  1. May I ask what you mean by "legitimize my daughter" ?

I have two daughters, and am divorced (with a thai lady).

I am on the birth certificate of both, and both of them have Thai and

my countries passports (and have traveled with me oversees several

    times).

Do I need to do anything more ?

    Thanks,

Be careful with particle board. With this humidity, it tends to fall apart quickly.

Not necessarily. If properly treated, it will last "forever" ;*)

If not treated and left in a wet and humid environment, than of course it will fall apart.

Some parts of my kitchen is made out of MDF and I have not had any issues with it.

I am more concerned about Termites than it falling apart because of moisture.

^^^ Because he decorated his own vehicle himself - after asking permission maybe - but he was not provided with the vehicle and thus it is not an official one.

You know for a fact that he decorated it all him self ?

Without any department help ? Really ?

Well, more power to him !

Why would anyone envy a tool that pretends to be a policema, and decorates his own car?

Let me guess, you do the same...

No I would never do something like this either. I just think jumping on somebody because of his

personal choices like this is pathetic .... don't people here have nothing better to do ?

Most probably don't even own a car ...

Why is everybody on this guys back ? Are you jealous ?

Whats the issue with a farang volunteer with an official vehicle ?

Surely he too has to play by the rules. Unless he did pull you

over all alone and play a big shit, why is everybody jumping on him ???

    luudee

To each his own, but if you put yourself out there like that for ridicule, you'll most likely get what you deserve...

I think you are exaggerating a bit ! How is he putting him self "for ridicule" ?

So he takes his job serious, and is trying to do the best of it ... I take my job

    serious as well ...

As long as he has not stepped out of the line and did something illegal/unlawful,

I can not understand all this fuss ...

Yeah you're right, I also don't understand the envy.

In earlier life I was also a policeman.............and a doctor and a firefighter.

But I grew over all this at the age of 10.

Doesn't really look like you did grow up ...

Envy seems to get the better part of you ....

I know several Thai Cops, and they all provide their own bikes ...

So whats the big deal ??? Envy !!!

The have nots drool after the guy who made it !

So it's his personal car that he got the official marks on !

    Big deal !

  10. Being a crazy and diversified place Pattaya is, I think it is easy to make "acquaintances".

Whether those acquaintances become real friends I trust, only time will tell. I wouldn't

trust or do business with an acquaintances just like I wouldn't with a stranger. Once I

have know somebody for some time, may be many years, only than can I say if that

person has become a real friend or is still just an acquaintance.

I don't think it is to different in other countries/places, except perhaps the time period

when an acquaintance is considered a friend.

  11. I am on post paid with AIS and have had this problem for years. I'll go to e-services,

cancel all spam (sms), 3 months later it is all back on ...

It's become a maintenance routine ... I tried to complain, nothing ever happens ....

tit, they do not understand what (and don't care about) customer satisfaction and/or

    "good service" ...

Ah, but you're not in Kansas any more Dorothy.

Maybe the doubters should take their courage in both hands and try the 60B small breakfast for themselves, along with the dozens of other people who have it there every day? And on another occasion the same doubters could also try the Foodland cafe, which for 72B does double eggs Benedict, orange juice, water and a good fresh coffee. Again, not the largest portions the world has ever seen, but tasty and reasonably priced.

OK, now, I think we need to agree to disagree as to what you consider tasteful and acceptable

and what I consider tasteful and acceptable when it comes to food.

No offense, but the crap they sell at that foodland cafe (or whatever it is called), I wouldn't feed

to my dog. And yes, it is always packed with mostly farangs ...

That must be the cheapest and lowest quality ingredients and as poorly prepared as one can

imagine. Sure eggs are eggs and onions are onions, but the oil you use to fry them, and whether

other "fillers" they add in your omelet, does matter to me.

If your taste-buds and tummy are happy with what you get at foodland cafe, and other budget

places, I am happy for you. But I prefer to enjoy breakfast at back fabrik.

  13. I think the most important thing when using contractors (Thai or foreigners) is to use somebody

who is recommended by somebody you trust.

I have been screwed a couple of times as well, and now only use people I either personally know,

or are highly recommended by somebody whose judgement I trust.

This way it will sometimes take longer to find a subcontractor, BUT, you will find somebody who

will get the job done ....

It might be interesting if somebody could maintain a web site with a list of contractors, where people

could post good and bad reports ... I realize this might not be easy, but it could be done anonymously ...

If you add some slices of paprika to these, then it will be perfect. Under the cereal there is in my opinion Vanilla Yoghurt or Long Milk but that doesn't exist in Thailand so Duche yoghurt works fine.

Yang, this sounds like a great suggestion !

Have you tried talking to "Guenter" ? The German owner ? He seems like a very reasonable guy and I am sure he would love to hear your suggestion !!!

ok, for the less than "elitist" tastes - the old Carrefour now BigC extra has a French baker working there and they produce pretty decent stuff. It is more bread and croissants than cakes and cream cakes but within in their limits they are doing fine. Bread is much easier than cakes and can be somewhat adapted to mass production. I should also mention the French baker on the road leading to Jomtien. Nice French-Thai family. They are descendants of generations of French bakers. The croissants were always very nice.

If you like a good cream cake, for instance, forget about the above. You better go to an Austrian or German 'Konditor' and enjoy their products. You wont go every day, maybe once a week. It is a treat and it is worthwhile. A good sign is when you can talk with an owner about his products and he will gladly fill you in. When I lived in Germany I went once a week to a Konditor and bought a "Mandelsemmel." They had them only on Fridays and Saturdays. It cost almost double than one in a supermarket or a chain outlet. I still remember the taste. I could never find anything similar outside Germany. The bread culture in Germany is unique, perhaps including Austria, parts of Switzerland and adjoining regions as they all share the same heritage.

A good and well-run German bakery is a welcome option.

If we are talking just about bakeries and breads, I was very much impressed with the bakery at Central,

I think it is part of the TOPs store on the ground floor. Very nice selection of various fresh breads (also

some Mediterranean variety, I go crazy for those, lol).

I think it was called CP, or something, I was lightheaded from the bread selection, can't remember :P

Apparently you dont understand the difference between being on a budget and liking good value for money.

I'm lucky enough to have no budget at all, but the places I eat at do offer both good quality and good value. What I dont like is quite ordinary places that masquerade as being something above average, and overcharge accordingly, and there are is no shortage whatsoever of places like that in Pattaya.

Are you saying that I will get the same quality bread at the Irish Wolfhound

as I will at Back Fabrik ? Freshly baked variety, of good German breads ...

If I can get the same quality of bread (and other breakfast items) at a lower

cost, I am happy to switch !
