

It takes only a second to put the gun in your mouth and pull the trigger. A waiver , would not help much.

Quick , easy and efficient way to go , if you have the balls for it.

I would be more concerned about it only taking a few seconds for him to turn the gun in my direction and pulling the trigger.

Why would a person going to a shooting range to end his life , shoot at a stranger who happens to be there? Doesn't make sense.

If he has a gun OUTSIDE of the shooting range , he could make his ending more useful by taking out a banker or polititian, lawyer,...
